OK let me make it very simple for you with an example of our country - Nigeria has had 4 constitutions in its history, the latest of which was enacted in '99. Your logic is that we should still stick to the 1963 constitution because it still establishshes Nigeria as a federal republic. The '99 constitution still defines our country as a federation (a link to the past just like NT to OT) but restores democracy among many other amendments..... Again, the transition from OT to NT.
We as Nigerians follow the current constitution and not the 1960s constitution even though that was the foundation. Society evolves.

I hope this basic example helps you understand that Christianity is based on the New Testament.
The word Christ in Christians should tell you every thing.
The Old Testament is very important for a historical context. However the guiding principles of Christianity is based on the New Testament and that is just it.

If the Bible, and hence God, supposedly states that marriage should be between one man and one woman (monogamy), why was God apparently okay with polygamy in the old testament times? Do you know that Jesus's earthly lineage was full of polygamous marriages? Do you know that most of the favored women who were in Jesus' earthly lineage were not even the first wives of their husbands?

How many of the main characters in the old testament were monogamous? How many?? Was it Abraham? Judah? David? Need I mention Solomon, who had hundreds of wives (700) and hundreds of concubines (300), yet he was loved by God and God even made him the wisest man on earth and supposedly the wisest man who ever lived. Why would the wisest man created by God have so many wives and concubines if it was not a wise thing to do?

Finally, why would God apparently support polygamy in the Old Testament but oppose it in the New Testament? Is God not the same yesterday, today, and forever?

Do you know anyone can, today, give himself the title 'Pastor'?

People God didn't called can just decide turning themselves into pastors, and when they did wrong things, many (especially atheists) would say 'Those Pastors are this and that'

Bottom line: Not all pastors are called by God, but gave themselves the tittle. Many of those misbehaving are not called by God. God knows His Own, so don't generalise.

How are those who are supposedly "called by God" actually called by God, and how do we know that they are indeed called by God? Mind you, anybody can say that he or she was called by God.

Similarly, followers of these "419"-ers defend them by quoting, "Touch not my annointed and do my prophet no harm". How were they annointed "by God"? How do we know that they were indeed annointed by God?

The dumb and sheepish defenders and worshippers of their fellow human beings live in denial, refuse to believe that they are being duped, and refuse to believe that these are simply business men and "419"-ers.

No matter what these so-called "men of God" do, their brainwashed and hypnotized followers and worshippers conveniently forget to quote, "By their fruits you shall know them".

Many of these so-called "men of God" keep getting richer and living a flambouyant lifestyle while many of the followers do not experience any improvement in their finances or standard of living. Yet, everyone conveniently forgets that Jesus said that "... it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kindom of God/heaven". Jesus also told his disciples to get rid of all their possesions and follow him. These so-called "men of God" and their gullible followers and worshippers conveniently do not quote these Bible verses or even consider these issues.
