I am still trying to fathom how anyone in his right senses would tribalize a candid opinion such as the one below: berem: APC still remains my party whether Rochas is nominated as Vice President or not! If PDP which has 4 SE states doesn't have an Igbo man as President and Vice President, why should APC which has only one state in the SE be your problem? Did she abuse anyone? How is her perceived tribe an impediment to expressing an opinion as the one above? dayokanu: As soon as they saw that candid OPINION, they bared their fangs like untamed beasts and pounced on the lady. Why? 2 Likes |

Crazy thread!! I swear I never knew abusing women was un-Yoruba. My online personality shoots at everything moving - men, women, dogs, weirdos, aliens, green-men etc.. It's different offline, anyway. Cant be ar.sed to do that. Thanks to Pukkah, Katsumoto, Italiano1 and Dayokanu for educating me on that via this thread - we learn new things everyday. Topic: What's the point of zoning the VP to the SW? Can't they choose the best technocrat regardless of ethnicity? Anyway, I see no reason why Igbo's on nl are screaming blue-murder over this. Most of you are PDP dogs and GEJ is your God. Since politics in Nigeria is tribal and the SE has little or no stake in APC - why do you want to reap where you didn't sow? You expect other people to do all the hard-work and give you everything they have worked for on a platter of gold, nah? - hysterical! 1 Like |

Pukkah: I saw the way you jumped in to defend Desola when Gbawe was trashing her around. Some of you are just tribalists and plain hypocrite. Yes, I know the context of you text. I only went a little beyond it because I know the nature of you folks. |

Of course nobody says you should dance to the same tune. It's all about presentation and perception. Yours has produced a reaction (from both sides of the fence) that will be used as fodder for ethno-sexist agendas in the future. It may or may not matter to you, but there are ways of proferring different views without SEEMING to be self-deprecating. This is something I admire about Yoruba moderates on this forum. berem: I don't know what you mean by pleasing others! What is wrong being a staunch supporter of APC which has all ethnic groups represented in the party? Why should I hate fashola or Tinubu because they belong to APC? Why should I despise Buhari because he is a fulani? Why should I turn my back on my governor because he chose to join APC? Why should my opinion on political issues be a headache to others? Must we all from the same ethnicity dance to the same tune? I have every right to support whomever I choose to. Who ever takes offense about my views should go to hell!!! 1 Like |

Yet another sensible post from an Ibo gal. nnenna.1: nnenna.1: Relative!! I love that word. You really have a point. Bigotry cut across all races/ethnicity. But what I cant stand is a guy threatening an assault on a lady. With my years on nairaland , i've come across posts from most especially Ibos and Yorubas insulting and calling their women folks disgusting names (common between yoruba and Ibo posters). In my opinion, I dont think a direct threat on an individual life (a lady for that matter) can be compared to the name-calling you referred to above. |

Jonathan has a better chance of winning again with this arrangement of fielding a northerner for president. You guys don't learn from experience? |

PointB: You seem to have a special Nairaland memory because I can't remember such an incident. You'd do well to remind me. I usually state my OPINION without having it in mind to defend anyone except the one that I think is right. Unlike some of you, my interest is in siding with the truth and not incumbency or tribe. You went a 'little beyond' but in doing that you unwittingly endorsed primitiveness and barbarism. It's unfortunate. Exercise more caution next time. If you call me a tribalist then you are the epitome of tribalism or tribalist plenipotentiary. The tag of hypocrisy will also not stick on me, or my people (if you want to stereotype) because with us, you know where you stand. We stick out our necks for ourselves and for others. 4 Likes |

I have a dream that the southwest would remain irrelevant in the nation's politics till 2019 unless urgent measures are taken to gather as much supports as can guarantee GEJ's victory from that region come 2015. |

nnenna.1:I still don't understand where you are driving at nnenna. I still cannot understand what you mean by presentation and perception. Can you prove to me where and when I have made any comment against Igbos on this forum? I have tried my best to make peace between Abagworo and Chino concerning threads about Imo and Anambra. I have never posted any negative comment about SE states. So what do you mean by presentation and perception? |

Is the South West irrelevant today? How do you determine or define relevance? Is the relevance political, economic, or social? |

Umu nwoke Igbo, ifele ona emekwa unu? Unu ma na obu ife anya fulu ka onu n'ekwu? I have said this a million times, leave berem alone, she's entitled to her opinion. If she's APC, let her do APC. Last week on few thread where they called for her head, mu si unu, Berem bu nwanne anyi nwanyi, o mecha ya nata kwa... Like seriously, yall need to quit attacking her. |

Do you guys understand politics at all? I honestly don't know which political party is going to win the 2015 election but I know GEJ won't rule naija beyond 2015. Trust me, nobody wants him there including the powers-that-be except probably Ijaws and people from the other side. They're just waiting for him to self-destruct and finish him off. The king-makers are watching him closely. Watching his steps and he's a few steps away from the destruction. The hand-writing is already on the wall. However, Nigeria is going to go bankrupt before then. |

manny4life: Umu nwoke Igbo, ifele ona emekwa unu? Unu ma na obu ife anya fulu ka onu n'ekwu? I salute you for this voice of reason. I will never say unprintable things at anyone who disagrees with my point of view. Live ad let live. People need to show tolerance and mutual respect. |
