Romance / Re: Naija Men And Zim Men The Beef by zimbabwean: 5:56pm On Oct 23, 2010
WOW how did this thread end up about zimbabwe bashing?

As a zimbabwean that has been to nigeria (since im married 2 some1 from there) i can truelly say that nigeria is not as bad not all of it is bad,

BUT for a country that is supposed to be the 2nd giant of africa i was disapointed to be honest, I mean infrastructure wise did not meet to my expectations. Economically nigeria is richer than zimbabwe thats a fact. But in terms of basic things like education ,accomodation, infrastructure other african countries are well better than nigeria

Maybe its just that there is so many people in nigeria hence overcrowdness in some areas and too much slams.
for a country with ONE of the best economies in africa you would expect running water but people have to buy water, no electricity for months at times, schools that are not up to international standards at my uni now they're asking for nigerian international students to take extra english classes. As a country with one of the biggest oil reserves you would expect the money to be used for building better roads etc and i thought this is the country that is not controlled by whites right? well i can definate;ly say you're doing well.

As for nigeria having the biggest number of international students--thats nothing to brag about we know 90% of these are children of corrupt government officials stealing money that should be used to develop naija , Some of them come here and they later struggle but because of love of money & good life they turn to fraud, who doesnt know that. the majority of your people cant afford to send their kids to school in nigeria let alone abroad. Instead why not use all that money to have better quality universities and schools . so that people that cant afford can have a chance as well. Now if you didnt study abroad you dont have that much of a chance to get a good job. so poor people are disadvantaged. so why brag about the 20% what about the rest. No-one can doubt that your economy is BIG but only on paper with nothing to show of it.

Zimbabwe is improving economically now and now we own our farms britain is depoting us back to our country so im sure we can start afresh and build a great economy with the help of our fellow african men,

Atleast i can justify my reply with the fact that ive actually been to both african countries, Im not basing my opinions on what dead bc says,

good day people grin grin
Romance / Re: Naija Men And Zim Men The Beef by zimbabwean: 12:48pm On Oct 23, 2010
at GL so they say positive things about nigeria do they

wow let me tell you the programs they have shown on BBC about nigeria this year alone,

1) the one about the people who stay on the ribbish dumps.
2) the one where the government is chasing people away from their slums.
3) the one where they are showing the area boys-- the leader was MC or something like that,
4) the one about the WHY day or something like that when no-one is allowed to walk the street because you have to clean , people come to inspect your houses
4b)The one where nigera has one of the worst healthcare services in africa
5) the one about the terrorist nigerian guy
6) the one where the christians and moslems were killing each other
7) the one where the senetor married a 12yr old.
coolthe one where the rich bank lady stole more than a billion usd and was keeping it in HSBC
9)the one about how nigerans are doing fraud.
10) the one where the government control the oil but is too corrupt,
11)the one about the witch children on chanel 4 where children are accused of being witches and are burnnt etc.

NOW GL does this give the correct picture of NIGERIA because thats the only stories i have seen or heard in the media here in the uk. Does that mean we as non-nigerioans should judge the whole country because of the above stories? Or is there more to NIGERIA than what the BBC shows,  If you can answer the question then you will know that what you might have read about zimbabwe is not all true and there is more to the country than just the mugabe saga,

thank you
Romance / Re: Stressed By A Naija Guy by zimbabwean: 12:35pm On Oct 23, 2010
poster ---

im sorry but i find you very annoying, All you do is post about how naija men prefer zim women, how naija men hate zim men,
You are obssesed with naija men and to me it looks like you need to see a shrink, angry

Im personally married to a man from nigeria but im not obssesed and i dont start billions of threads about nigerian men dating zim women etc, I would have married him even if he was from zim or white because i fell in love with him as a person not his nationality, cheesy

Some of us come here to learn more about nigerian the culture, economy etc, because since i have half nigerian kids i feel its my duty to teach them the nigerian part of their heritage,
Romance / Re: Naija Men And Zim Men The Beef by zimbabwean: 12:25pm On Oct 23, 2010
Yes we all know that, But as a person that has relatives that have benefited and know other people that have benefited i can say the process has actually done some good, It has changed a lot of peoples lives, I know there has been corruption and all but all im saying at least now the majority own the land, thats a start,

What we need now is a different president who can help these people buy new equipment etc, But the moral of the story is it all starts by empowerment , I personally dont agree with Mugabes way of doing things but honestly it doesnt take a genious to figure out that 10% of the population shouldnt own 90% of the land , And leave 10% for the majority 90% , The poster i replied seemed to suggest that we should have left things the way they were,
Romance / Re: Naija Men And Zim Men The Beef by zimbabwean: 12:12pm On Oct 23, 2010
I dont know why the poster is trying to make it seem like nigerian & zimbabwean men are at war,  Thats not true, There is no competition WHAT THE HELL FOR
THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THAT GOING ON.

this site is getting disgusting too much tribalism ,  If we as africans keep on looking down upon each other how is our continent going to  develop
We all know Africa as a whole has a long way to go,  We know zimbabwe is currently going through economic hardships but all i see is other africans laughing how disgressful? On the other hand in nigeria corruption one woman stealing more than a billion dollars which can feed a small country like zimbabwe and for south africa a very rich country but still run by whites,  We kill and laugh at each other when  we should be empowering each other,

As for the person that said zimbabweans are jelous because Nigeria took the whites we chased away to run your farms,  All i can say is you are  very silly,  Whats wrong with us black zimbabweans growing and exporting our own food it wasnt fair for 10% of the economy to own 90% of the land, so please go FIGURE, And lets see if those whites will make all the problems nigeria has go away ---- i bet they will still invest their profits in eauropean banks , how is africa benefiting then Has prices of stuff gone down because those white farmers came to nigeria now?

I dont think we can go to the point of saying there is poverty in zimbabwe, thats not true just MEDIA propaganda, Nowdays they are plenty of nigerians in zim but i doubt you will see any zim person in naija maybe due to marriage only,

Romance / Re: Is Havin A Small boob A Stigma by zimbabwean: 7:54pm On Jun 21, 2010
Ummm i have a small bossom round bossom and im just generally small. Which is a big stigma especially because im from Zimbabwe and the girls there have huge ones.BUT to be honest i have never had any problems with men not liking me. I am about to get married and funny enough my hubby to be loves the fact that im very tiny.

And also i can honestly say for me GIRLS are the ones that make fun of how my bum & boobs are, So i think wether you're a size 8,12,16,20 there is someone out there for everyone, Dont go around buyying padded pants and all that stuff God created everyone in a different way thats why we're unique.

I have come to accept my body the way it is even though like every1 else i have my own insecurities, But the're bigger problems out there than having a smaller bum or a not so large penus.
Romance / Re: How Do I Handle Nigerian Men? by zimbabwean: 7:42pm On Jun 21, 2010
Im sorry to say but i dont think this is a healthy relationship,

How can you come on the internet and ask random people about how you should handle "your man".
pLUS you cant handle anybody you can only love and you need to know whats good for you. Dont be desperate for a man like this.
I dont think its relavent wether he is nigerian or not, Its about how you carry urself and who you choose.

I think you firstly kind of need to know what you want then maybe you will meet a good man that you will love for the right reasons

Im sorry if i sounded a bit judgemental but something about this aint right and i dont think anyone can give you advice on this because THEY DONT KNOW YOUR BOYFRIEND

i wish you all the best ,
Romance / Re: Too Much Bride Price ! by zimbabwean: 11:35am On Jun 07, 2010
its 6000 british pounds, Now zimbabwe is using US Dollars which will be about $8000 usd,

The thing is that in my country bride price is one of the most important things and its very expensive mind you the 6000 pounds will not only be in cash it will include a heard of cattle, some groceries, and also i am meant to get some money from there its tradition, Many people are getting married for about 5,000 pounds but i thought my family would be different since they are well off. undecided undecided undecided and i didnt think they would charge as much, cry

@ Na2day ---i think your comment kind of shows a bit of ignorance, angry. The only person that can say that is someone that hasnt been to zimbabwe before. Just because a country has been farcing some political issues does not mean it is backward. I suggest you go around africa and explore the world rather than what you watch on bbc. It wouldnt be fair if i judge nigeria by what i saw on that BBC program "welcome to lagos" because i know that not everyone in nigeria leaves in a dumpster etc angry, Zimbabwe is a developing country so is nigeria and most african countries,

ps Now zimbabwe is using USD so when conveting pounds to USD it aint that different since the pound dropped undecided
Romance / Re: Too Much Bride Price ! by zimbabwean: 1:21am On Jun 07, 2010

Romance / Too Much Bride Price ! by zimbabwean: 3:38pm On Jun 06, 2010
My family has decided to charge my soon to be husband £6.000 pounds. angry angry
I personally think this is a lot of money and considering our different cultures im sure they being too hard on bf. What shall i do?

I want him to pay something since its my culture but not this much , What shall i do because this is a non negotiable thing. I dont want my boyfriend to be in debt only because he has to pay money to my family. I feel like im being sold and its so depressing, embarassed

My boyfriend said he will try to negotiate but i know he aint happy because with that we could have added 4 more grand and deposited on our mortgage, cry

Ohh goshhh i guess this is day two of pre wedding nerves,

Romance / Pre Wedding Nerves by zimbabwean: 12:34am On Jun 06, 2010
I am getting married to My boyfriend of 3n half yrs in 3mnths time, I know im making the right descision but its been hard work and heart ache
Everyone i know have told me im making the biggest mistake of my life marrying a nigerian guy--caz they lie, cheat, or leave me later for a naija girl.
He too has been told by some people that why marry a southern african girl they are prostitutes ,have hiv etc.

BUT this is the guy that i have known since i was 19 and i love him so much and iknow he loves me too.

Im just writting this as a testimony that you dont know who God gives you. I never in a million years imagined i would marry someone from West Africa but somehow its happening and it feels so right, I know it aint going to be a walk in the park but all marriages are hard work no matter where you are from, Im going nigeria in december and i cant wait to meet my mother in law-----Im also nervous of meeting my inlaws for the 1st time, ;

Ohhh i think im getting pre wedding nerves cry cry cry
Thanks

Romance / Re: Nigerian Guys And Zimbabwean Girls by zimbabwean: 2:41am On May 19, 2009
ummm so i suppose they go and marry back home later. Personally i think nigerian girls need to open up and mix a little bit you know undecided. So we can get to know you better.  wink There is a difference between being easy and being out going and sociable. Mix with other cultures as well. My campus is in a village in south england  and there are loads of nigerian girls but they just hang around in their circle, when i talk to them they are nice and say hie but they always expect you to start conversating.? embarassed I know loads of people but i would like to hang around my black sisters as well.
Romance / Re: Nigerian Guys And Zimbabwean Girls by zimbabwean: 2:03am On May 19, 2009

Romance / Nigerian Guys And Zimbabwean Girls by zimbabwean: 1:42am On May 19, 2009
Hie guys. I was just wondering why loads of nigerian guys seem to be dating other nationalities more undecided.
I am a zimbabwean girl and i have noticed that most zim girl in the UK is dating or has dated a nigerian, I asked some naija boys i know and some of them said zimbabwean girls are easy embarassed others said that nigerian girls are too uptight and after money whilst others said zim girls know how to treat men.

I then noticed that nigerian girls at my uni and community usually keep to themselves and i think they are maybe the most behaved compared to other african girls. So is it because nigerian brothers are looking for something easy but not seriouse or are my nigerian sisters taking the chase too far therefore chasing their boys away?

thanks a lot
