The Appeal Court on Tuesday, upheld the election of Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha. The court delivered the judgment following an appeal filed by the Action Alliance, All Progressives Grand Alliance, AA, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, challenging the election of Ihedioha. All appellants argued in their appeals that Ihedioha did not obtain the constitutionally required one-quarter of votes cast in at least, two-thirds of the 27 local government areas of the state, as provided under Section 179 of the Constitution. They urged the court to set aside the decision of the tribunal and declare them winner of the election. Alternatively, the appellants prayed the court to order a rerun. https://www.ogbeta.ng/2019/11/imo-guber-gov-ihedioha-floors-okorochas.html?m=1
