IPOB and Nnamdi kanu should be ashamed for not providing such free treatment for the people they are fighting for aside asking them to go kissing Nnamdi kanu's shoe

I knew the bank will come up with a very well orchestrated denial story and wont accept liability in any way, if Diamondbank is a responsible bank that cares about customers, the right thing to do is give mama at least half of the money while they investigate and try to recover the money. What if that money is the only hope for that old woman, do you expect her to die of hunger while they keep speaking big big grammar? angry

Ps-All you professors in Liability assessment mentioning me, if the old woman was hypertensive and died of stroke right there in the bank premises and the news got out like "Diamondbank customer dies in bank after account was emptied" we will know how denying liability will help their growth angry

Bros you big big mum oooo. Where will the bank get money to give mana. From another person 's account? Her kids should come and take care of their mother. How can she be living alone?

Literature / Re: Chimamanda Adichie Makes Fortune Magazine's List Of World's 50 Greatest Leaders by veron007: 12:51pm On Mar 25, 2017
lalabrother:
Fortune has released its annual list of World’s 50 greatest leaders and award winning Nigerian Author, Chimamanda Adichie made it to the list.

Nigerian author, Chimamanda Adichie is among the 50 greatest world leaders in the 2017 Fortune magazine ranking

These 50 great men and women are said to be transforming the world and inspiring others to do the same in business, government, philanthropy and the arts.

About Chimamanda who is 42 on the list, the magazine wrote:

“The prize-winning Nigerian writer has won admirers with her prose and a pair of viral TED Talks (one of which was famously sampled by Beyoncé). But Adichie has been most powerful in challenging her audiences to think differently and more expansively about Africa, identity, race, and gender. Many in the ¬English-speaking world have embraced the invitation, and she has emerged as a feminist icon—she tells girls to get over being liked—and a fearless political and cultural critic.”

Top on the list is Chicago Cubs baseball team president Theo Epstein, followed by Business mogul Jack Ma of AliBaba group of companies and Catholic leader Pope Francis is in third place for his social integration projects as a clergy.

Melinda Gates is at number four in recognition of the impact of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation which she co-chairs while Jeff Bezos Amazon CEO is at number five.

The list also features Colombian music superstar Shakira is at 27, celebrated basketball player LeBron James at 11 and former U.S Vice President Joe Biden at 23.

Adichie's novel “Americanah” recently won the “One Book, One New York” campaign by the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment and BuzzFeed.

In a recent interview with the UK Guardian, she addressed several issues bordering on feminism, girl child, women and fashion in Nigeria and life generally. of the issues for which he is well known.

On Wednesday, March 22, women from all walks of life gathered in Ogun state to stage a rally against gender-based violence and women molestation in Nigeria.

DedeNkem:
This is why I keep saying that Nigerian "doctors" are useless. In the West, this baby's heart problem would have been detected and fixed even before she was born or taken into intensive care to fix the heart issue immediately after she was born!

I'm not even sure if Nigerian "doctors" can fix any heart disease at all that requires an operation. In fact, they hardly conduct correct diagnosis of illness! Most Nigerian "doctors" don't know what's wrong with their patients! So most times they end up making guesses of patient's illness and administer treatment meant for a totally different illness their patient wasn't suffering!

A friend of mine (an European based Nigerian) who visited home, nearly died in Nigerian because his illness was misdiagnosed at three hospitals that gave him three difference results and none of them stated correctly his illness! When he returned to Europe and visited a doctor, it didn't take the doctor 2 minutes to reveal what the guy was actually suffering from! And he became well within three days of treatment!

I weep for Nigeria. Nigerian doctors' incompetence have killed many Nigerians. Nigerian hospitals are like death chambers. Patients who have mild and treatable illnesses die steadily in the hospitals!

Shame on Nigerian Universities that churning out either half-baked "graduate" or outright illiterate "graduates! Shame on Nigeria for having the worst Healthcare system in the world!

The Sam family is great for donating the money for another patient suffering from Heart surgery. Bravo to them! I'm so sorry for their loss.

I totally agree with you. Imagine a Nigeria doctor removed a patient's two kidneys thinking they are tumors. It's incomprehensible! And he still has his license to continue practicing.
Properties / Re: Building A Shopping Mall by veron007: 4:51pm On Oct 03, 2016
olumide4christ:

Who says the commercial project wouldn't fetch you quick money In fact, it is easier to make money from commercial projects than residential projects, unlike what someone said above.

Commercial tenants pay rent faster and easier than one-man residential tenants.

Shopping malls are opening up everywhere in Lagos here, I don't know where your site is located.

Offices are still a hot cake here in Lagos WHEREAS there is currently a glut of residential houses that are vacant simply because they are overpriced and/or the purchasing power of individuals has been reduced due to the economic downturn in the country.

What about eateries ---- many fast food retail chains are opening up outlets in different locations to keep abreast with the competition.

What about event centers ---- you could also consider including that depending on the size of your land and location. I did a kind of feasibility study for a silent Nairalander here earlier this year....the income to be obtained from hiring out event centers for just 2 times in a month (to be minimalistic) within 1 year is great and the return on investment is quick, far more than a residential building.

In some locations in Lagos, an event center could be hired for btw N300,000 -N800,000 for just a day depending on the seating capacity, car parking space, location, etc. That amount is what you would get from 1 tenant renting a 2-bedroom or 3-bedroom flat in 1 year or even 2 years, depending on the location. Funny enough, with the advent of marquee tents now commonly used for event centers, you would spend less on initial capital expenditure than you would on building a block of flats for residential flats.

Advantages of commercial properties over residential properties -

1. Commercial tenants pay rent faster and easier than one-man residential tenants
2. Commercial tenants maintain the property better than residential tenants
3. Commercial properties have higher return on investment and faster payback period than residential properties
4. It is faster to get tenants for commercial properties than residential. The picture attached below is a commercial development beside Grand Square (a popular shopping mall -the building with red roof in the background) on the highbrow Adetokunbo Ademola street in Victoria Island, Lagos in which I was the Quantity Surveyor. The project ended February 2016 and 2-3 months later, the property has been leased by a corporate entity; of course the rental rates in that axis is one of the highest in Lagos, but it was leased very fast despite the harsh economy.

Please go ahead with your plan; you are on the right track!!!

SHALOM!

Bro God bless you. You are absolutely on point. I am just scouting for a place for a shopping mall in Enugu or Awka. Two of my tenants are still owing me. One just parked out owing me 5 months rent.

Our correspondent at the scene was told by relatives of the victim that but for the timely intervention of a retired commodore who stopped his car and restrained the soldiers from inflicting more injuries on the Jide, he could have lost his life in the attack.

After the commodore intervened, Jide was rushed by
bystanders to Mercy Gate hospital along 72 Road where is receiving treatment.

Narrating his ordeal to our correspondent at the hospital, Jide said: I was coming from where I went to buy water barely ten minutes after talking with my wife on the phone, at 23 Road Mobil Petrol station, those buying fuel had blocked one lane and a soldier had stopped a bus on the other lane in the middle of the road.

“The next thing he said was, You must be a useless man, then when I saw that he was already taking that tone I decided to move my car, then he started running after me, after I took the turning on 23 Road, another soldier, light in complexion came in front of my car, I stopped, then he began kicking my front wheel and smashed my windscreen.

“When I saw he was kicking my car, I moved, then the two Soldiers boarded a bike, then they later became four and began chasing me, as I got to 7th Avenue, I made a U-turn and they rammed their bike into my car, then I drove off, when the soldiers saw me driving off they shot at the car twice, the second bullet hit my tyre.

When I heard the sound of the gun I couldn’t believe I was being shot at. After my tyre went flat, I came down and they ran to me and beat me blue black, after that people around brought me to the hospital.

The relatives of the victim said the commanding officer of the soldiers, Lieutenant Sadi, later came to the hospital to see the damage his men had caused to an innocent citizen, but offered no further succor.

I knew Emeka back in school, can't say he is gay. That's probably the wife trying to get back at him.
But he is almost but not a nerd, smart and bookish, mastubation thing might not be a lie, but his wife probably does not even know what a gay person is.

Emeka is very gentle, am disappointed to read that he beats his wife, and locks her up?
I think the problem is that he lost his job, and as the saying goes, loose money, loose respect.

Emeka if you are reading this, I will say,
First end all this media court case.
Give your wife some space,
Give your mum some space as well,
Provide as much as you can for your kids but focus on reinvigorating yourself.

Get back to that hammer brain of yours, look real deep, you will find things that Nigeria needs real bad.
Nigeria needs those marathon brain of yours, so no need rushing to Canada, you can go vacation there later.
Look around so many problems need solution. And you even have the pedigree to get funding.
Give the lady her passports and papers, you do not need it, cause you are not likely to find Job in Schlumberger Canader in a downturn.

When you are able to buildup from what we all know you have,
Your wife and all the rest will fall into place.
This is nothing more than money issues, not because your family does not have money, but because it seems you are depending on others including your mother for money. He who pay the piper dictates the tunes. So get back up and play your own tunes.

Emekas Wife, here is the bottom truth.
That guy did not grow up a minister's son, so can't be living with a bloated ego. You are really angry and spewing rubbish, which may come back to bite you.
You have in your hands a brain and a mind that could rival Steve Jobs.
If you cannot make a husband out of that, you will not be able to make a husband out of any better man.
Go help your husband focus on the things he is really good at.

Bro I totally agree with you but for a few points.
I have know Emeka for the past 15 years. And I can guarantee you that this guy is far from gay. I know some of the ladies he use to hang out with and dated while we were in UNN and before he got maried. Yes you can call call him a late bloomer but definitely not gay!

Emeka is the last person that will lay his hands on a lady. This guy will go out of his way to help, feed and cloth fellow students that he does not really know ( mind you his mother was not yet a minister while we were in UNN). I use to joke that he is too soft with women and they will always take advantage of his "gentleman" character. He is well mannered, humorous and treated every woman I have see around him with utmost respect and dignity. I don't really know his wife very well but from the little interaction I've had with her in the past her does not strike me like a person you can lock inside a toilet, abuse and she will keep quite for 5 years.

This whole story is just cock and bull story fabricated to get back at her husband for yet to be disclosed marital issues. It's sad that she has to throw all caution to the wind, and lay false accusations to one of the finest brains this generation has know. This guy was the valedictorian for the whole UNN in 2005. He archived this in Electronic Engineering not some social science course or education.

It really a pity that madam chose to wash her dirty linen in public. My question is "where are the adults in both families?" Issues like this should be settled in the family not on Linda Ikeji blog.

What a disaster! I'm not trying to tarnish the image of any company but I have to speak out. Lekki Gardens has a reputation for cutting corners. Some of the newly built houses Horizon as it is called situated at Elegushi busstop have cracks on its walls. If I were any of the house owners I'll relocate asap lest another disaster happens.

You are not tarnishing any company's image! It's hi time we call a spade a spade. Lekki Garden estate development company is the most heart less and carlos company I have every know. All the houses in their estates are sub-standard and has one defect or the other. From the beginning we have pointing it out to the owner Richard but he didn't listen. The walls are cracking and bending even before the houses are finished. Since we have paid for the house before they started building it , Lekki Garden refused to refund my hard earned money. Two years ago a one story building collapsed in Lekki Garden Estate II (opposite Abraham Adeseyan Estate due to use of substandard materials and cutting corners). A report was sent to Lagos State building management office but as usual the report was squash and destroyed. In-fact Lekki Garden started threatening residents that made the report thugs.

My final conclusion, if you have paid for any Lekki Garden building kindly go and ask they for a refund because they are just building burial coffin for you and your family.
Secondly, this loss of 18 lives could have been avoided if the first petition written 2 years ago to Lagos building commission was investigated they would have been sanctioned not to take short-cuts and theses 18 lives would have been saved. God help us in this country!

This criminal has carried his criminality from Lagos to the whole country. How can you increase price of an essential commodity by 45% without any meaningful explanation. This is the same way he approved upgrade of his personal website for 70M. This man does not understand the value of naira and how much the masses are suffering.

It was very sad when one of my friend that worked there told me he and 19 others were sacked on friday with claims that the company is trying to save cost.

After they were deceived into a 1 year period as a graduate trainee where they was an agreement of 6 month initially. They would have been confirmed on febuary as staffs and the company decided to relieve all of them of work.

They were very hardworking and knew there work by all standard and without notice or just cause were sacked. This is how what happens when indians come to your country to ridicule your own people at home

Guys don't blam the Indians. They are just trying to survive in this crazy economy. As an investor myself for the past 15 years I have not seen our economy in such a rudderless state.
It's not only Indian companies that releasing their workers. Go to banks and manufacturing companies and see how many people that has been let go.

It's amazing how things are unfolding in Nigeria today. This is the same middle belt that fought on the side of hausa/ fulani during the civil war!
The hausa and fulani used then to execute the biggest genocide in the history of Africa but the God that has been on the side of our fore father and the just is now fighting for us. God has set of the fire of confusion in our persecutor's camp.

1. Hausa/fulani killing themselves in the name of Boko haram
2. Sharia laws enacted to punish God's own people has turned around and breed the most vicious terrorists in sub-Saharan Africa.
3. Major Adaka (adaka means baboon in Igbo though) was assassinated by the same Nigeria troops he was fighting for (talk of use and throw away).
4. Ken Sarowia was hung like a common criminal by the same hausa/fulani masters he served through out his life.

......I can continue with the list. But I just want to point out something "Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm". The retribution from God can take ages but it will surely come. And the punishment transcends many generations!

Would it be wise as we are not married yet to each other, and also my other games will be checkmated by her dwelling with me.

Please, advice me, I love her very much but.......

Bro take this advice from me.....it's a bad move. See the reasons below:

1. She will cock-block your other runs.
2. Leaving with a woman will slow down your hustle. Can you wake up and leave in the morning without attending to her or travel for days without worrying about her security and upkeep?
3. The moment she moves into your house she will automatically become your responsibility! No longer her dad's responsibility.
4. Have you though about about what will happen if she gets pregnant....marriage, abortion, etc?
5. What of the cost of keeping a woman?.....an average woman cost more than a new born baby. Keeping a woman is more than friday night take out.
6. What's the long term plan for her? She might be trying to rope-you-in. Run brother run!

Bro, I am married now for 3 years and I can tell you that it's a bad move. Once you have not married her, let her stay in her parents house till you have made up your mind to marry her. There is no gain by living with her. You can get all you want even if she still lives with her folks.

.....mean while I think marriage is grossly over-rated. Being single and free is the way to go! Holla if you feel me.
