engrsyer: @andy@g and vicope, wat would b d salary GL for only B. Eng in min of environment and trade n investments? Is it GL 8/2, 8/3, or 8/4? U will help me out if u tell me. Thanks.

Depends on your years of experience Sir. If u do not have post-NYSC experience, you would most likely be placed on 8/2. B.Eng, BSc or BA.

Concerning this immigration recruitment, I seriously do not know what to believe anymore. On thursday, I was at the office of a certain Honorable member till late evening (around 7pm). At the time of leaving the assembly complex, the NSCDC CG, Abolurin was also leaving at the same time. I however realized that both Immigrations, Prisons and Civil Defence bosses were all present at NASS that day. When I asked the Honorable I went to see (a member of House Commitee on Interior) about what was going on.....he just told me the recruitment has been suspended.
I am still in doubt of how true this could be, because on that same thursday, while at the assembly complex (HoR wing), I came across a friend who works as a secretary to another Honorable member. He was taking a letter to the chairman, house commitee on interior (Hon Pategi)........and in that letter were names of candidates recommended for employment in NIS (their names, their application number, preferred state of exam, and email address were all included in that letter). The surprising thing though is that in that letter, 30 names were sent but only 2 chose FCT as their preferred state of exam, 28 chose a state in the north central.

If truly the recruitment has been suspended as the Honorable said, why are they still sending request letters to NIS? I tried listening to the news on thursday evening for any possible confirmation or reason for why those paramilitary chiefs were at the national assembly till that time but nothing was said on the news...............

And truly, that test we are waiting for is nothing but a charade as the real list is already been compiled already.

Let's still hope on God for the best.

Justcul: @vicope, y do u want to change to environment? Is it 4 better prospects?
There are almost equal prospects in both fields, if not higher in health. I have a flare for environmental protection especially bioremediation and environmental biotechnology. You could have your job and still be consulting for oil exploration companies on best environmental practices. Above these, I just have the feeling that I'll do better in the environmental sector. Sometimes, it isn't just about the salary (I get a very good pay at my current workplace) but I don't see myself pursuing any postgraduate discipline in health sciences (which is a pre-requisite to advance in the health sector), rather I'm already pursuing an MSc in Environmental Toxicology/Management including HSE, EA and other relevant professional courses.

Different strokes for different folks I must say beacuse I know people who are willing to pursue a challenging career in health sector. The pay is good coupled with the DQA trips that you are likely to embark on several times in a year coming with fat DTAs.

U dont need to convince anyone, they wont believe! many of them do not understand the workings of the FCSC. They forget to ask themselves these questions: why would FCSC request for hard copies when they could simply tell everyone to apply online? why were some people asked to submit their hard copies at the gate and another set of people allowed into the commission complex to submit at the Hon. Chairman's office and given a serial number immediately?

if you go back to my previous posts on this thread, you will find that i explained all these but people hurled insults at me. they do not understand how the civil service works. i work in a govt agency but i wish to change my career path from the health sector to the environment sector. i know how civil service is. even promotion is not done in complete fairness, talk more of recruitment. please let everyone believe what they wish to believe. at the end, God will help us all.

This thread is mainly to share information regarding the recruitment process only. Pls open a new thread for 'immigration exam tutorials', I'm sure some people will be interested. Bro, I'm sure there's nothing those people can do about it. There's no way banks can refund that money because they will have to do a reversal of transaction which cannot be paid cash. Some people paid at bank branches far away from their usual location. Let's just pray against these 'enemies of progress' and protest against their decision if we have to. They are not really fighting for our interest.

Did you just say put me in trouble? I guess you'll be the one to launch the manhunt? Hmmmmmmm!

I won't go into academic details, but whatever qualification you must have earned must be through the back door as you do not exhibit the decorum, sanity and qualities an average tertiary institution graduate should possess.

Its everyone's prerogative to ask for past questions or not, its your freewill to grant them that favour or simply ignore. I'm bothered that people with such unwarranted aggressive behaviours and unbridled tongues are the ones to hold the helm of affairs of public offices in the nearest future. Govt has a lot of work to do especially investing in trainings such as human/public relations, public speaking and social etiquette for people like you, should you be employed!

Education / ASUU Strike: FG Agrees To Spend N200b Annually For Four Years. by vicope: 7:16am On Oct 17, 2013
Towards ending the ongoing ASUU strike, the Federal Government has committed to spending N200 billion in the 2014 budget on the universities as well as on each of the next three-four years until the universities are brought to world-class standard. This is in addition to the N100 billion dedicated and already made available for 2013.
The government has also increased to N40 billion as a first installment, funds for the payment of earned allowances to the striking lecturers, an improvement from the N30 billion previously released.

This information is contained in an internal Federal University of Otuoke statement by Professor Bolaji Aluko, its Vice-Chancellor, seen on Wednesday night by SaharaReporters. On the earned allowances, he explained,
“Government will top it up with further
releases once universities are through with the disbursement of this new figure of N40 million, so Vice-Chancellors are urged to expedite this disbursement within the shortest possible time using guiding templates that have been sent by the CVC,” the circular said.

Professor Aluko said the development
followed meetings on September 19 and Oct 11 of representatives of the Association of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, led by CVC Chairman, Prof. Hamisu of ATBU and
ASUU Representatives led by its President, Dr. N. Fagge with the Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Arc. Namadi. Sambo, Minister of Education Barr. N. Wike and others.
Of great interest to stakeholders, Vice-
President Sambo, appealing to ASUU to call off the strike, apologized for the "take-it-or-leave-it" comments credited to the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala at the onset of the strike. The Minister did not seem to have been involved in either meeting, perhaps as the government’s way of soothing the
feelings of the university teachers.

Other points of agreement at the meetings include the following:

Project Prioritization: Universities will now be allowed to determine their priorities and not be “rail-roaded” into implementing a pre-determined set of projects with respect to the NEEDS assessment. Decisions are not to be
centralized.

TETFund Intervention: Government assured that the operations of the TETFund will not be impaired, and that the regular TETFund intervention disbursement to Universities will continue, unaffected. So the NEEDS
assessment capital outlays are in addition to regular TETFund intervention.

Project Monitoring: A new Implementation Monitoring Committee (IMC) for the NEEDS Assessment intervention for universities has been set up to take over from the Suswan
Committee. The new one is under the Federal Ministry of Education and chaired by the Honorable Minister of Education. In addition, to build confidence and ensure faithful implementation and prevent any relapse as before, the Vice President will meet quarterly with the IMC to monitor progress.

Blueprint: ASUU was mandated to submit a blue print for revitalizing the Universities to the Vice President.

Prof. Aluko further stated that a signed
document will soon be issued to itemize the full issues on which the consensus he had outlined here, as brokered by AVCNU, was reached.

phloxyj: Pls this number you are talking about, where are they giving that? Zone 3 or mabushi? Besides,is it diff from d one on the form?

@ FCSC Zone 3!

Here is how I got to know.....I had submitted my form ignorantly at the gate of the commission like every1 else, not until a senior colleague at my place of work (when we got talking) told me I shouldn't have. He linked me up with someone at the commission who got me another form and advised me not to submit at the gate this time. With the help of that person, I was able to submit the form inside this time and was given a number immediately (not the number on the form)....but a serial number of people who submitted inside. I was told that many people will still be screened out (like those who didn't submit complete credentials etc) and a list of those shortlisted will be pasted accordingly to proceed for examination.

Now this is my thought: forms submitted at the gate will be sorted out and shortlisted too.....but one of my fears is that some many forms might get missing. I was opportuned to enter the office where they were sorting out already submitted forms. There were just two of them and you see exhaustion written on their faces. (The forms are just too many). One of them even jokingly said that he would simply ignore any forms that falls to the back of his table. LOL!
I'm not saying the number is an automatic job ticket but it assures of your name been shortlisted. #period!
