Obasanjo is a drowning man clinging on all possible means of survival. He has lost political relevance and thinks resorting to criticism is his only bet at gaining it back.
It is my humble opinion that Obsanjo is an over rated politician, if he had such political clout as to guarantee a second term for GEJ, at least we should have seen it replicated in the Ogun state 2011 Governorship &Senatorial elections, his lost of touch was so evident, so much so that he could'nt even deliver his daughter back to d Senate.

Afolabs101: GENOCIDE is an extremely weighty allegation to throw against someone. If Abati-GEJ-Govt is saying Obj committed genocide, shouldn't they at least question him for it? Erm SSS anybody?

I bet you Abati will eat his words!!

#quotedoutofcontext
I thought genocide is legal in Nigeria? Some white man lingo?

tomakint: I don't understand how pple reason here, for goodness sake let man be man and God be God! Obj should respect his old age for once and stop acting around. He was given 8 yrs and what did he do with it? He is just tryin to denigrade Jona's govt against 2015 and whether he likes it or not Jona will still carry the day! Haba Baba Iyabo, you are not that relevant politically again!

God bless you!!
Nigerians are too gullible always one sided punkss

are u sure ?give me a politicat target or politician he aimed, shot at and missed?

He should try it with GEJ and see. Oh you thought he resigned as BOt chairman for the fun of it?

Don't go there,if he messes up with GEJ he would be placed in his rightful position and he will so be humiliated, remember GEJ fell his hand during his last media chat..old aggbaya should respect himself and stay off someone else's government afterall he has his 8yrs and nobody interferred in his dispensation. He should borrow. Leaf from IBB

All you Evil people, I cant see anywhere in the tweet were Abati said OBJ is confused oh, Make ona no they put words for people mouth because of personal gains, on the other hand Mr Abati is showing little professionalism in handling OBJ who is an Ex president and also a senior party member of the Government he represents.

the die is already cast nd in politics there are no permanent enemies just permnent interest.baba is not alone ,lets see how popular jona is with nigerian and withing the pdp power block.what u have to know is that obj represents a powerful bloc withing the pdp and in this period even most nigeria masses will support this group agenda which is to see gej out of power in 2015,the only thing that can save gej now is results and sterlin perfomance,he needs to stop being slow and indecisive and start tackling issues with more purposeful direction .this is the ony thing that can save him from the final onslaught of obj group

OBJ should be doing something relevant like telling us where he wants to be buried, this freaking old man is at least a 100yrs old.

PS
On a lighter note I think GEJ won't attend OBJ's funeral though he's bound to give Obj respect as a former head of state. I think GEJ should send an errand to Obj assuring him he will foot his funeral. The earlier he goes the better.

GEJ hates obj because he recommended lamido for 2015: it s not that they are concerned about the security of Nigerians .Both men are no good, and Abati is the bearer if messages from GEJ. Lets watch and see

Abati is a classic example of an academic derelict; intelligence without character. His position would be the same as Obasanjo's if he wasn't a govt bulldog!

The worst tribal bigots are from the south west. All of a sudden OBJ has become their hero. OBJ is now being seperated from PDP and GEJ. If the comment is coming from them against a sitting president it is not an insult. I blame GEJ. If he can be more brutal and say to hell with Nigeria all these nonsense won't be coming up. Rubbish.

Abati is not a coward and jobless fellow like most of you. He has a pedigree. He said it as it is.
Re: Obasanjo Is Confused And Unstable - Abati by Nobody: 11:22am On Jan 10, 2013
Obasanjo and Goodluck are the same, they are like father and son. The fact that obasanjo single handedly made Goodluck vice president of nigeria attest to this.

Mathematically, if obasanjo and Goodluck are the same, it simply means that both of them are unstable and confused.

Statistically, If both of them are unstable and confused, it takes a bewilder like Abati to point this out to us.

Obasanjo met us in the woods and left us in the woods. Before he came, we were almost seeing the main road but he came and took us back into the woods. That is understandable (he want all of us to suffer as he suffered in kirikiri maximum prison).

Jonathan met us where Obasanjo left us inside the tick woods. He made many promises to us. We thought he is the mesaiah, he raped us repeatedly , turned us around and started leading us to the desert (what did we do to him, where did we offend him).

Dr. Reuben Abati, Dr. Reuben Abati, Dr. Reuben Abati, well, let me reserve my comments. May the spirit of Patito's Gang torment you in this life and life after .

Ganys: This monkey looking cash and carry Essayist (not jornalist) at it again, can somebody call this guy to order, the last time I checked, this guy's job is to make statement that can attract more friends to Mr president than foe.
I'm not a fan of OBJ, but nigerian should learn to respect elders no matter what....

Mr Abati, remember that muhammeade haruna, oluyomi oyo, fani kayodE, segun adeniyi and emma niboro were once there, soonest, you too will become history...
Never underestimate the wisdom of any old man, especially ObJ....

I'm disappointed in u abati

Will stop the lie! You are obviously a fan of Obasanjo. Talking of respecting elders, is Abati you mate in any way. Do you respect your leaders (President to be precise) when you insult him on any social medium? Instead of you to address the issue, u r here speaking like an idiot. Y did Obasanjo say the President was weak about the BH issue in Warri and later said the President is only using the stick (military might)on them on CNN. He is uterly confused (just as you)PERIOD.

Our Ref: SGMJJ/OLF/1902/1101Y13 Date: January 21, 2013

ABATI’S RECENT COMMENT ON OBJ IS A TABOO
The recent statement, in the media, credited to Dr. Reuben Abati, Senior Special Assistant to the President on media, stating that our ex-President, Chief Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo is confused and unstable is a taboo, which should be corrected in order to avoid Abati becoming a failure in life.
In an apparent vulgar reaction laden with anger, The nation newspaper, Thursday, January 10, 2013, reported that Abati went on Twitter on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, to disparage OBJ because of the interview he granted Cable Network News, CNN, on boko haram in which the elder statesman was quoted as saying, among others, “to deal with a group like that, you need a carrot and stick. The carrot is finding out how to reach out to them. When you try to reach out to them and they are not amenable to being reached out to, you have to use the stick.” According to the report, OBJ went further to say that President Goodluck Jonathan was “just using the stick in his effort, noting. “He is doing one aspect of it well, but the other aspect must not be forgotten.”
This was OBJ comment that drew Abati’s adrenaline to the extent that he disrespectfully deplored the former President’s comment and labelled him a confused man whose counsel or view, the government does not care about.
I wish to warn that the core intrinsic nucleus values, which includes respect for elders, which elongates the lives of the younger ones should, for no reason, be jettisoned on the altar of political exigencies to retain one’s job. What need is there for one to hold on to political office to the detriment of losing one’s life prematurely. Right now Azazi and Yakowa are gone, who knows the mistakes they made that made them to disappear at the time we needed their services most?
It is for this same reason that I warned IBB’s media aide, Prince Afegbai, sometime last year, when he, in an unprincely manner, threw brick bats on the Ijaw’s frontline and foremost nationalist and elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, just to satisfy the urges of his stomach, please his paymaster, IBB, to retain his job.
We don’t need a diplomatic channel to evaluate the ex-President nor do we need an ombudsman to explain the stressful and oppressive spiritual war Goddluck Ebele Jonathan is undergoing from Europe and Far East to stop the anti-corruption war which was led by OBJ. We see today of a President surrounded by enemies of Nigeria, but has to listen to those who made it possible for him to get there in order to avoid turning Nigeria into Euro/Americo systems where there are recurrent disasters for allowing the market forces which is a by-product of a cosmic joke practice that allows uncontrolled freedom , selfishness, greediness, corruption, etc. because they believe that humanity dropped from the sky.
Abati did not speak for the President, he should withdraw that statement or he and his family will face the consequences from the Ancestors.
PDP without OBJ backed by Maharaj Ji is like river without water. The Northern PDP members are foot soldiers of NPC, NPN and NRC who are here to re-colonise the black race through all kinds of give and take, so long as the other ethnic groups forget their birthright, culture and integrity. We brought OBJ in to save this journey to doom, targeted to silence the nucleus children and so PDP exists if Goodluck Ebele Jonathan agrees to advance on OBJ policies, otherwise the suffering continues.
Remember, it was General Yar’Adua who destroyed Africa shrine and Odi in order to discredit the then President, not OBJ, who pushed for the use of African power to stop South Africa from destroying the race with apartheid.
So, Goodluck Jonathan should realize that there is divine intervention which he cannot ignore and that is for him to catch all the thieves around him and nothing will happen. Any attempt to dodge will cause his failure and downfall for the ongoing Arab spring in the North to boomerang.
Finally, Abati seems to be a very poor student of political history of Nigeria. It is therefore instructive to remind him of the NPN/NPP days when one of the political legends of our time, the great Zik of Africa complained about the brazen manipulation of the electoral process by the Northern Oligarchy in their continued denial of nucleus children of the opportunity of attaining the highest political office in the land during the 1983 general election.
Dr. Chuba Okadigbo made the same mistakes Abati is repeating today in order to please his paymasters, the Northern Oligarchies, and this earned him the curse of our Ancestors that manifested at the crest of his political career. Today, Okadigbo is gone and gone forever!
Hence, it is therefore imperative that Abati should retrieve his statement within 48 hours of reading this piece.
A word is enough for the wise.
My Love and Blessings.
