The local sourcing campaign has closed and shortlisted candidates have been forwarded to Total for review.
Application is still open to Internationally based candidates.

You sound like HR. Please do you have any information on total number of people who applied and the number of shortlisted candidates?

Some people got regret mails like 2 mins after the second application due to factors like experience, NYSC, field of degree and ( 2.2 or lower).....

Please do not disseminate information that you are sure of. I am quiet sure that Global Careers and Total have strictly followed the application guidelines and criteria listed in the advert publication. If they didn't, more people would have gotten regret mails by now.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed and see how this recruitment goes. Congratulations in advance to everyone

Thank you for your response.

They later sent the link that day and he applied on their site.

As per the SHL materials, I have alot of them. Don't know how many they are. Just that they are old.

q[sub][/sub]uote author=airsaylongcon post=79054216]

How many SHL materials do you have? How many verbal? Numerical? Are they Assessmentday materials? We can do a swap if we don't have overlapping materials.

Regarding the link, the sender copied himself (herself?) so I guess that's what they'd use to filter whatever they get from Careers in Africa.

Did anyone see the recent opening for Talent Developer? They included a start date of 1-10-2019 which I believe translates to October 1. The others (those that came out on May 21) did not include a start date, at least for the role I applied for. [/quote]

Hello everyone,

Please what's the update on this. What happens to someone who applied and did not get a link to Careers in Africa? Should the person just go to their site and apply?

I have some SHL materials but they are rather old like since 2014. Does anyone have current materials?

Thank you.

Rubbish

These items you mentioned are not grown in commercial quantity in the South. Even ordinary garri for Abia and Imo state is purchased from Benue state in "commercial "

As for rice, forget that sef. I suggest you try shopping in the Nort, even Abuja for food items. Then you will understand that Southerners are more into buying and selling.NOT FARMING. The North and Middle Belt FEED Nigeria.

GTBANK has rather slow customer service but their tellers are faster and friendlier. They are pretty good with crowd management.

STANBIC IBTC should win an award for the slowest tellers in the banking industry. Their customer service personnel are better than Gtbank

ACCESS completely lost it for.awhile but they are better now. Some of their Tellers sha can be very slow.

ECOBANK. I can never run an account there unless by force. They are not customer friendly and their staff exhibit high handedness that's crazy.

UBA still remains UBA. Not much talk

OTHERS; LIke Firstbank, Zenith, Sterling etc fall within the range of sweetness their bank network allows them..

So MTN nigeria or as a group makes 5.2 billies of Benjamin Franklin faces in a day or two. I wan vex before but then I realized it was most likely Friday night where you were and you prolly were at some dingy joint, getting intoxicated on paraga. Stay away from gutter brew young females if you don't want to display ignorance on a global forum.
AT&T and Verizon are the biggest networks in the us,how much them make as income in 2014? 130 billion average ,divide that by 350 and ur statement is obviously a regurgitation of beer parlor poo.popular statements that are hinged on the delusions of ignorant ppl. MTN nigeria might make 5.2 billion in a day,but it obviously would be in your dreams and certainly not in dollars.
You need to be wearing pads over your mouth cos Madame you be menstruating sh.it!

Not surprised with your response. Like I said before, do your research well before opening your mouth. By the way, it's naira we use in Nigeria not Dollars. Go online and check the exchange rate.

I do not argue with people who have no etiquette. It's sad you just made all your arguments baseless by resorting to insults on the female gender.

Your Mother should really spank you for being so rude.

I have been away from this forum for a minute, but I just can't take the foolishness of nigerian youth anymore. For all of you asking for the head of MTN,I hope buhari doesn't foolishly listen to yo all.how can you charge a 1 trillion dollars fine, for what! It is alarming that NCC would slam such a ridiculous amount on MtN,in other words they are educating the masses on how to reap where you have not sown.
As a disclaimer,I am Nigerian,I have never owned an MTN line and I do not work in telecoms . NCC are a bunch of jokers,MTN wild be extremely foolish to pay this fine and Nigeria will be far too myopic to endorse the collective death of enterprise. The joker called Mugabe seized land belonging to white Rhodesians for generations when he had nothing else to offer after years of kleptocracy, but with the redistribution ,where is Zimbabwe today? Didn't Venezuela nationalize the oil companies, where are they today? The foolish guy that started their headache is dead and gone but the people s till dey suffer.
What could be more moribund than Nitel and you people are hoping SA wild abandon their sweat so like Nigerians do,u can joyfully eat a meal prepared by another.afterall we hear stories everyday of hardworking men dying only for their loved ones to be rendered incapacitated by hawk eyed scavengers that call themselves brothers of the deceased.
Even if they gave you a trillion dollars!you would squander it without the ability to work hard, develop infrastructure and plan for the future.i hope MTN leaves so you can understand what a tsunami of economic disasters feel like.Apart from GT bank,I seriously want to be educated about how many globally acclaimed brands have emanated from Nigeria. What a shame, but post arpatheid, the South Africans are still schooling us. Just tell me the worthy replacement of dstv ,I laugh at the level of economic ignorance exhibited here by supposedly well educated but in my own opinion broader picture bankrupt Nigerians.

Calm down and stop your foolish inference/ logic.

MTN makes that amount charged in the fines in just 2 days, so they are fully capable of paying. They have severally violated regulations and totally ignore complaints laid against them. Treat Nigerian government agencies like flies on their backs. Since they agreed to this, they should pay up and stop whining unnecessarily.

As for great Nigerian brands, there are many more than Gtbank. Do your research well before you open your mouth.

OPTION 1; If you were in Cross River State, there are several animal sanctuaries and NGO's who would gladly take care of it until it can go back to the wild. Find any around your area.

OPTION 2; please take it back to the area where it was found, leave it, and come check about 1 hr later. The probability is that the Mother would show up to take care of its young.

OPTION 3; Do a serve to humanity and all the animals by taking care of it, get advice from NGO's, YouTube and others before reintegration into the wild.

Please don't let your brother kill that cutie for food. Wish I could come pick it and help.

The CBN has once again demonstrated that she wants banks to function optimally and efficiently. whilst on the other part, the do not seem to care so much about protecting customers from certain practices that are a result of her own policies.

Until the CBN modifies her policy on the perforation of ATM cards at the source where it was forgotten, Card spending limits, withdrawal charges, card reissuance charges, and so many more that would make me happier , I remain aggrieved.

The perforation of ATM cards for instance should be left with the Issuing Bank after they receive it. Not forcing one to pay for new cards, over the counter charges and endure tired customer servic.

Music/Radio / Re: Nigerian Artistes And The Lip-synching Syndrome by Xvenus(f): 10:13am On Sep 15, 2015
Sanchez01:
I made up my mind ever since two years ago not to punish myself over attending musical shows involving Nigeria artistes, both Gospel and Secular. Reason for this has been best known to me from day one - our artistes are lazy, an eyesore and arrogant on stage.

So I was at the Eko Hotels yesternight for the Glo Laffta Fest. Who doesn't love a comedy show? For mesmiley, it was the best moment to ease myself of the many pressures I've been subjected to of late. Honestly, I had forgotten that music was added. I guess I wasn't really expecting a thing from any of the artistes. The code has worked ever since; love their songs over the air (TV and radio), avoid their live performances like a plague.

After laughing to no end, Burna Boy, just like every other Nigerian act came up without a single back up. It was solo, perhaps more money to him. Calling on DJ Jimmy Jatt at intervals, I could remember Burna Boy singing over six songs within 10 minutes. Which successful artistes does this

Within 15 minutes, Burna Boy had almost finished his album. His average time for each was 2 minutes each, worst of all, they were all lip-synced

The presence of DJs at shows meant for artistes have done more harm than good over the years and this is in turn affecting our music beyond the shores of Africa. The cliché has been the same over the years; they come on stage with the intention to "sing along" all in the name of performance.

It doesn't make sense attending events and all you hear on the stage is "DJ! Let's Go!!" and all you see afterwards is the annoying, regular, unrepentant and unprofessional catwalks they exhibit on the stage. Parambulating like it's a fashion show.

For Pete's sake we watch other foreign acts and they don't do all these. I keep a particular video close to my heart, a live video of Jay Z (a rapper) performing "Young Forever" with Beyoncé. One would think we have not started compared to these folks. We claim our music has attained a reasonable standard, yet they all tow the same line, boring walks, calling on DJ's to play the next track just to "sing along" or lip sync in the name of performance.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmfmdKOLzVI

Although the subsequent comedies from Basketmouth, Bovi, I go dye and others resuscitated the show. Perhaps our artistes would fare better if they don't sing, come to the show, sign autographs and go home because I can't fathom how they justify the word "performance".

Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Beyoncè, 50cents, Ashley Simpson, the great R-Kelly, Jennifer Hudson, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears among others have been caught in the lip-synching SCANDAL at some point in their careers, yet we brandish it in Nigeria like nothing is wrong with it.
www.forbes.com/sites/michelecatalano/2013/01/25/from-michael-jackson-to-beyonce-a-brief-history-of-lip-syncing/

Perhaps this explains why our glorified international acts struggle in the international scene, save for those who take their shows to these folks. Life, as far as music is concerned is beyond cut and paste in the studio. It continues on the stage not with mediocrity but giving your all.

I honestly couldn't wait to leave the venue after seeing Korede Bello, Dija, and Reekado Banks trying to find their way to the backstage to prepare at about 10:30pm. The scenario is all too familiar; better to have me listen to your songs in my house than see you jumping around while you sing your 2 mins songs with the cliché "DJ! Let's go!!"

PS: For those who don't know, lip-synching is considered offensive and highly scandalous if roped around an artiste in saner climes.

Cc
Lalasticlala

I was at a similar show, GLO SLIDENBOUNCE PH. Burnaboy did the same LOL

I was patient however to wait for classic acts like Flavor Nabania to perform. He wasn't lipsynching and even left stage for awhile when the sound system went off. That was a class act. Also watched Bez perform and he was another class act. Talk about quality and stage command.

Wish artist like Burnaboy can just learn from people like Flavor and Bez!

Am not from Rivers State but I know this fact which many of them deny. Amaechi did alot for them in respect of roads and education. He gave them the first set of well dualized roads they have ever seen since independence.

People are so forgetful of good governance when they see it. Imagine this, Amaechi 's roads have stood the test of time on his tenure while Rochas roads couldn't even wait 2 years before they shamed him!

BTW, congratulations to Gov. Wike for his good work so far.

Decency is very relative. That's the problem with Nigerian society, we feel we have a high sense of morality but we lack it in every way. I did my 1st degree in Nigeria n now i'm doing my masters abroad. The difference is very clear, nobody bugs students about what they wear because it's a university n it's an institution 4 adults, nobody has d right 2 dictate 2 u what u wear but the more important things wc is academics n morals is visible here. Everyone respects everybody whether lecturer or student, lecturers come on time 4 their classes n r readily available 4 consultation, when u work hard u get d result of ur hardwork, no stupid lecturer can victimise u cos he doesn't like u or he wants to have sex with u, no cultism, u can go out n come back whatever time u like n nobody will harass or molest you. This is the definition of morality and not making stu.pid dress codes in an institution full of cultist n stu.pid lecturers.

You have a point. But remember that the standards abroad are not the same here. Also, religion, and cultural values rank high in Africa. I was at IMSU when the first rule for dress codes started. Frankly, the lecturers and other students complained that certain attires were very distracting. It also served as a way of checkmating what some people refer to "IMSU Ashawo". I still despise that generalization today.

Western countries have their standards and IMSU has theirs. It's takes a good student to abide by both.

at a time like this,, I can't but conclude that we Nigerians deserve the kind of leaders we've got..

Here is a man TRYING to develop his state.. TRYING to make things easier for most especially the students in his state.. Here's a governor TRYING to set a new trend,, yet those simpletons are quick to ridicule him..

His only crime being that he associated with APC.. So whatever he does can never be right in their eyes..

I pity this country.. we are quick to condemn a man cos of his party affiliation,, yet we are quick sing praises for an incompetent and corrupt man just cos he's from our tribe.. What a foolish mentality.. Let's see where it'll take us all..

It's sad that some people still reason like you do. We Nigerians deserve the best of quality in whatever is given to us. Not mediocre, poor quality roads or education. Do you imagine the numerous safety standards alone that "Laptop" has violated?

Am not partisan but I say we deserve QUALITY not QUANTITY. Is Imo state so cursed or undeserving that she cant get quality roads like those seen in FCT? or schools with quality educational materials? I schooled at IMSU and I still remember that my FGGC labs were better equipped than the ones there.

We deserve better. Everything done is worth doing well!

Why has GEJ not been cautioned even in the face of his excesses?

Caution you say?

This election is the first time ever that I have heard Buhari come out to caution his supporters. Did he caution them to a free and fair election last time? Those of us in the North saw what his supporters did to people who refused to abide by their orders.

so my friend, Pls leave South East out of this matter. while most of them are busy shouting "one Nigeria " others submit themselves to regional sectionalization.

You can start a thread on your opinion about the South East East. Here it is Jega's matter that is being discussed.

The south east ( no bigotry) has allowed it self to be blinded by unforgiveness and it is only going to have a very damning consequence on the whole nation.

Posterity won't forget/forgive us all.

You talk so blindly! The South East has a right to support who ever they like and will not be bullied into submission by all you who have not read your history books appropriately!

Has posterity forgiven the North for under developing Nigeria and killing thousands?

Other things to avoid :
1) Don't borrow shirts, shoes, trousers and tie to impress. Though Be yourself doesn't mean you can be unkempt and smelly. Just be neat.

2) Don't go acting like you have the keys to the vault of CBN, because once she accepts you that way, you MUST keep up to the expected standards of expenditure. By the way, some girls get turned off by extravagant men. I am one of them.

3) Girls get tired of hearing the same bunch of lines get rolled out by different men. Avoid the usual rethorics rather impress with your intelligence, knowledge of various topics. Smart girls like smart/intelligent guys. You will be amazed at how easily you guys will get along.

My.office over looks the railway line in PH and I can't count the number of times I have watched those broken down, old looking trains go by. It's like asking one to leave a comfortable modern day Car for a ramshackled-problematic run down car.

They rehabilitation here was the pouring of gravel, and replacing old parts with slightly better old parts. I expected much better from the government.
