I just heard this same report on Channels TV and it is clear that the 4000MW is an addition that will be made to the present generation capacity, the person that wrote the report presented here should go back to journalism school . |
Politics / Re: Power Projects At 80% Completion, Says Govt by zoraro(m): 2:32pm On Sep 08, 2011 |
80% is good enough for me. For the past weeks I have hardly used my generating set here in Lagos, If this level can be maintained I for one will be more than happy. But, as is usual people are already giving the credit to the Lagos State government, I don,t know if this people are just plain stu.pid or they simply will never/cannot wish good for anyone else but there own. It is obvious now that the problem is not megawatts generated but reducing or eliminating the wasted capacities. |

I was looking forward to watch the match live only to realize now that it was played 7PM not 9PM as this thread made me to believe . Here is the fixtures for the remaining matches, Time and Date are in Nigerian Time.

Sports / Re: Afcon Qualifier: Madagascar Vs Nigeria (0 - 2) On 4th September 2011 by zoraro(m): 3:29pm On Sep 05, 2011 |
Everybody please there's no need for all the name calling. @femi4 and ifenadi you are not interpreting the rules properly, Nigeria has -1 GD and Guinea +1 GD right now (2. Goal difference in games between the teams concerned;) not +7 GD and +8 GD respectfully (which is the overall GD for all matches) as you are saying. So a 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 etc. win for Nigeria will all result in +0 GD for both teams like I said earlier. It was a mistake like this that caused us not going to the 2006 Germany world cup. |
Sports / Re: Afcon Qualifier: Madagascar Vs Nigeria (0 - 2) On 4th September 2011 by zoraro(m): 10:12am On Sep 05, 2011 |
femi4: Yes there can be a tie, the goal difference of the matches between the teams is more important than the overall goal difference. If Nigeria wins by 2-1, 3-2 etc. the GD will be +0 for both teams, then away goals will then be used to break the tie. |

manny4life: If they stop looting the state treasury it will go a long way to alleviating the problem besides, a good economist will give 1001 ways they can generate revenue but little can be done if they are not willing to put an end to the needless waste that corruption is causing. This American style Presidential democracy we are practicing is also obviously too expensive for the country to continue with. |
Sports / Re: Afcon Qualifier: Madagascar Vs Nigeria (0 - 2) On 4th September 2011 by zoraro(m): 11:57pm On Sep 04, 2011 |
CAF Tie-breaking rules for this competition states that
If Nigeria wins Guinea by 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 etc. The rules will be interpreted like this, 1. Nigeria 3 pts vs Guinea 3 pts = draw 2. Nigeria 0 GD vs Guinea 0 GD = draw 3. Nigeria 1 goal vs Guinea 1 goal = draw 4. Nigeria 0 goal vs Guinea 0 goal = draw (Guinea wins if they score goals eg. 2-1, 3-2 i.e away goals rule) 5. Nigeria +8 GD vs Guinea +7 GD = Nigeria wins So Nigeria can qualify with even a single goal win over Guinea but Guinea wins if they score goals by away goals rule. If Guinea scores a goal(s) then Nigeria must win with at least two goals margin to qualify using rule #2 which comes into play before rule #4. |

Shouldn't these Governors be thinking more of generating higher internal revenue which can't be touched by the Fed Gov?. It's really sad, besides, were they sleeping when the law was been passed or are they saying the National Assembly do not have powers to make laws again?. |

No, they don't. To qualify as a second best team you need a minimum of 7 points from matches between the top three group teams. If Cameroon win against Congo they will have 5 points. Ergo NO CHANCE TO QUALIFY. I don't know about this 7 points thing, but the same most apply to all groups, have you factored this for second placed teams in groups A-J. Yes. But Malawi is in the driving seat. The table I have says Tunisia has 11 pt, +6 GD to Malawi's 11 pt, +5 GD. |
Sports / Re: Afcon Qualifier: Madagascar Vs Nigeria (0 - 2) On 4th September 2011 by zoraro(m): 8:37pm On Sep 04, 2011 |
Wow, intriguing! Egypt are definitely out, but Cameroon still stand a very very slim chance of qualifying as one of the two best second placed teams to qualify. P.S. There is a decent chance we won't have ANY NORTH AFRICAN TEAMS! Only Morocco look favourite to qualify, Group K's two top teams qualify automatically like you observed, so Tunisia stands a good chance of making it. Tunisia has +6 GD vs. Malawi's +5 GD, so they have a slight advantage over Malawi. |
Sports / Re: Afcon Qualifier: Madagascar Vs Nigeria (0 - 2) On 4th September 2011 by zoraro(m): 8:29pm On Sep 04, 2011 |
Guinea has 13 points with +8 goal difference while Nigeria has 10 points with +7 GD. Therefore, a 1-0 win for Nigeria against Guinea in the final group match will actually be enough for Nigeria to qualify outrightly i.e Nigeria 13 pt, +8 GD vs. Guinea 13 pt, +7 GD. Of course, Guinea will still stands a good chance of been one of the two best second placed teams and qualify also. Nigeria will still top the group as long as we win by at least a goal margin, 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 or whatevever. |

Will the Eagles be able to beat Guinea when they come here for the final group match, goal difference may even come into play even if they are beaten here?. [Edited] |

mikeansy: (6) Any appointment made pursuant to paragraphs (a) and (e) of subsection (2) of this section shall be at the pleasure of the President and shall cease when the President ceases to hold office; From the above, it is crystal clear that a President can appoint somebody who was/is not a civil servant to be SGF. So those who are showing their ignorance by telling us how the past 16 SGFs were civil servants should please educate themselves. Sen. Anyim has never ever occupied any government appointed position before (he was a senator which any intelligent person should know is not a government appointment). So why the silly talk of recycling?. |

If Nigeria splits then I will really pity the Northern Christians because they will definitely become second class citizens in the new country. I use to support the splitting of the country but not any more, all Nigerians have a right to leave where they want, but I think Christians living in the North (Northerners and Southerners) should be watchful and avoid anything that may be used as an excuse by the heartless murderers to attack them. The Government should also be more proactive security wise, I don't know why there wasn't a step-up in military/police presence in most major cities in the North during this election season. Perpetrators that are caught should also be made an example of. |
