Thanks
You know the main reason we're all relocating is to get PR and a shoot at better life
2yrs study is good for those of us that don't have experience in our field and not have a shoot at getting a PR from 9ja.
Like you guys said immi rules are changing everyday and that's my fear
Is not like there's even hope for 9ja to be better

Good way to go.

A12345: Aunty Jenny,Manmeta and other housemates that have gone through the PR route what is the chances of gaining a positive skill assessment for an experienced person with the prerequisite qualification whose occupation is in demand but has been out of job for over 2years now.

Dear A12345, what is important is not the number of years you are out of the job within the particular discipline you want to claim experience in. More important, is the number of years of experience you have in that discipline. The number of years will determine the number of points you can claim for this section towards the minimum of 60 points.

In the last 10 years, 3 years work experience = 5 points

In the last 10 years, 5 years work experience = 10 points

In the last 10 years, 8 years work experience = 15 points

Dear all,

To demystify this point-based skilled migration thingy, please read: http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1119.pdf

I betcha, once you've read this document, you won't need to seek basic info or use an agent. You will turn an expert yourself. Trust me.

This is what I call the AUSTRALIAN POINT-BASED SKILLED MIGRATION/PR BIBLE.

Dear All,

Many thanks to jennykadry, menmeta et la.,

I really appreciate you guys advise. I have carefully done a conservative self-assessment of myself in preparation for the GSM route. I think I can attain the passmark of 60 points plus or minus, if i can score 7 in the IELTS GT.

Age – 25 point
English language Ability - Proficient English—IELTS 7 / OET B - 10
Work Experience - 15
Education qualification 10
Nomination by state or territory government - 5 Optional

The most difficult task for me now is to attain a English Proficient 7 in the IELTS GT. Please do any one has the study materials. Please assist with the link if you have. I will appreciate.

Many thanks to

What of if you have only a year or 2 years experience? can you still apply? obviously you get no points but my question is must you get to 3yrs before you can apply. With Age,IELTS and Education requirements alone I can conveniently get 65.

Your best bet is to check the website of the Assessing Authority for your Profession/Occupation, they will specify the number of years of experience and IELTS score required to get a positive assessment. You can apply for PR so long as you are assessed as SUITABLE, providing you meet the 60points score.

You can try http://www.ieltsbuddy.com/ They have many resourceful material, IMO better than the Official test materials you will get from British Council ( I bought two from them). Also, if you are hoping to go the state sponsorship route, there may be requirements from individual states.

You can always get practice materials from the British Council, registration or no registration. It goes for 4k/copy.

Oh yeah, if you know you're qualified, process the PR visa there instead of waiting for an employer/state/regional sponsorship. That will be Subclass 189. I learnt am qualified just this month and am preparing (IELTS GT Sept 21 & ACS Skill Assessment) for it before I land with my student visa (ECU,Ms,computer Science,2yrs). I am headed to Perth,WA.

Have you landed?
