There can never be ego problems at Man United.
Ferguson gives no fcuks about any player.
He is the only manager that enforces NO PLAYER BIGGER THAN THE CLUB policy.
When Beckham was getting heady . . . . . he hocked him off.
RVN also questioned Fergie's tactics and he went the same way.

All the players we have are young so they dont even have egos.
Anderson and Nani will learn to behave themselves at Man United.
Hargreaves will also settle down well. I dont envisage any problems with the team.
Everybody will get his chance to play.
If AC Milan and Inter Milan can do it, United will surely can.

@ FBS,
I never knew Fergie was about to be sacked.
Larry Izamoje sometimes misinform u guys so dont always believe what u hear from him.
The only time Fergie's job came on the table was when he said he would retire and way back in the late 80's when United was under-performing.
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by FBS: 2:31pm On Jul 16, 2007
just got this from the net, oh yes he saidd he was retiring but man mi, we all know what happened, "The 2001-02 season was to have been Ferguson's last as Manchester United manager, and the looming date of his retirement was cited by many as a reason for the team's loss of form.( check this, is says, LOSS OF FORM!!!!) Ferguson himself admitted that the decision to pre-announce his retirement had resulted in a negative effect on the players and on his ability to impose discipline. But in February 2002 he agreed to stay in charge for at least another three years.@

justkunmi:

This transfer window so far has been the most exciting in the last few years. Nani, Anderson, Hargreaves and possibly Tevez makes for one frightening line-up. What concerns me is that we might go the Chelsea route and have a lot of disgruntled players not getting enough opportunities and that is never good. Dressing-room unrest is big factor and could often be the difference between winning and losing the league. One look at Chelsea should tell us that.

We need a few players to leave. Heinze is a good example of a good player desiring to leave for regular first-team football.

Our front line today reads Rooney, Tevez (common we all know he is coming), Saha, Smith, Rossi, Dong Fongzhou and Solskjaer. I don't see Saha, Dong and Ole having issues being benched. Rossi is young and ambitious and if we can nurture him, we could have a great line up in two years' time. Smith (alas!) is all but gone.

The midfield should clearly see Richardson go. Only four out of Scholes, Giggs, Ronaldo, Hargreaves, Carrick, Nani, Anderson, Fletcher and Park will play. Unless calamity strikes, I do not see Fletcher or Park breaking into the first team next season.

The defence is a bigger concern. I would rather see Heinze stay and Silvestre leave. But Silvestre will be a far better squad player and stay content playing lesser games than Heinze or Evra would.

I trust Sir Alex to manage the squad well but a squad rotation policy like the pool will see us lose some points. Managing the 20 players out of a 31-member squad who aren't playing will be the bigger challenge this upcoming season. A few departures and recouping a few million will help me rest easy.

PROUDLY UNITED cool
.

You were-are absotutively right until you got to the Heinze part. Heinze is good to go and infact he's past his prime. Since he came back from injury, Heinze has been shyte. he was muddled, muzzled and bamboozled up last season. His Pace is his major albatross,so slow and infact always stranded on the pitch. No doubt heinze was the best leftback in the EPL 2/3 seasons season, but pls the Argy needs to go (but pls not to 'em Scousers).

Modern footie involves Wing Back, infact the term Left back is getting obsolete and may soon be discarded. Evra, has no doubts given us this wing back shield protection. His bombing up and down the flank has been a great asset to United's attack- minded games. Ok, Evra could get crocked, who is our replacement, Silvestre is shity too, but his major prob is concentration and that SAF can work on. Oshea could also be a replacement for LB, cos the midfield is jampacked already so no ROOM for Oshea, Fletcher!!!

Verdict : Discard Heinze for 6 million quids to Real Madrid ( Good bargain ), Saha the national deception, apologies to jackal  grin needs to get his contract revised to a Kanu-like contract, play as you earn!. Richardson should get away to 'em Cats at Sunderland!

FBS is a diseased-coochie.
I am going to retire is very different from i was sacked.
Ferguson had to appeal to Abrahamovic to let Jose Mourinho stay last season when their beef got heated up.

Ronaldo scored more goals than Lampard last season so what are u on about?
Lampard's 16 goals in the 2005-2006 season is a record for a midfielder in the English Premier League, but this record was beaten by Cristiano Ronaldo on 5 May 2007 in a match against Manchester City when Cristiano notched 17 goals.

Its obvious u dont check ur facts.
U r truly a pussy.

@ Jackal, I concurr, son!!!!

Obviously, people are ignorant of the "Hair-dryer treatment" and "Flying cups @ Halftime show". The reason SAF has achieved a lotta domestic success has something to do with his fiery and fury. His hair dryer treatment is enough to scare you shitless in ur pants and make you gear up to play some good footie. I read an interview of the Frenchies of Old tradfford ( Saha, Silvestre , Evra). They said they were winning a game 2-0 at half time and SAF was yelling at their faces and screaming as if they were loosing 8-0!!!

His Man-management skills are second to none!!! The man is crazy about his dressing room like crazy. Playas who tried breaking that dressing room spirit were shown the exit doors of carrington training ground. Ask the Almighty Keano, even the indispensable RVN was displaced, What about Jaap Stam who was bamboozled out even though he was at his peak after helping United to a Premiership Title, World club championships et al?

Someone said sack Fergie? Well, on a serious note i heard about the speculation but ofcos it emanated from the Tabloids. Yeah the same Brit Tabloids that saya Bush and Condi Rice have the hots for each other shocked shocked grin grin cheesy cheesy.

Fergie is an Institution, can you displace an Institution? undecided undecided. Hell Nah!

the other thing is, JM is good at what he does, lets see how far AF can go, until his arrival there was no serious competition in the EPL and that is why the like of Jakass and loyaki-my ass are singing like u never won a title before, i feel o jare, its not easy, u na fear the JM effect, who else wouldn't!!!!

he said he was going to retire (even that, you got it wrong, it wasn't in the 80's, get ur facts b4 u open ur mouth), no he was almost sacked, I tell and take it, that had he not won the carling cup that year, his ass would have been history,

@ Loyika,

I think we should ignore this IRRITANT.
He loves the attention of the whole Nairaland seeing him as an slowpoke.
Alex Ferguson described the 1989 season as the darkest period he ever suffered as a manager.
United went on a run of 6 defeats and 2 draws in 8 successive games and he was due to be sacked.

In 1990, Ferguson's job was in the balance and would have been sacked if United had lost to the fearsome Notthingham forest in the FA cup.
It was sure as HELL that United would lose the match but Fergie turned it to victory and later reached the final.
The match against Forest is still known everywhere in England as the match that saved Fergie's job.
FBS is a pillock and i think we should all let him display his idiocy some more.
Its a characteristic of all Chelsea fans locally and internationally.

Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 4:02pm On Jul 16, 2007
Loyika is a GOONER but he knows too much about Premiership clubs and he knows Ferguson is an institution.
Man Utd V Chelsea wont be a big deal. It will just be a testimonial match that will allow United to unveil their new players.
Nani and Anderson might want to prove a point or two to Jose Mourinho but Ronaldo will be hoping to silence his countryman.

he's reponse simply was "Well . . . God's going down tonight!"

Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by loyika(m): 5:42pm On Jul 16, 2007
@ Rikky

Soon you will be asking me for the secret to my name grin grin

Yup!! Pre 89 i was a Pool fan, not so much that i dug them, but my "Old man" loved Liverpool, so we were forced to like them as well grin grin

But while at College, most of my mates supported Arsenal cause of Rocastle (and Thomas to a little extent), you know at that time, it was usually teams in the south that really gave Black players a chance (apart from The Pool with Barnesy and N Forrest sha).

So when Arsenal played Pool in the last game of that season, i was surpporting The Pool, but rooting for Arsenal!! when Smugers scored and Thomas did the "Last Minute" goal stuff, i just "Jumped up and down" with all my mates, as we were happy that a black player gave Arsenal the title on that night. BEEN A FAN EVER SINCE cool

It also helped that my cousin started playing in the youth team!! cool (didn't make it though cry Oh well can't have everything i guess!!)
