APC, clearly, is a Yoruba--Hausa-Fulani Alliance in their bid to wrestle power away from Old Eastern Nigeria. This alliance had been tested in the 1960s during the Civil-War between Gowon/Muritala and Awolowo leading to the defeat of the Self-Determination efforts of the aforementioned Easterners. In 2013, the intellectual descendants of Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello are at it again. Intellectual descendants because they are not just united with them by ethnicity, they are remorseless with the starvation and 20 Pounds policies of Awolowo which has enduring effect more than the war itself. Now they have rekindled their friendship against the same region they sought to annihilate almost 50 years ago and some people are too blinded by ignorance to comprehend the calculus. Why are they audaciously making inroads again into the old frontier? Because they read us correctly -- some of our people are under the spell of amnesia, ethnic ignorance, and are unconscious (sleeping). That's why a former (illegal) Gov. of Anambra State, Ngige, rather than run on his own, is being used by these APC Oligarchs to make inroads into the heart of Igboland. Ostensibly, they are bent on accomplishing the goals Awolowo, Gowon, et al weren't able to accomplish which is complete mental and political enslavement of Ndigbo. Some people prefer to hide under the banner of voting individual in stead of party to foster and accelerate this political enslavement process. If parties don't shape their individual members' characters, policies and worldview, why has Ngige and virtually all Igbo APC members remained silent on Boko Haram? Why have they all either supported the illegal Deportation or even insulted Ndigbo in a bid to validate their party leaning and patriotism? If Ngige is still as loquacious and charismatic as people thought he was, why hasn't he moved any motion in the National Assembly that would impact positively on the lives of his constituents as promised or as Bola Tinubu's daughter is doing in the Senate for Lagos State? A vote for Ngige and his APC is a symbolic, yet significant vote for the actualization of Awolowo's wish on ZIK, Odumegwu Ojukwu, and Ndigbo in general. A conscious and principled person is able to think beyond one election, beyond his parochial interest and think about his group's strategic interest...Strategy is far superior to tactics....Children forget easily...adults don't, especially when the predator is lurking... especially when he is remorseless. 1 Like |

Nigeria's Acting President Goodluck Jonathan has told the BBC he has not seen or had "sustained discussion" with the ill president in about five months. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/8619408.stm That was the role Dora played by lying to the nation that Jonathan spoke to Yar Adua and perpetuate the born to rule until Falana, Bakare and Soyinka took to the streets to kick out the cabal 2 Likes |

The remark about Awolowo and the Yorubas is so bad. Even if you hold this sort of view personally, there are certain things that are just not to be said in public. If Jonathan was a decent man, he could have taken to the mic (even if it's shortly before he left the event) to express displeasure at that comment, and apologise on behalf of everyone present. Obama or any other leader worth his salt would have done that. For the President to sit down smiling sheepishly like a buffoon is remarkable. How did we as a country get to this low low point? So sad. 5 Likes |

edo.girl: Yeah right!. They should rather pretend so that all will be well and dandy? No wonder the country is so warped and stunted, when you have people smiling at you while concealing innate hatred and malice deep in their hearts. Sorry dear, I'll rather know what you think of me than the superficial show that is common among the SW. Arthur Eze is an old man, by his reckoning. When do you want him to say it the way he feels, in his grave? Awolowo killed Igbo people and cheated them of their money; every Igbos know this, and most Igbo say it. Yorubas should come to terms and deal with it, simple! 6 Likes |

Arysexy:Go read the history of political parties in Yorubaland. In the first republic NPC/NCNC was at the centre, AG was at the west; in the second republic NPN was at the centre, UPN was in the west; in this dispensation, PDP is in the centre, AD, was in the west, but later metamorphosed into AC, ACN and now APC. |

Re: Ridiculous Statements Made At Anambra PDP rally by Nobody: 6:42pm On Nov 14, 2013 |
I'm sure a lot of Yoruba are reading this and if you can't see the handwriting on the wall. Then, you're on your own. If this tasteless and utterly tribalistic and bigoted, bordering xenophobic statement, had been credited to a Yoruba politician. Most of these people would have been crying and writing meaning epistles about it. However, it just shows how tribalistic and bigoted these people are. It's engrained in their DNA - both young and old. And this statement wasn't made on nairaland. It was made with the current president of the country sitting there like a fool, without reprimanding the idiotic goat that made the statement. The next time I hear that bs about nairaland being different from the real world, the forum would be defaced. As for Seun - you have always been dimwitted. The few times you have had to post comments have shown you out as an unintelligent guy who managed to ride the waves of a bespoke software to the top. You need to reign your slavs in and let the tribal war continue. This platform has to be used to raise the next generation on how bigoted the mind-set of the average Nigerian is, and how to cater to tribal solidarity. 3 Likes |
