Billyonaire: Shameful! Very shameful!! Imo State receives average of 8 billion naira every 4 weeks and this is what we see. It doesnt cost me 25 million naira to build up a 5 bedroom duplex in Lagos and these Politician receives approximately 8 billion naira every 4 weeks but can not build excellent schools. Whats all this BS of erecting slaps as walls for schools. This is an accident waiting to happen.information from monthly allocation from federation account, imo and abia receive almost the same amount which is approximately 5.1billion. So who gave you the N8b information, even an oil rich bayelsa receives N6b every month which is less than the 8b. My dear please lets learn how to appreciate good thing and end this unnecessary blackmailing of one's image in nairaland. If you have travelled to imo state of recent time, can we reach a bond that, if truely that rochas is working and you claimed to be blind to see his works, may you never see good thing in your life? This is nigeria and most countries of the world see us as learned and educated people but the way we behave atimes make me crazy. Someone is showcasing good thing in his state instead of you to encourage and give constructive contribution you are saying otherwise because it's not your state or maybe the governor is not in your supporting party. I've been to imo state of recent time and i saw massive construction of roads and roadabouts and most of the roads the man is construting and dualising are federal roads and i saw most of these modern classrooms litered in all corners of the state and they are not built with blocks they are materials imported from oversea and are fixed. Many nigerian governors are trying starting from gombe, lagos, imo, akwa ibom, enugu, rivers, edo, ekiti and even delta so let appreciate and encourage them so that other governors can emulate from them. |

EasternLeopard: God bless him. But he should focus more on job creation especially thru industrialization, agriculture etc which are the major things we lack in Imo state that can help the state attain financial independance. My dear please spare me with this issue of govt job creation, let the man just creat enably environment for industries to thrive, industries will look for imo state not imo state looking for them and by such creating employment for the citizens. Govt of china, germany and USA did not create employment by building industries rather they set up their perspective plans and integrated private sectors in its implementations, today almost 80% of their workforce are employed. India and malaysia are taking the step also. The shell and other oil companies even the MTN and other telecommunication companies that are providing employments in nigeria today were they created and own by nigerian government? The only things we need is improvement in education just like china did, improvement in power sector and in general environment and you will see industries trooping in. And another thing is for government to subsidise interest rate so that loans can be easily obtained for youlths who want to establish a small/medium industry or venture into large scale commercial agriculture. I cant advice government creating jobs because people dont take any govt owned business serious. Compare govt owned hopitals and private owned ones even universities and you'll understand what i mean. The issue of job creation should be left for private sectors. The only good job govt can creat is civil service. |

EasternLeopard: Ola I like u but dont insult me. My friend face reality on ground. A graduate who is not gainfully employed might not be able to send his or her children to the university that is the situation on ground.were dangote and adenuga employed? they worked hard on their own and now they are the highest single employers of labour in nigeria. And mind you before igbos are not lazy to be waiting for govt cheap employment then everybody wants to own a big business and count on billions but now i dont know what is becoming of them, they are indirectly acting like core niger-delta people waiting for government to do everything for them. Bros, it's too bad, that commerce spirit should be not allowed to die. |

Hei @ mario of nairaland. You just de blow hot in defence of Gov. Okorocha and his so called achievements. I must tell you that Okorocha's political case must be closed in my place of Orlu by end of forthcoming December's conference, if most of the roads dug out in Orlu for close to two years now remain uncompleted then. People have tolerated this "shun of the shoil" enough. Okorocha govt has been punishing severely, and having the slightest regard for people of Orlu nation since it came to office. No stadium, no hotel, as promised, no tertiary institution as expected, no pipe borne water, no urban drainage. Worse is that, in Orlu, it is two years now many roads and junctions have remained barely passable. Economy crippled, depopulation, anguish for remaining population. Okorocha does not care a hoot. He would rather complete jobs outside Orlu maza maza. Now compare the huge and also sparkling construction development projects observed since 2011 in some states like Enugu, Ondo, Ekiti, and even Anambra, (let's leave nearby rich Delta, Akwa Ibom and Rivers states), then you may not be blowing hot on people who want that Okorocha, guy to wake up from slumber. 1 Like |

No part of Imo state is spared the agony of the present gross misgovernance in Imo state. All the governor has achieved is a lot of motion without any real movement. People are shown action and they clap, soon they realize they clapped too early. 1 Like |

Is he not the same governor who would want to know the LGA a prospective industrialist hails from before talking issues? |

DerideGull: You people should relax. While you are busy planning how to zone Governor Owerri, Okigwe, Mbaise or wherever have you ever pondered to think about the communities that make Imo wealthy. In 2019, the Governor has to come from Oguta or Ohaji/Egbema or are we not part of Imo State? I'll be ready to contest then. 1 Like |

Abagworo: If your memory serves you very well, you should remember Okorocha did not win in Oguta LGA. The election in Oguta and some parts of Ohaji/Egbema LGA remains inclusive till today. It very unfathomable behavior as people from Orlu zone always take Ohaji/Egbema LGA as part of Orlu zone. The fact that Oguta, Egbema and Ohaji were once a local government does not make Ohaji/Egbema LGA an Orlu zone entity |

When rochas was in Apga other tribe hated him only people from IMO and some other ibo states talks good about him. Now he is in APC his people no longer talk good about him rather people of other tribes. Why are Nigerians hypocritical. If rochas happened to switch to PDP now another batch of praise singer will surface. Keep it up if you are doing good or change your ways if you doing bad. That what I tell every politician. |

DerideGull: Okorocha won hands down in Oguta. I'm happy you've understood the fact. The same way your Mbaise is not actually part of the Owerri so is Oguta and Ohaji/Egbema not part of Orlu. Even if Owerri zone will get Governorship, I foresee Mbaitoli/Ikeduru axis picking it. If Orlu zone and Mbaitoli/Ikeduru vote one candidate he has won hands down. |

Abagworo: I wonder how Ohaji, which I presumed is part and parcel of Urratta, can be part of Orlu. In addition, Egbema is way beyond Orlu. Its proximity to Oguta or Orsu can not be misconstrued as part of Orlu zone. Anyway, it will be left in hands of the people of Ohaji and Egbema to decide. |

Abagworo: @Abagworo, I hate to think of the prospects of PDP coming to Imo govt house in 2015, given the states PDP record of dependence on using PDP winning (read rigging) machinery for elections. Yours Truly mobilized ma people to dare that PDP machinery in May 2011. We staked a lot then. Figure it out --- if ex Gov. Ohakim had won. All his 4 years in office, Ohakim and his commissioners had been replying stakeholders in Orlu, and promising in public speeches, to begin work on the long proposed Orlu regional surface water supply scheme. The Orlu water scheme was among four others for Aba, Owerri, Umuahia, Okigwe, proposed by Imo state govt under late Mbakwe. Four of the schemes have long been commissioned. But when Okorocha came on board as governor, Orlu was stunned when Okorocha announced that his govt had privatized water supply in Imo state - translate: Dig your family boreholes. It is a mirage to expect any populated centre to ever grow to become a city without any articulate pipe-borne water supply system. There is no public water supply system in Orlu. Did you read the Editorial of Owerri catholic newspaper, "Leader," about three months ago? The editorial literally abused a govt that does not provide treated pipe borne water for citizens. In the western world where water supply is done by private companies, govt still has a big role to play. At this stage in Imo state, privatizing water supply is an avenue for any govt to negate its responsibility. You just can't get any company to invest in water supply at this stage. It is very expensive, capital and profit take very long to recoup. Above all, can poor Imo people pay for private water supply? Successive Imo state govts invested billions of Naira on surface regional water supply projects in Owerri and Okigwe. Owerri zone profited from its completed water scheme during the 1980s band 90s. Owerri area still has most of the water supply infrastructures on ground. Udenwa and Ararume used long legs to get the federal govt complete the little job left in the multi billion Naira Okigwe surface water scheme commissioned by late President Yaradua in 2008. Though the scheme does not supply water yet, all the infrastructure are still on ground in Okigwe as in Owerri. Any time any Imo state govt decides to let Imo people have treated water, the govt shall find enough structures on ground in Owerri and Okigwe, but nothing in Orlu. Okorocha's aides and Okorocha himself, do not seem to read what people say about Gov. Okorocha. Eexcuse me, Abagworo, for about two years now on nairaland, you have pasted photos of roads undergoing construction in Orlu, is it not time you must tell your viewers that those roads still remain in shambles after two years - none completed? |
