Charlotte Brown was killed when she was thrown from a speedboat and into the Thames while on a first date. Her devastated family said she may have survived if she had been wearing a life jacket.
Charlotte, known as Charli, “lived life to the full” and would have been thrilled to take her first trip on a speedboat when she set off after a meal in The Shard skyscraper on Tuesday, her relatives said.

A 28-yr-old man has allegedly admitted following his capture, to flying out from Abuja to Lagos for the sole motivation of stealing, before heading home for the merriments. Ikechukwu Godspower, has as indicated by reports, been sentenced to 6 months in prison with the choice of community service for 72 hours in and around the court premises.
Godspower was captured for submitting a lawful offense by the police and had supposedly admitted to originating from Abuja to Lagos so he could take to observe Christmas back home in the town, answered to be in the south area of Nigeria. As indicated by Fusion News, Godspower had been captured while endeavoring to vandalize a Toyota 4Runner SUV, figuring out how to escape into a trench in the wake of being gotten.
Godspower was later captured at a general store on Osolo Way after supposedly breaking the internal passage glass way to steal from it market.

Days after revealing the major reason why she was depressed, top Ghanaian movie star Yvonne Nelson in a recent interview disclosed that she has found her missing rib and would be having her own children very soon.

Speaking with Lexis Bill of Joy Fm in Ghana, Yvonne Nelson disclosed that: “I have met Mr. Right and am preparing myself to have kids because I love kids.”

A Chinese company demonstrated its developments in construction at unbelievable speed to rebuild the great Sanyuan Bridge in Beijing in less than two days. CCTV America released a time-lapse video of the refurbishment of the bridge showing the talent and speed of Chinese engineering.



The work was requested by the Beijing government, which decided to replace the old Sanyuan Bridge with a new one, which was done in record time. The company took only one day to take down the old bridge, beginning at 11pm on November 13, reports Shanghaiist. 1,300 tons of material was transported to construct the new bridge, and the process was completed in 19 hours. In total, the refurbishment of the bridge lasted less than 43 hours. Chinese workers used a new “integrated replacement method,” which allowed the bridge to open to traffic immediately after the 43 hours of work, instead of having the road closed for at least 2 months as would be expected if conventional construction methods had been used.

27-year-old Brian Tagalog was born without arms, but he has never let this serious adversity keep him from living a normal life. He learned to use his feet to perform mundane tasks, drive a car, fly planes and even ink intricate tattoo designs. The ambitious young man believes he is the only certified tattoo artist without arms in the world.
A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Tagalog moved with his family to Tucson, Arizona, where he attended Sunnyside High School and the University of Arizona. He had always shown an interest in drawing, and set his mind on becoming a professional tattoo artist. Not many people gave him a chance, but he steadily honed his foot drawing skills, and after his aunt helped him buy his first tattoo gun, he learned to operate it with his toes just as well as others did with their hands.
Angie Tagalog, Brian’s mother, admits that raising him was not easy, but she always made it a point to let him explore his options. “The day I gave birth to him, well, I freaked out,” she recalled. “The first year I would cry almost every day. I still do every now and then. But we never hid him. He wore a tank top when he was a newborn. I didn’t shield him in any way.”
And perhaps that’s what gave him the confidence to achieve everything he’s ever wanted, despite the very obvious absence of two limbs. “I was born without arms,” he said. “But that has not slowed me down.”

The Supreme Court sitting in Abuja has fixed February 26, 2016 for the judgement of Rev. Chukwuemeka Ezeugo popularly known as Reverend King who was sentenced to death by hanging by a Lagos State High Court, Ikeja.
He had appealed the death sentence of the Lagos court after pleading not guilty to the allegation against him.
Apearing before the Supreme Court today were Lagos State Attorney-General, Commissioner for Justice, Mr Adeniji Kazeem, the Director of Public Prosecution, Mrs Idowu Alakijaand other Senior Counsel in the State. They urged the court to dismiss court to throw out the appeal and affirm the death sentence judgement.
Justice Walter Onoghen, who presided over the apex court, adjourned for judgment after entertaining arguments from counsel to prosecution and defence in the matter.
Rev. King was arraigned on September 26, 2006 on a six-count charge of attempted murder and murder. He was sentenced to death on January 11, 2007 by Justice Joseph Oyewole, who is now a judge of the Appeal Court sitting in the Calabar division.
The 'pastor' was said to have murdered one of his church members, Ann Uzoh.
The Lagos State Government had said Rev. King poured petrol on Uzoh on August 2, 2006, and the woman died 11 days after the incident. He allegedly did the same to five other persons.
Specifically, he was convicted and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for the attempted murder and death by hanging for the offence of murder.
King had challenged teh verdict before the Court of Appeal in Lagos but the Court threw out the appeal and affirmed the judgement of the High Court.
He then approached the Supreme Court to nullify the judgement. His fate will however be determined next year, Feb. 26.

One of the biggest report about to hit the Nigerian movie industry is how actress Uche Iwuanyawu got chased out of her matrimonial home by her husband, barely three months after their traditional marriage.

According to Media investigation, Godfrey who is also the son of HRH Eze Prince G.A. Nnannah, the Eze Isiala 1 of Nkwerre in Imo state called Uche from his US base and asked her to vacate their matrimonial home; that he was no longer interested in the marriage, and that she should expect his divorce papers soon.
One of Godfrey’s sisters, Judith introduced the couple to each other, and they immediately fell for themselves and not long after they were married.
They had their traditional wedding on August 29th and went their separate ways in early December.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned! And this Brazilian woman has proved it by destroying her husband’s car.
A video of a pregnant woman smashing her spouse’ car for an alleged affair has already become a hit on the Internet. According to local media reports, the unnamed woman flew into a rage after spotting her husband in a company of a young mistress in a restaurant.
Taking a revenge to a whole new level, a furious woman smashed the windscreen, then repeatedly jumped up and down on the roof and threw rocks through the back window. At one point she even starts to rip the rest of the shattered glass with her bare hands.
Several passersby fearing for the woman’s health tried to stop her but in vain. Her cheating husband is believed to be sitting in the restaurant nearby but wisely choosing not to intervene.
It’s unknown whether the woman’s husband had filed a complaint against her as police were not called to the scene. The incident took place in Ceilandia near the Brazilian capital Brasilia on Saturday, December 5.

Ghanaian president, John Mahama and former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo have allegedly fought dirty over Goodluck Jonathan, the immediate past president of Nigeria.

According to The Whistle, the two spat on each other, with the Ghanaian president lashing out at Obasanjo at the African Investment Forum in Westminister, London which held the December 1 and 2. The exchange of words degenerated to insults and name calling as John Mahama openly called Olusegun Obasanjo “an idiot” and a “stupid buffoon”.

Obasanjo had openly accused the Ghanaian President and his government of financially contributing $12m to Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign. He also accused President Mahama of blackmailing and collecting bribes from Nigerian businessmen in Ghana, buying numerous properties in Nigeria and South Africa.
It however took the prompt intervention of Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni to calm down their tempers and usher President Mahama to a nearby room to prevent the insult degenerating to a boxing war.
The forum was attended by African heads of states including like Malawian president, Matata Ponyo Mapon, the prime minister Democratic Republic of Congo, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia, H.E. Thomas Boni Yayi of the Republic of Benin, H. E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Republic of Uganda and H.E. Charles Gaëtan Xavier-Luc Duval, deputy Prime-Minister Republic of Mauritius among others.
Ministers, private equity firms and investors were also at the forum to discuss opportunities for investment and development in African economy.
Just recently, the president of Nigeria, Buhari was in Ghana. He was received by President John Mahama of Ghana at the presidential lounge of the Kotoka International Airport.

The anger, fatigue and frustration that come with everyday problems may make us say things we don’t really mean.
The effects of these words, however, are out of your control and may not be what you expect. Here are the worst things you can say to your kids, no matter how old they are; but especially to little children.

1. “Don’t cry; it’s not a big deal.”
They’re just kids, right? So they have no worries, sorrows, disappointments or fears. As adults, we often make the mistake of thinking this way. Children have just as much, if not more, emotional capacity than adults. The difference is that they can’t express themselves or calm themselves the way we can. Isn’t that much worse? Never belittle a fear, a scratch, a doubt or a conflict that is going on with your child. Help him to react to it and overcome it in a healthy way.

2. “I wish you were more like your brother.”
We gain nothing by comparing our children; but doing so can create resentment among family members. Make sure that comparisons don’t exist in your home. Each of your children is unique and special in his own way.

3. “You can never do anything right.”
Nobody wants to hear this. Imagine the uncomfortable feeling when your innocent daughter hears you say words like that. If your daughter was wrong, broke something, or ruined a cake, take a deep breath and ask yourself what is most important. The answer is always the same: Your children are more important than anything else.

4. “You embarrass me.”
If your child has a tendency to draw attention in public by doing things like yelling, jumping, or running and singing at high volumes, maybe she just needs more attention. Don’t express your embarrassment in front of your friends or even in private. Why not plan a show at home where she is the star? Maybe your child will discover her artistic side and you will have a good time as a family.

5. “You’re fat/ugly/stupid.”
Our children believe what we tell them. We are their most reliable source of information and also the ultimate source of love. Do not damage the self-esteem of your children with negative adjectives. Focus on their strengths instead of emphasizing the negative.

6. “I wish you had never been born.”
I cannot think of anything worse that anyone could tell a little child. Never, in any situation, tell this to your children, even in jest. We all need to know we are wanted and loved, regardless of the mistakes we make.

7. “I’ve had enough; I don’t love you.”
Sometimes, without realizing it, we start joking with our children. Your 3-year-old daughter is frustrated because she can’t eat a second helping of ice cream for dinner. After explaining several times why she can’t have it, she gets angry, cries, and says she does not love you. It would be easy to say the same thing; however, this only damages your daughter. The correct reaction would be to explain again why she can’t have more dessert and remind her that you will always love her, even if she’s angry with you. She will learn much more than you can imagine from this lesson.
With minor adjustments and always considering the feelings and welfare of our children, we can avoid these harmful phrases and have a relationship of love, protection and well-being at home.

A woman was determined to not let anything get in the way of her studies, including the birth of her child. 21-year-old Middle Georgia State University student Tommitrise Collins finished an online test for her psychology class while in labor at Coliseum Medical Center.
Collins’ sister Shanell Brinkley-Chapman posted a picture to Facebook applauding her sister for her determination. “This is what you call ‘Strong Priorities’. Contractions 3 minutes apart and still takes her Psychology Test! You are going to be a great mom baby sis!” She wrote. Collins told Fox 5 News that she only had that day to complete the two hour exam and she also wanted to spend all of her time after delivery with her child.
“It took me 4-5 hours after the opening of the test to try to put the pain to the side and do it so I wouldn’t have to do it later and I could enjoy my newborn,” she said. Collins ended up passing the exam with a “B” and then went on to deliver a healthy seven pound 10 ounce baby girl at 9:19 p.m.

Gunmen shouting Islamic slogans attacked a luxury hotel full of foreigners in Mali's capital Bamako early on Friday morning, taking 170 people hostage, a senior security source and the hotel's operator said.
The raid on the Radisson Blu hotel, which lies just west of the city center near government ministries and diplomatic offices in the former French colony, comes a week after Islamic State (IS) militants killed 129 people in Paris.
The identity of the Bamako gunmen, or the group to which they belong, is not known.
Northern Mali was occupied by Islamist fighters, some with links to al Qaeda, for most of 2012. Although they were driven out by a French-led military operation, sporadic violence has continued.
The security source said as many as 10 gunmen had stormed the building, firing shots and shouting "Allahu Akbar", or "God is great" in Arabic.
The Chinese state news agency Xinhua said several Chinese tourists were among those trapped inside the building.
The company that runs the hotel, Rezidor Group, said it understood that there were two gunmen.
"According to our information, two people are holding 140 clients and 30 employees," it said in a statement quoted by the BBC.
A senior member of the hotel's security detail said two private security guards had been injured in the early stages of the attack, which began at 7 a.m. (0700 GMT).
Witnesses in the area said police had surrounded the hotel and were blocking roads leading into the neighborhood.
The U.S. Embassy tweeted that it was "aware of an ongoing active shooter operation at the Radisson Hotel," and instructed its citizens to stay indoors.
An Islamist group claimed responsibility for the death of five people last March in an attack on a restaurant in Bamako that is popular with foreigners.

Oh! things are happening! Just read this report… The ritual, known as MaiNene, involves exhumed up dead family members, cleaning them and re-dressing them.

With gloves on their hands and nose covers, the people of island of Sulawesi dig out the corpses for the Cleaning of the Corpses Festival.
The ritual which dates back hundreds of years, islanders pay respects to deceased relatives by digging them up, cleaning their corpses and dressing them in their favourite clothes.
The practice, according to them was adopted by the Toraja, who believed the spirits would reward them for taking care of the dead.
Most members of this group consider themselves Christians- many converted after the Dutch colonized the area.
However, old traditions and cultural practices are still very visible within their burial traditions.

Not only were the grooms identical, but so were the brides – and the page boys, flowers girls and even the priests.
The wedding, held in Thrissur, Kerala State on India’s west coast, was everything the brothers had ever dreamed of, the result of a five year, painstaking search for the most identical sisters they could find.
Dinker and Dilraj first decided they would marry identical twin sisters when they were at high school.
From a young age, they were inseparable, spending every minute they could together, always wearing similar clothes – just in case people needed to be reminded they were twins.
‘Even in matriculation exam, we scored similar marks,’ Dinker revealed.

In a recent chat, Mavin records singer Di’ja revealed that she’s single and ready to mingle.
Di’ja said: –
“I am not in a relationship but I am selectively available. If a guy should do the right thing, be himself, if he is kind and nice, then we are good to go.”
When asked about Mavin records, she said, “I have not left my family yet so I do not think I would leave a family that I just adopted. Mavins is my family and I feel like I am home when I am with them. You don’t leave your parents because they shout at you or flog you. I have come to a place where I feel happy and that is all that matters. I am contented with what I have.”
