[8:54am, 07/07/2014] +234 708 362 9353: Hi All, >> For the purpose of clarity, I have done a little research on the issue of appointment of consultant Nurse, Pharmacist et al and wish to state from my findings that: >> There is NO such thing as Consultant Pharmacist or Nurse existing in GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL OR TEACHING HOSPITAL INSTITUTIONS IN THE US. >> All known consultants are in their privately owned set up. Patronage is from doctors referral of private patients needing private touch. >> This does make sense considering their peculiar society. We do not have old peoples homes or a large number of people requiring and able to afford concierge health services. >> The US government DOES NOT have consultant Pharmacist or consultant nurses or consultant physiotherapists in its public service structure. >> My source of information is from pharmacists employed by US government in John's Hopkins and Veterans Affairs Hospital in US. >> Please let's be properly guided. >> >> Cheers >> Anadu Dike Obinna MD >> Ex NHA Resident (Morbid Anatomy) [8:57am, 07/07/2014] +234 708 362 9353: They are not called CONSULTANT NURSE or CONSULTANT PHARMACIST but NURSE CONSULTANT and PHARMACY CONSULTANT to highlight the roles they are expected to play which is to consult and prescribe on minor ailments in rural areas where doctors are not available, just like the those ascribed to the CHEWS in this country. So they do not work in large government hospitals and are supposed to be supervised though. They are not positions like that of a consultant medical practitioner but terms describing the roles played. > >Dr. D. Sabageh MBBS, FMCPath >Department of Morbid Anatomy & Histopathology >LAUTECH |

If the generality of mankind gathers to pray for u and ur handiwork is evil, ur evil deeds will catch up with you despite their prayers, even if the prayer is said in Jesus' grave and vice versa. |

Allah has not created mankind and Jin for anything other than to worship Him and use the little time we have here to prepare for the timeless hereafter. Remember 1000years of human reconing here is equivalent to a day in the hereafter. Only in the constant remembrance of Allah will the mind find tranquility. 1 Like |

When the Almighty intends to punish a nation, He makes the worst of them their leaders. Most events in the country attest to this fact on a daily basis. |

Neocolonialism, fifty years after he stepped aside the white man still wants to teach us how to run our lives. Destroying the unity of this country by thoughtless amalgamation and implementation of divide and rule among us is'nt enough, 'not cordoning' our collective resolve is the new thing. |

If some comments posted on this and other Nigerian social network sites are use as indexes for measuring the reasoning capacity of the youths of this nation, then we will need to pray really hard, for the future of this country looks gloomy. I m worried. |

It is unfortunate that those that are suppose to be responsible for the regulation of healthcare practises in Nigeria are not doing their jobs. The MDCN, NMA, ARD, the private medical practitioners and the ministry health should create a comprehensive data base of all medical practitioners including expatriates and foreign-trained Nigerian professionals, accessible to everyone all over the world. Enough of this nonsense, lets safeguard the health of our nation. |
