To be honest, I don't.

holahola78: Pls and pls o NLrs, this thread is changing from student visa (joking). I decided to join NL today cos I have been following this particular thread as a guest for long. Actually I'm not qualified for the skilled thing. No work experience (actually self employed) . Kudos to @manmeta et al. I rarely see jennykadry's post now since you all don leave student corner o. I'll go back watching n reading again. I love this thread, can't do without reading it a day.

@To my question, I was given a Letter of Offer at WBIT yesterday, my IELTS is in sept. Do u think its wise I pay without my IELTS result? Will d letter expire?

1. We've actually asked for a separate thread to address General Skilled Migration. But I think this thread was left to be an hybrid for both student and skilled migrant visa issues. There are some overlapping issues and some people have actually discovered that the GSM route may be more applicable to them vis-a-vis studying.

2. It has been hitherto clearly stated. But for the purpose of emphasis/clarification, the studying route may be more appropriate for the not-too-experienced.

3. WRT your question, I leave it for the student visa experts to respond.

He should check with that body and deal with them directly.

You know some schools don't require IELTS whilst others do. Depending on what band score they want truth is some people will struggle to get the required IE,TS academic score

ferdimako:

Was your admission given an English test score condition? If so, hold on.If not you're doing the IELTS for the Embassy, and that means you should go ahead with the school's fee payment. And overall, you've to do it but the thing is..pass it with the threshold they want and it's usually 6.0 all bands. You can still ask the school of any fee payment deadline.

I'll hold on then. Its a nursing prog. And the International admin officer said I could continue. But from your own point of view I think its better I wait then. So as not to risk anything. Thanks @fremadiko. I'm honoured that u answered. wink

@jennykadry. The school require 6.0 in all band, I'm sorry I couldn't quote u. Just getting use to this (lol). I've opted to wait. Just eager. Since my test is in sept. And I read dat one shud have 6months before the visa lodgements. That was why I applied earlier. She even said she won't issue CoE until I have the test results. Now what if I don't meet d IELTS cutoffs. (Laughs)
Could be a silly questions though. Just thinking.

hello all
pls i will like you guys to advise me on what to do
i got an admission offer from TAFE for a 2yrs course, certificate iv and diploma afterwards which is a good thing but the problem is,if i'm going for a 2yrs course i need a large bank statement, my acct statement and that of my sponsor will only amount to like 6m with little on top. should i call my case manager and tell him i should go for one first then later i can apply for the other

please aunty jenny i need your help
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by RedReact: 5:05pm On Jul 06, 2013

Firstly, congratulations on the admission offer.
You don't really need a large sum of money to be able to secure a visa to study. You will required to pay for the first semester, and then show evidence of payment of all fees for the remaining parts of the first year. Afterwards, the embassy will want to believe that your sponsor should be able to release funds to sponsor you for the second the year.
This said, you can be able to pay some fees, like feeding and other fees from the money you make from the work you are able to do.
Mind you, during school session, you are entitled to 20hrs/week but unlimited hours during holidays.

Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 4:57am On Jul 07, 2013
^^^miimii. You need to show proof of your first 18 months in OZ. if I remember correctly its about 18k maybe more now. But they have the "price" list there.

I think its 18k 8h and something, my question is
Is that 18k something for 18 months or for 1yr living expenses?
And the 6m am talking about does not include my semester school fee ooo

Sydney is expensive and to be honest very difficult for PR. I mentioned a few pages ago, some new graduate nurses had to move to regional WA for sponsorship, but you'll love Sydney, very fast paced compared to Perth.
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by mimi1147(f): 2:08pm On Jul 07, 2013
Fast paced??not really into that.i think I have to look for a solution to that
Any idea what about the TOEFL score the embassy requires
Cause TAFE only requires 46

46 out of 120 on the TOEFL? Msc demands for 20 all bands or greater but none less than 20.So 80 out of 120 is what Msc demands.TAFE requirements are really low.I don't really know what Embassy wants to see or just as an evidence you did the test.

Please can anyone tell me how much the medicals cost (for PR visa) at any of the authorized clinics in Nigeria?
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 2:24pm On Jul 08, 2013
Aussierules: Please can anyone tell me how much the medicals cost (for PR visa) at any of the authorized clinics in Nigeria?

It cost me N82,000 at the clinic in Lagos: 50K for medical examination, 26K for courier to Sydney & 6k for X-ray at St Nicholas

But I just discovered that clinics in Nigeria are now on e-health, meaning the courier fee will have to be removed because they will no longer have to send hard copy report to Sydney. With e-health, they will just upload it online, it will also save you valuable time.

@ bolded, I just discovered the same too and I figured as much. I read on here (from Ferdimako I think) that the clinic in Abuja charged him 46,000 for his medical (including xrays and all). Considering that his was for the student visa option, I was wondering if it would be the same with a PR visa medical.
