@help me,

help me:

You are telling me,she is lieing to me,i will call her tomorrow to sell and she should not lie to me.She forget say i get my invisble and best brokers for nairaland.

Before you harrass you rbroker, let's get somethings straight. Maybe we may not have understood you completely either because you've not explained well. There are instatnces where your stock can be on "pending" for instance if you bought from the secondary market and it hasn't been up to 3 days, if you log on to your CSCS account(which all brokers have, and where they see the status of your shares) it will show "pending" for that number of shares, until CSCS has cleared it and it now moves to the column "balance". This also happens when you send in your certificate for verification, once your certificate has been verified and is lodged with the CSCS, you will see it on the "balance" column and it's only then that you can sell such shares.

I hope this helps, just my 2 kobo.

@pumping,
i wonder how full this our PZ flightis, because the less the pasengers the lighter and more room to relax in the craft. But I hope it has as much momentum like the PHB turbo jet, so that we don't crashland. BTW who is the captain for this one?

wanaj0:

while waiting for the gurus to answer, I will personally not go near any of them.

Unilever is operating in a sector with many competitors and tight margins.

UACN has a relatively low PE because of extra ordinary items. That's what's been boosting their profit for some years now. Likely to declare a bonus this year though. In terms of fundamentals, nothing special. I am actually selling.

Oga Wanajo, I tend to agree with you. But some people have already gotten their PZ bags, what is your take on this seeing that it also has one of the lowest PE ratios in that sector- 19.49, released an impressive result(though not FANTASTIC).

@PUMPING, Happy new week. Hope you filled your PZ bag so we can continue with this PHB flight?
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by upward(m): 6:12pm On Jan 18, 2008
@yodi, I like your spirit. the NSE is agog with daily opportunities so it's wise to make the best bargains, however taking position early pays off in the long run,but all is a risk, definitely- the more the risk the more the profit or the LOSS.

yodiyokun:

@all,
This PZ issue - There really isnt any upside to it.

It just keeps gyrating between 22-25 Naira -- That isnt any profit if you ask me!.

Or am I missing something.

Pumping did you eventually get on DEAP CAP,  I am thinking of getting on now ooo.

I remember how I was saying C& I was too expensive at 8Naira --- I was obviously kidding myself.

Yodi, I don't think you will always like to wait for a stock to start doing 5% increase before you take position, don't let what you are saying happened to you and DEAP CAP happen again, but you can watch PZ. I'm getting more by monday. meanwhile it's on STRON BID today.

That said, the decision to buy or sell a stock should really and solely be yours.

Femtex:

@ Upward,

Does that means the result posted by Cashcraft is correct and up to date.

Looks like they turned out to be the correct ones, because I had earlier posted here that theirs was wrong since it was not corresponsing with all others. But now others are correcting to theirs.

hbrednic:

i hope some of my holdings that were showing red,will now turn to green.
make i go check sharp sharp.

I pray so, because some of the ones in nigerian securities that were corrected were initially higher than the correct figures
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by upward(m): 4:16pm On Jan 18, 2008
I just discovered that Nigerian securities site and trw brokers posted the wrong results for today. nigeriansecurities has corrected theirs, don't know for trw. so in case you have saved those and making calculations with them, pls refress the page and you'll see different figures

Does anyone know how long it takes to be alerted by CSCS when your stock has been sold/bought?

I usually get mine between 1-3 hours after close of market.
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by upward(m): 2:34pm On Jan 18, 2008
Abeg, anybody looking at cashcraft pricelist for today is just at the wrong place, most of the results they have are different from what all others have, so beware.

FatherOF2:

"   hope you didn't forget that your PZ bag in the HOTEL on earth."

I hope so too, make e no come because e wan go collect the PZ bag crash-land the craft-o
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by upward(m): 2:19pm On Jan 18, 2008
Hello all, I hope you guys still remember what i said yesterday. PZ gained 3.53% today, looks like it's set for some "UPWARD" movemnet. you were still waiting for it to drop further, well, maybe you may hav to wait longer. oga pumping where are you?

invisible!:

There is a difference between what was reported on Nigerian securies site and what I found on the NSE site. For example, Oando lost N3+ on the Nigerian securities site, but lost as much as N5+ on the NSE site.

Abi them rush their own before market closed?

Yeah there seems to be some descrepancies. UBA closed at 51 on the nigeriansecurities, but at 50 on cashcraft waht is happening?

We talked about Fidelity last week. Profit taking will be ripe by next week.

Also we already know that there may be 2 interim results almost back to back. Wema, Access. Whatever, the price will rise beyond the TS price iin the short run and then it's time smile to the bank.

Did someone say PZ, ? Yes, another candidate. Agreed the price is falling because of the mediocre results, but some people are not even aware of results and just buy. But this one needs to fall some more sha.

is that not the result you are talking about was released today.
ACCESS BANK PLC, UNAUDITED NINE MONTHS RESULT ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2007

TURNOVER 07 N41.890b, 06 N17.127b

PBT 07 N13.153b, 06 N4.303b

TAXATION 07 (N4.2b) 06 (N1.075b)

PAT 07 N8.994b, 06 N3.227b

About PZ, hmm, remember your statement few posts ago, don't let the crowd head in it's direction before you take position, maybe you have already for you to say it here, don't think it will drop so much more.remember ikeja hotels.

I want to be sure I am against the crowd as much as possible. Most are are combination of mine and the strategies of others on this thread. I am seeing the evidence that once everyone knows about a working formular it stops working as well.

It is strange how the killer deals are the ones most people never look at because the stocks don't really look good at all. Deap Capital is a very very good example. It was glaring but even I missed it but only just because I was greedy and put in a low bid. Right now it is the fastest flying jet liner on the NSE and the jet appears to run on air.

Very well said my Oga, I totally agree with you and that was exactly what I was driving at: keping our eyes oopen to see them juicy opening, even wehn no one is looking at them. God will prosper us this 2008, but we must return all glory to HIM. Abeg, remember me when you enter your promised land-o

Hello oga pumping, I can see you are pumping from all cylinders. It is well, as we enjoy this PHB flight, let's not take away our eyes from the juicy opening of our dearNSE, which I've come to realize happens everyday. Because I'm beginnig to build up holdings in one conglo, like FO2 will say

But air hostess say make i sitdown straight.

Oga Baba ibeji, you're becoming very liberal with releasing stuff here. That's great. I thought I was the only one noticing the AMAZING SAME-HIGH/LOW PRICE. That's speaks volumes of the momentum. i hail-o, please, you can send me a mail at    teekachi (at) yahoo.com   there's something i want to share with you. waiting,

Hmmmm, you have a point there, I hope you have taken your seat-o. However I notice that Unilever gained today, so for all who waited for you to mention it first which you did this morning they may be chasing a moving train.

Nothing fascinating about PZ. Not impressed in the intermim result. Growth is just marginal.

Yeah, Oga wanajo, growth is not very fantastic, but it has lost almost 9% in 3 straight days and for short-term traders this may just be an opportunity to cash in and make "marginal" profit. also considering the interim result, not so bad afterall.

@Fatherof2 what do you have to say?  I noticed you also mentioned the drop of PZ in one of your previous posts.
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by upward(m): 2:42pm On Jan 17, 2008

@All,
for all who are still in the queue to get PHB, looks like you will look elsewhere(if you've not taken position by now), fillers from the floor looks like it's been lifted off TS, and is already on it's way up as the top gainer.

Please where can one get "real-time" information as to what is happening in the floor of the exchange, as par bids and offers, etc, not the summary we have after the market would have closed? Thank you all for your anticipated responses.
