mr.drizzy:
checking d signal frequency of s.a 2100 works in nigeria

Thanks, i just checked the signal frequency for my SA network provider and it is GSM 900 while the Network specification on the infinix x502 says:
Network 3G:2100/ 850MHz
2G: 850/900/1800/1900MHz

Does it mean that i can only access 2G with the fone in SA.

Hello Guys...I saw the infinix x502 @Slot this week and it was surely love at first sight...Its feel and looks matches the iphones, samsungs etc and i am passionately interested in buying the phone.

Guys, what i only want to know is if long hours of charging the fone does not make it extremely hot and also where i can get it in Ibadan...The price tag @slot ibadan is 49K which scares compared to jumai @40K.
Since screen is not gorrila, what best way can one protect the screen from scratch...

Thank You

You may start a business in the RSA if you have the permission from the Department by means of being in possession of a business permit but you have just be granted study permit which only permit you to study, I wonder why you want to do business with a study permit. Meanwhile a business permit is issued in terms of section 15 of the Immigration Act, 2002 (Act No 13 of 2002), read with regulation 24. This permit is issued to a foreigner who intends to invest in or open an own business in the Republic.

What are the requirements?
(a) Duly completed application form BI-1738.
(b) Passport valid for no less than 30 days after the expiry of intended visit.
...................

Note: If the business no longer maintains the capitalisation requirement, the permit may be withdrawn. A business permit may be issued for 24 months at a time. Work permit/business permit requirements are somehow difficult to gather individually, that is why many people use immigration lawyer to apply for permit.

Thanks for your response . I thought about doing that but I saw they required some documents to be presented by the person making payment in SA and I am in Naija right now. how long did it take for confirmation after the person made payments. My school did not indicate the number of months to pay for so I want to pay for 6months.i may pay by master card today . Collinsfbi I would appreciate your imput. my program is actually one that I go to SA twice a year for two weeks each, its a 2yr masters course. I was there in January on a visitors visa cos there was no time to apply for study permit.i spent about 18dys and returned.

but I am thinking if I should get another visiting visa in june and apply for study permit in SA on my next trip or get it here now.i have registered for course and have a letter from the faculty to the embassy also student i.d.

Hello Again,

Its easy when you pick up your phone and call your sch to ask questions like the least number of months for the health insurance. I forwarded the documents to Momentum myself after the individual paid for me, check some of the previous pages on this thread, a NLNDR once gave me the number for their account section which i called to speed up the confirmation when i noticed it was taking more days. Then i forwarded the docs directly to her. I later received the first and second confirmation.

I would like to know how you went about payment to momentum and how much you paid because I want to apply for a study permit soon and want to get the health insurance. How many months did you pay for? Thanks for your response.

Anyone that knows is free to make comments. Thanks.

It depends on How many months your sch stated, I paid for 9Months and had the money sent to someone who paid the equivalent in Rand. Learnt from Nairaland that u can also pay with you ATM MasterCard...If you paid with your ATM, you wait for some days for the confirmation...You only submit the confirmation which bears your member's No, Doctors Name etc

Hello Friends;

Pls i am trying to book for my Flight Ticket(South Africa Airways). I was planning to book a return ticket for about 300days since i cant book a return ticket for more than a year. My plan was to extend the ticket when the return date is close by, BUT i someone just told me that the return date can't be extended and selling the ticket in south africa may not be easy or possible....

Please whats the best solution in this scenario....My Study permit is up to 2yrs and i am not planning on coming back till then.

thanks for your response.
that is some serious expense there(the cost of going to and from Lagos and hotel accommodation).
but may I know why that from Abuja is not accepted?

Hello Again, I don't seem to know why the PR from abuja is not accepted at the SA Abj embassy, i did witness a refusal last week when a friend came all the way from PH with no PR, then he tried all his best to get one from Abj...On presenting it at the embassy, The lady refused to accept it...Not only his case as other pple Have being refused submission due to the Abj PR.

The Physical diff to me is that the Lagos PR is a Certificate while that from Abj is a TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN kinda Letter. And also, the Forensic Dept for the Nigerian Police seem to be located @ CID.

What you may do because of travelin Cost, You can have your fingerprint sent to someone in lagos who will then take it to CID alagbon to get the Certificate. PR is @ 5K+. Note, You may need to know a policeman to help out. They may charge you more for not being present.

PS: Just a suggestion, I'm not sure if above will work.

Thanks

Don't try getting your police report from abuja...They don't accept it except from CID Alagbon in Lagos.

Hello Friends,

Please, i will kindly appreciate if you can share your contribution on this:

After submission of my application at the embassy in Abuja, I later met someone who said his Study permit application was denied because the admission letter he submitted did not bear the duration of study and hence, his application was not granted, he was told to get the doc and re-apply again.

My Question: Has anyone been granted visa lately without the duration of study on your admission letter, cause isn't on mine. The lady at the embassy didn't ask for it and i don't want a scenario where they will be asking for it on the day when i am meant to collect my visa .

Thanks

Thanks so much for ur replies,
Are u saying the birth certificates should be from the applicant local govt of origin or it can be from the local govt the applicant was born. I guess that also means birth cert from NPC-National Population Commission might nt be accepted.
Once again, thank you for your time.

You are very much welcome, i also did get some information on Nairaland..I was very much happy reading those replies, so i am also happy to share any info i have with you.

Its better to get the Birth Certificate from the Local Government, any LG will do...I also called a friend that submitted yesterday, he said the same thing that a Birth Certificate 4rm LG is Better.

Note: I don't know if any other BC will be accepted, but any Certificate from any LG will do.

Make sure the Medical Certificate is the Form collected from the embassy, signed and stamped then your flight booking should also be included.

Thanks
