This has been going on for years, they even add shafts and stones to bag of beans add to its weight. Nigerians find it convenient to blame the government for every little thing but most of them are not honest.

Maybe because there is no proper structure to watch and regulate the activities of these people.
Laws were made because of the tendencies of human in-actions.
the government still have a role to play in this by not just making a law against this but implementing it t the core.

Politics / Re: Who Is Your Political Role Model/ Mentor In Nigeria Today? by Uyemi: 1:36pm On Jul 07, 2018
For now, my model is Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. He may not have been the perfect leader but he stands out as a politician with conscience.
He may have seemed weak but he listened to the people, and to me, seemed considerate. people may have looted, many others died under his watch, though I don't want to compare him with some leaders, he managed it well.
As for me, Nigeria improved a lot under him, he tried his best to carry everyone along regardless of the region or religion.

Politics / Re: June 12: Tinubu, Fayemi Rejected Renaming Of UNILAG After Abiola (Throwback) by Uyemi: 11:13am On Jun 14, 2018
LaudableXX:

GEJ did NOT try anything! angry UNILAG was already a brand, with a recognisable identity - both locally and internationally. Changing its' name, would have killed the brand. Moreover, why change its' identity without consulting the stakeholders? shocked It shows how insensitive GEJ was, at that time. There were more than 3 Federal Universities in the South, that had no recognisable identity or brand, whose names could have been changed or used to immortalise Abiola. Instead, GEJ stupidly tried to do a cosmetic name change with UNILAG. And it backfired big time. Silly man. undecided How clueless can a president be?

And May 29th is not a brand? when did the millitary officially hand over to the civilian government? why do you mark your birthday from the day you were born instead of the day you were conceived?
Speaking of the title given to him, Abiola was only a president elect who was never sworn into office which (to a large extent) is just not okay.
Call me what ever you want but the truth is that they used a man of quality reputation to play on your myopic intelligence just like they did in 2015

Politics / Re: Hope Uzodimma: Why I Am Supporting Buhari’s Re-election Bid by Uyemi: 12:16pm On Feb 27, 2018
This is very shallow and cheap, worst of all, it's an insult not just to his constituents who elected him but to Nigeria as a whole because he is a Nigerian senator.
As for me, I don't care where the candidate for presidency comes from, as long as he don't just have good manifestos but competent strategies to achieve them. this involves the interest of this country, when bad governance hits, it won't consider your tribe, religion or affelliation.
the north has produced the highest number of presidents but it still has a very high rate of poverty. The west has also produced theirs but I dont think their success is tied to that. The south has produced has produced a president but we all know the region is not more of Nigeria than the rest of the region.
If it were up to me, every opportuned youth should join a political party, then we can not only run for office but also have a say in who emerges as a flag bearer to ensure a good candidate is elected into office.
If only we can stop celebrating mediocrity,
If only we would that our opinion don't count only during the general election.
If only we can consider what the candidate has to offer and see ourselves first as Nigerians.

DASUKIGATE!
"The reason why my own thumb will never vote for PDP again"

With humility and profound respect i write this, the rationale behind this write-up is to exercise my freedom of speech and expression, and also to urge my fellow countrymen to be more conscious in exercising their franchise.
In the fast years, Our dear country Nigeria had been battling with insurgency, the Boko haram menace (conspiracy as some people called it.). We have seen how Soldiers were deployed in large numbers to the war front without proper arms and ammunitions, this result in mass burial of brave and gallant soldiers. The morale of our gallant soldiers was shaken at that time, the dignity and pride of the Nigerian army seems to be lost at that time, the North-Eastern part of the counrty was in chaos and turmoil, there was break down of law and order.
The ruling party at that the time was the PDP.
The president at that time was Gooluck Jonathan Ebele Azikwe. A huge sum of money was approved for the purchased of arms to help tackle the boko haram menace.

Lo and behold!! Before our own eyes the money was diverted to fund the PDP 2015 General Election. This is clearly inhumane. Shortly after PDP lost the 2015 Election to opppsition, we begin to hear shocking revelation about how the money meant for procurement of arms was diverted to fund the PDP campaigns, thanks to Muhammadu buhari's administration anti-corruption war.

The ruling party sent our young, brave and gallant soldiers to the battlefield to die, and without shame they jubilate and share the public money with there political jamboree while our soldiers are dying on the war front.

All this was done by the PDP and under the watch of the president, the ruling party; PDP.
Therefore, i'll not forgive myself if i ever vote for PDP again in my life. I hereby call on my fellow sane countrymen to look at history and be more conscious in excercising their franchise.

To my fellow comrades that our opinion and political affiliation differs, i hope you'll endeavor to understand my views and opinion.
To my fellow countrymen and compatriots, this is my own view and opinion, and i hope you will reason very well before you make your own.
To my brothers and the good people that i have the privilege to know, who are contesting for various seats under the PDP flatform, i'm very sorry!! But my own thumb will never vote PDP again. I hope u'll understand and respect my opinion.

Thanks y'all.

Nice view, but in truth, more went on behind the scene than has been brought to light. though I stand to be corrected, I recall the northern elites, when the fight against boko haram was fierce in 2012, call for the sack of Ihejirika, they even went as far as reporting Nigeria to international organisations that the Nigerian Army was not fighting boko haram but was terrorizing civilians instead. I recall incesant complaints and the rumor that should you shelter or feed a boko haram fugitive and get caught, that there was a serious punishment for that, (but then again my assertions has no concrete evidence right now since I can neither remember where I read it nor if it it's a mere hearsay) the result was an ammunition embargo, I guess that was there reason for resorting to the black market where they were caught twice, the insurgency loomed, our soldiers butchered in their numbers until after the Russia/Ukraine war when they could Legally buy and the advantage returned to the side of the Nigerian Army. yes there were conspiracies then, as the war was both politicised and religious cetiments playing it's own role.
It could be possible that the money was embesseled but then again, I wonder why a sitting president who wants to run for a second term play with a score card that could have earned him high points.
please feel free to correct me where am wrong as no one has monopoly of knowledge

Romance / Re: The Reason You Should Remain A Virgin Until Marriage. by Uyemi: 5:15pm On Oct 24, 2017
It pays to be a virgin when you end up with someone who really knows your worth as a person (not a virgin).

As for me, I will only respect a virgin for her motive of keeping it and not her actual virginity status.

If you keep it because you want to keep it as a gift for your hubby fine. as long as you don't masturbate or even massage with fellow girls.

If you keep it out of fear and love of God, even better.

but if you are a man and you think marriage is all about sex, then please take a painkiller coz "your brain may be paining you"

Last I checked, no human being is perfect neither can one please everybody.

Jonathan may not have been perfect but its not an excuse for Buhari to perform or rule this way.

Buhari never promised us CONTINUITY, REVENGE or BLAME.

Whatever or however Jonathan's administration was, Buhari promised to CHANGE it and that is obviously not what he is doing.

It is because GEJ had so much money in reserve courtesy of Obasanjo. $38Billiion excess crude oil iaccount and $32Billion foreign reserve account. So we couldn't feel the recession. Oil price was high, No Niger Delta bombings, he had enough money to import rice and every other things. So GEJ had a lot of advantages for him but he chose to allow his guys around him loot everything
It is only time that will tell that GEJ actually ruined this country.
If GEJ wants to be sincere and honest, let him tell us how much he met in government coffers and how much he left there. And let the figures be published.
GEJ saying all sorts of rubbish is inviting APC to spill more of his ineptitude and weakness as a leader. GEj can not be spreading lies about and expect APC to keep quiet . Yet it was the same GEj that was going to ASO rock to beg PMB not to expose him and his looting administration.

When will sense fall on Igbo people? What is the relevance of this protest if I may ask? Why are you taking Panadol for another man's headache? The principle actors that ushered in this great misfortune on Nigerians are no where to be found now. Those that positioned to benefit by bringing in a sick man to rule Nigeria Where are they?

Igbos, have you forgotten so soon? What business do Igbos like Jim Iyke and Charly Boy got with whether Buhari resumes or resigns? Even if the protest succeeds, the beneficiaries would still be Hausa and Youruba. Particularly, Tinubu, Osibanjo, and El rufia. Igbos should allow them bury their dead.

Have you asked yourself where people like Tunde Bakare, Falana, Wole Soyinka and ObJ who are well known political advocates are? They have all become mute, and that is not enough to make you put on you thinking cap.

Sometimes, you just have to pick your fight wisely. At the moment, with the present political setting an Igbo man does not need to sweat it for anybody.

You protest against an Hausa fulani in Abuja, you people are slaughtered by Arewa Youths in Kaduna while the Yorubas are partying in Lagos and you think you have sense?

They all know where they had a bath, they should go there and look for their pants

this situation is not about tribe and ethnicity but about national pride.

does it really matter if you are ibgo housa youroba or even a minority ethnic group.

what matters is that we are Nigerians and the myopic policies of this administration hits everyone not minding your tribe or affiliation.

You guys are pathological hypocrites.

atleast we know it was cancer, the sickness had a name and there was no illusions about him being fine or even humorous during the time he was away for treatment. unlike this power tasty man whom we have been told by almost all his guests that he is fine and recuperating well in London.
by the way whats that sickness his suffering from again undecided
Politics / Re: Pro-Buhari Rally Staged In Abuja (Photos) by Uyemi: 2:29pm On Aug 10, 2017
KBrown:
For those of you condemning the Pro-Buhari group, you are just being insensitive to his plight. Anyone can fall sick and he is not the first head of government to fall sick. He did what is required of him by the constitution by passing over the baton to Osinbajo in his absence. In fact, at some point, many of you claimed that Osinbajo is even performing better than Buhari and told him to remain in London. It is therefore obvious that the anti-Buhari group is just motivated by hatred and/or tacit support for the corrupt people who want Buhari out at all costs.
My own understanding of the situation is that some people who are not happy with the results being achieved and improvements being recorded in the economy just encouraged the anti-Buhari group to create a diversion.
If indeed they were sincere, they should have protested to the foreign embassies of UK, USA and others in Lagos and Abuja and demand the repatriation of people like Diezani who looted our economy mindlessly.
Buhari's absence has not affected the day-to-day running of government. We should only pray for his quick recovery. He has demonstrated that being around to run the country is a service that can be rendered by his deputy with whom they won on a joint ticket. To him, it is not a do or die affair. That's why he's taking care of his health first. He deserves commendation for thinking straight unlike other sit-tight African leaders.

I completely disagree with you on this. so PMB has every right to stay in London because he "transmitted" power to his vice. was he elected to work and function as president of FRN or to sit in London and crack jokes because from the impression the delegates gave when they returned weeks back, he was recuperating very fast. or is the capital of Nigeria now in London?
since its not his fault that he's sick, who's fault is it that the sickness is undisclosed?

If they are Nigerians, their continuous menace is an insult to our security system but if they are foreigners then its a big slap to the federal republic of Nigeria that is not just a sovereign nation but the "giant of Africa".
