Interesting post, when I get to Arlanda airport, which means of transport is cheaper to get to Stockholm central? I plan to catch a train to Umeå from Stockholm central. Do you advise that I buy the tickets in advance online or pay at the entry point with my card

Lionize:
ON ARRIVAL: ARLANDA AIRPORT

Arlanda airport is the most popular airport in Stockholm, as perceived by me -that's the only one I've used anyway. The second is Bromma, I've been there but never flown through it. The essence of this post is to help you spend less on commuting in stockholm, if you wish.

To enter in and out of Arlanda airport you have to pay a special fee. I guess all new time travellers coming into Stockholm through the airport paid it, but you can avoid it, and that's the reason I write.

Ordinarily, you get to pay the special fee if you are using the train (pendaltåg), to head to the central station or Upsala.  But if you are taking a taxi from the airport, then you don't have to pay the fee, but the taxi fare is on you.

The cheapest way to deal is to board the SL bus from the airport.  There are other busses you will be introduced to if you ask, and they are not cheaper. It's possible nobody will mention SL (nobody mentioned it to me).

To board the SL bus, you still have to pay anyway, but the pay seems to be the least of all. If you have an SL card, then you could buy a monthly or weekly ticket and travel around as you like. You can do that with the app too.

When I came in, I paid the fee and the gate was opened for me to go down the subway and board the train to Stockholm central station. Then each day I went out I bought a ticket (38kr) that expired after 1.5hrs or so. You know what that means when you are going out to come back later than 1.5hrs, like going to school, it means you'll spend at least 76kr  in a day, it can be more.

On 2 occasions I had to talk to the SL staff to let me pass because the ticket expired like 5mins before and I no wan buy another one to carry me back. When searching for accommodation as a newcomers,  na there you go see how the movement dey be, unless you're just lucky.

So, back to the matter. Ask for where the bus is and be specific that you want to go to the SL bus stand. If they tell you they don't know, then ask where to board a bus, if they show you the way to one 'express' something, then head that direction,  and when you get to where you should climb up, take your left and go down the escalator instead. But if you go miss your way, insist on where to get bus 583 going to Märsta (pronounced as ma-sh-ta). You will go to Märsta first before you move further with the train.

You need the SL card and buy monthly ticket (student ticket is discounted at 650kr, while normal is 970kr).  In my next post I'll share what you need to know about the tickets and how to get it as a student.

Yes.........the details of the course is clearly stated on the application page. The course is for a duration of 3 months (Oct to Jan)

Victosa:
Your screenshot is a unit course, it does not equate to a programme but it can be studied independently. For example if you do the course in the screenshot you will get 15 credit and certificate, not a BSc. Degree.

Loving1:

Does it mean a unit course of 15credit can be studied for just few months?
Travel / Re: Swedish Admissions And Student Visa by Victosa: 10:54pm On Jul 13, 2022
A combination of unit courses make up a program. For example a one year MSc program is 60 credit while unit course can be 7.5 credit, 15 credit. If you're planning to apply for RP, the minimum credit required is 60 credit

Loving1:
What is the difference between Course and Programme?
Once you're applying you'll see some as course and some as programme.

I applied 8th of May. They asked for additional documents on 11th of May mean while they ask me to contact the embassy for interview in the message sent to me by Swedish Migration Agency.
The embassy scheduled my interview for June 3rd. I got a message again form Swedish Migration Agency on 30th June that my information wasn’t in the LADOK. Asked me to contact the school.
Today I received the email that application is granted. So that’s the time graph of the application. I think this also answer for alabajay questions too.
Thanks guys for the congratulatory message. Till we all win.

Thanks for the update, when you first got to Sweden, how much did you spend on winter clothes and is autumn really cold? Do we need to get at least one jacket before we come.

Lionize:
Here, there are second hand stores around. My advice: Before you walk into a second hand store, you may first visit mall of Scandinavia or any other store and look up things (H&M is where I buy my jackets, I now have their membership). Sometimes the second hand clothes are not cheap in comparison, may be better to get a new stuff. Some things are more affordable online.

Yes, I applied alone. Yes also the family will be interviewed on later date from the main applicant. On my interview day, theirs a guy who was going to travel with his family and he was grilled on what will the wife will be doing because I could hear from the other room what he was asked. That’s all I can say about those going with family.

Thanks for the update......Did you apply alone or with your family, I hear they are interviewing not only applicant but spouse also. I saw someone interview
email that said spouses will be interviewed at a later date, possibly from Sept

Hello everyone, am new here but I have being following this Swedish Migration thread for months. I will like to drop my experience in the application journey which might help someone. I have done my interview at the embassy on June 3, 2022 awaiting the application results. From my observations, interview is a must now and I think only few people can escape it at the moment. In addition please go prepared because a prepared questions are sent from Swedish migration agency to the embassy. Lot of questions will be ask, in which a question leads to the next question in that order.
The questions are mainly about your intended studies, what benefits is in it for you and what you’re going to do after the completion of the study. Warning don’t lie please because everything you’re saying is being typed down and will be reread to you after the interview to confirm what you said in all. Lastly, it’s a very long interview depending on how best you answered the questions, therefore take your time while answering and good luck.
P.S your biometric will be taken after the interview.

You need a work permit visa, for you to be eligible for a work permit visa, your family friend need to issue you an employment letter that meet the minimum requirement of migrationverkket. E.g 13k sek before tax salary, health insurance etc. Check migrationverkket website for more information

lifestyle1:

Your POF should be in your account unless you are below 18, then your parents can be your sponsor. Any other type of sponsor's account, you are on a long thing

Dexty10:
Can I use two sponsors for my Migrationsverget application?

Swedish admission portal has option to receive transcript by post. Check the portal properly you will see the postal address and a covering letter that should accompany your transcript . The covering letter will have your unique portal identification number

Imgone:
Please guys I need an urgent clarification. According to the Swedish admissions portal (universityadmissions.se), transcripts from Nigeria MUST be sent by the issuing university in Nigeria to this email verifications@uhr.se. My question is, I contacted my school and they said they can only send transcripts via post and not to email addresses. What do I need to do please?

Congrats on your admission and tuition fee payment. Did you use e-form A for payment? If you did, how long did the processing time take.

For naira rates I normally use xe.com
