This culture of impunity and insensitivity to the psyche of students must stop. Either the prepetrator is ASUU or FG. It must stop.

I think that they want to meet jonathan so as to give him some conditions before the strike is called off. Such conditions as:
1). Payment of outstanding salaries(salaries for spetember,october and november).
2). Government must assure the union that no lecturer will be victimised for participating in theindustrial action.
3). Government must assure the union that the new agreement won't be like others. Etc

@alcuin, I tire for them o.. Honestly if dem kidnap any ASUU NEC member, and ask for the strike to be called off in exchange for his or her life... Hmm this strike go end within 24hrs. Nigerian confras are cowards.

I think meeting wt d govt agn is paramount. They have to tidy up loose ends to ensure we dnt av a repeat performance in subsequent years. Now, if after monday's meeting they dnt call off, the union shld b banned!

So dis ASUU meeting yesterday was genuine, just confirmed on AIT ph. 8.pm news tonite dat after d meeting yesternite, ASUU resolved to send dia delegations to GEJ on MONDAY 25th november 2013, to giv him feedbAck as dey agreed Dey wuld..
So al in all d proces was ( meet GEJ> ASUU go bck to tink upon it> ASUU giv GEJ dia resolution> ASUU cal off/or not call off strike>)...geeezzzz

Just post your name,home address,school,faculty,level and MAT number and those "men" go nicely explain why they can't do your "needful"

ASUU Calls Off 5 Months Strike.

The Academic staff of University union, (ASUU) has voted in Kano to call off their 5 months old strike.
The Union leaders resolved to inform the president about their decision on Monday, November 25, 2013.
