You are actually the one who isn't ok upstairs for saying this thrash. With people like you, how do we expect Nigeria to develop?

deadie: It is really sad that you people are here condemning her because she said she will burn her Nigerian passport. Could you imagine the frustration she is going through? All you mumus that have never stepped out of Nigeria - do you know how much she worked to earn the 300 dollars? Abroad is not like Nigeria where people don't work (part-time or full-time ghost workers) and earn money, or at worst steal from our commonwealth. Moreso, she mentioned being a student and that her dad earns less than 300 dollars a month. She probably has to send money back home to take care of her relatives. She damned has every right to be pissed - and to burn the goddamned passport. When I left the shores of Naija, my intension was to return immediately after concluding my studies. But all that changed the moment I landed at the airport after 3 yrs.

Things has gotten so bad that Nigerians no longer have sympathy with those that are poorly treated by those who are supposed to work for our interest. Channel your outrage to the f00ls who work at the embassy, not at the lady who suffered in their hands. By the way, have a look at the FAQ page (http://www.nigeriaembassygermany.org/faq.htm) of the Nigerian embassy in Germany. The last line reads:

"I am visiting Nigeria for holidays, do I need to take insurance cover?
It is advisable to take insurance cover as Nigeria does not have reciprocal agreement for insurance with the UK."

The f00ls simply copied the line from the Nigerian High commission in london (http://www.nigeriahc.org.uk/faq) and could not change UK to Germany. This is a site that is read by thousands of Germans wishing to travel to Nigeria. And may I add how scanty the FAQ page of the Nigerian Embassy in Germany is? I hope you guys who are condemning her experience this kind of frustration from your useless government.

Exactly my thoughts....most people working in nigerian high commission got dia jobs based on connections....so what do u expect.....when standards & credibility is shelved 2 d gutter this is d result.......its a big shame both on d part of d ambassador & Nigerian Govt as a whole.......I tell u most of dem working in d high commissions outside are grossly incompetent & lack professionalism,......imagine d head of d supposed ict dept in d german high commission not reading thru d copy n paste...... without even taking d pain 2 properly edit d page........ *big shame*.....yet they keep raising dia shoulders proudly saying 2 anyone who cares 2 listen * I am d director of dis n dat......*.........a lotta old men need 2 be pruned 4 nigeria 2 make a headway else nigeria will be nuttin but history pretty soon...... Cos God is already tired of nigeria.

'I regret being a Nigerian, I too will tear and burn my Nigerian passport when I finally become an Iraqi' (Rapmoney at the Nigerian Embassy in Iraq)

Jokes apart, it's really painful. Ken Saro Wiwa made a similar statement in 1993. Nigeria is a place where touts are celebrated. A professor is regarded as nothing but General Gbamu Gbamu, General Tom Po.....(I did not complete it) are all given unnecessary respect. Shame!

The sad thing about fucktards is that one of their most frequent attempts when trying to display their non-existent intellect is to throw moronic platitudes they have heard before, e.g.:

"Home remains home"

"There is no smoke without fire"

Its obvious u have been frustrated in Nigeria and by your fellow Nigerians, however, its utter disrespect for your motherland to tear your Nigerian passport. Its illogical, mundane and un-professional. I trust u wont do the tearing.

And are those who mess up the system not our (her) fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters, colleagues, friends, fellow compatriots of every class, tribe and tongue.

What has an innocent little green booklet with your serious looking face and details have to do with our collective failures. Do you destroy your toilet because it cannot flush.

This is the typical response of an indolent, self centred person, the likes that have brought this country to its knees. Does she know what it meant, what it took, what it cost in blood, sweat and tears to obtain and keep an american or canadian passport over two hundred years ago when the British were pursuing them from pillar to post.

Lazy McDonalds generation. Can't engineer nothing. Pathetic.

Afam4eva: it is utterly shameful to be a Nigerian in 2013. I could sense a deep anger and regret for God making that lady a Nigerian. She never asked for it but unfortunately she was placed in a place that have 1diots as leaders. I won't blame her if she burns her Nigerian passport. It's good riddance to bad rubbish.
Shameful you.

And why should you respect your motherland?

Explain to me.

You might decide to take your tribe's people, fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters, colleagues, friends, fellow compatriots failure as your failure but some of us with a brain don't.

My father's failures or successes is not mine and will never be mine! I decide my fate and, in the land of people with brains, I should be judged by my actions and contributions, not my cousin's nor my neighbours 2 streets away.

This nonsensical reasoning is why I regard the Bible as total tosh. You know that nonsense that said 'I am born a sinner' because some naked man ate an apple? That is one of the numerous indicators that told me that the author of the bible (and I think the Quran has the same line as well) is not intelligent enough to be a God! That dumb assumption of transfer of patrimonial or matrimonial sin is a mark of illiteracy and poor education which tells me the Bible/Quran is/are the fictional work originating from medieval illiterates' fantasies.

The failure of Nigeria is not mine nor that of majority of Nigerians. It is a failure of a collective few rulers and those with significant powers to make a change.

It would be a disadvantage to Nigeria as she is a sane and well educated girl (postgrad). It is people like Justosaus we should be hoping to dash Canada, not one of our better brains.

Sometimes one wishes they can temporarily bring back the slave trade so we can sell the rots of Nigeria to go and work on a plantation without a right to vote or even have an opinion. I will happily be a master slave trader if that fantasy came to life.

pharmow: clear throat........ Let truth be told, the attitude Nigeria Embassy workers in Ottawa Canada were very unprofessional and annoying. A friend of my needed his driver's abstract to process Canadian driver license, U wont believe for more than 2 months these people haven't responded. This kinna of story is what you hear when you have anything to do with the Nigerian embassy.

For the lady that said she will tear and burn her passport, I think it is very naive of her to have said that on National TV. Beside, London Ontario to Ottawa is not as far as the dude that came all the way from Calgary.

Am not saying she's right with her judgement of tearing and burning her passport but u don't av 2 compare distance as to who came from where to where cos u won't ever understand what it means to loose your time and even if its a dollar as a result of incompetences on the part of people we call our representatives in d diaspora.... Imagine the rubbish.

Any Diaspora Nigerian who wishes to tear and burn his or her Nigerian Passport should go ahead and tear it. We really DO NOT need half-hearted Nigerians in Nigeria. We only need those who are willing and able to go through the mill with us to make Nigeria a great country giving the indices available.
I would like to assure those weak Nigerians that they will never be allowed into the country again. The embassies would receive strict instructions to DENY them visas. They should live and die in Canada, USA, UK or Europe. Only the strong, resilient and fit people are welcome to Nigeria. All the weaklings are hereby advised to obtain a Canadian, US or British passports. Thank you.

Obviously you will need to be strong, resilient and fit when hunger wires you because of poverty or when you are being chased into the bush by armed robbers robbing the long-distance luxury bus you are using to travel to your village for Xmas.

Those "challenges" do not happen in Canada, USA, UK or Europe. No need to be strong, resilient and fit, you just need to utilise the immense resources and the optimal environment provided for you to self-develop to contribute and progress with the host nation.

You gave (obviously fortuitously) a good description of the type of Nigerian that will thrive in such a shithole you take pride in. Thank God you did not mention anything like having brains among the people you feel are welcomed to your dream of Nigeria.

That's exactly my point. Stay the f*uck away. It's usually poor people like you who ran away to Europe to escape poverty that are quick to label Nigeria poor. In UK, USA, Canada and Europe, most Nigerians are relatively poor. Now, go hop on that Gabbage truck. The streets need to be clean on Sunday too.

Please tell me, what was that girl meant to do? Be proud of Nigeria, when she's treated by NIGERIANS like something you'd scrape off your shoe? You come across as the typical Nigerian who would gladly take a kick in the teeth, over and over again, and be proud to accept it. And never question when you're wronged.

There's nothing to be proud of with regards Nigeria. And plenty to be ashamed of. Learn to reason, and process before coming out with the hogwash you just did.
