Okay . . . . . .
Lemme stop calling u names but what do u want me to talk about?
My point is . . . .ARSENAL'S youthful side is yet to win any title even though they defeated Newcastle.
Its too early to start having erections. LONG-TERM erections can cause BLUEBALLS.
If u dont believe me . . . .Ask LORDI . . . .He was taken to the hospital last week when he had a long term ERECTION on someone's CHESTICLES.
Lordi developed belly-aches and nearly died . . . . . How he survived is miraculous.

Theres nuthing u can do to me.
Just sit back and watch me tear u into shreds without hurting ur personality.

@ Jackal

Stop talking bollocks, Not being bothered about the Carling Cup is not what Fergie is dismayed about, Like Rafa said; "He didn't come to England to win the CC", and most folks don't take it seriously eitherway.

What Fergie was sad about is the response of his young players and how they didn't perform in a way he hoped they would;

"I was absolutely flabbergasted by that performance," said Ferguson. "I did not expect that at all. I am not interested in giving reasons or mitigating circumstances. It was just a very bad performance."

After spending the past 18 months hailing his emerging talent, Ferguson could scarcely understand what went so badly wrong.

"We have trumpeted these young lads a lot, so what happened tonight was a big shock for us all," admitted Ferguson. "You want to give these boys a chance and we have not had the opportunity to do that. The number of Coventry fans who came made it a real cup-tie atmosphere and maybe that was an issue for some of our players because in the first half, we were second to every ball."

Now there is nothing defeatist in those comments, the Scot was just being honest and speaking his mind, Does the CC have any bearing on the League!? No!! As it ends early enough for Managers not to really claim "Overload" (although most do grin). But it is an irritating comp eitherway you look at it undecided

What is worrisome to your Gaffer is that you want to trust most of these lads to deliver on their big night, and you want your supporters to feel secure that you are grooming talents, the likes of Becks, Scholes and co, instead of buying young talent (Which every club now does).

Guys like Pique and Eagles have been in the wings for quite sometime now, and they should use these kind of opportunities to let the gaffer know they are ready for the Big time games.

Besides don't think Fergie loved to lose that game, it was at Home, and folks paid good money to come out. So i doubt Fergie would be foolish enough to make jest of the loss (That would be insulting to fan, cause if they were not bothered they would have just sat at home (Like Chelsea fans did when their team played Rosenborg) and watched it on MUTV).

And another thing, FERGIE LIKE MOST MANAGERS, DON'T LOVE LOSING AT ANYTHING!! Even if its just a friendly game of Chess, its not in his nature!! So he was honest when he said he was "Flabbergasted!!"

Lets not always try and put a spin on everything. (ITain't necessary lipsrsealed)

Nairaland rocks!!!

Please you guys should be easy on Lordi. Like I've said a million times, he's a good boy. grin  And Jackal, the fact that he nearly died from blueballs is an indication that he isn't a self-servicer. Some other dude would jerk off to ease the pressure. grin

Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Iman3(m): 2:26pm On Sep 27, 2007
@Loyika a.k.a Poof Daddy

Of course Fergie was dissapointed by the performance of some of the young lads on the night. He however has been in the game long enough to know that the prospects of young lads can't be determined in a single 90 mins game of football.

Players like Pique,Nani,Anderson and Evan have proven over full seasons that they are great prospects. . .for them collectively to have one bad game is dissapointing but ultimately. . . no intelligent person trys to make a mountain out of a mole hill by giving the impression that Fergie's youth policy has suffered a significant setback(which is what your idiot self is implying).

Utd is one of the rare clubs to have players who actually emerged from its academy as its key players.Given the paucity of talent in the Isles, clubs have to make do now with grabbing youngsters from abroad and we have some of the best in Anderson,Nani,Pique and Ronaldo irrespectivwe of their perfomance in a single game.

Like I said, only an idiot takes Fergie's words here literally. Even the famous 95/95 team was defeated 3-0 by some Mickey Mouse club(York City) in the League Cup-players like Butt,Scholes,G.Neville,P.Neville all played and they were crap in that game.Wonder what happened to them. . . . . by the way Fergie was "heavily disapointed" then as he is now.

Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 2:32pm On Sep 27, 2007
@ Loyika,

Of course . . . .It is expected for Ferguson to be disappointed.
Afterall, United was playing at home and stuffs but Ferguson did not come to England to chase Carling Cup.
Its a burden to Ferguson and i am sure he would not lose sleep about it.

United's youth team are still the best in the country.
They went to the World Youth club competiton and won in August beating the likes of Juventus and Boca Juniors.
The likes of Arsenal and Chelsea were there and didnt even qualify in the group stages.

If i am to scrutinise it critically, Ferguson played God with the team last season by sending most of em out on loan.
He kept some . . . .He sent some away thus disturbing the flow and the togetherness of that team,
Arsenal's lads have been together for some time thus forming a good understanding and boosting team chemistry.
There's no excuse but i still believe in those young lads . . . .They are thick but they need time.
Nani is 20 . . . .Anderson is 19! They need time to adapt.
Evra and Vidic stuttered badly when they joined Man Utd . . . .Can u say the same about em now?
Both of em made the PFA team last season.
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by ritchboi: 2:41pm On Sep 27, 2007
Dats it,i'm outa here, jackal,u no wat 2 do wen i get bak
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by loyika(m): 2:42pm On Sep 27, 2007
@ Jackal

No one is saying Fergie will lose sleep, No top Manager really makes the CC his priority. All i was alluding to (as you agreed with) was the fact that Fergie's comments should not just be swept aside. Much is expected from lads that wear the shirts of teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, and United. For most folks its a lifetime opportunity.

Granted most might never make it to the first grade, but thats life. Guys like Pique look class and will be around for a long time. Its just a pity Nani and Anderson did not take this opportunity to shine on their own stage (with out playing second fiddle to the first teamers in the League).

Anyway Life moves on for you scummies; 1 down 3 to go grin grin

cool GOONER 89

P.S. Have you gone back to give the Gypsy cash, your time is running out oh, Game week 8 approaches grin grin
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Iman3(m): 2:45pm On Sep 27, 2007
@Jackal

Anybody hyperventillating over United vs Coventry, should watch York City vs United(95/96 League Cup) with the likes of Scholes,Butt and Gary Neville playing like pregnant women.Scholes was running like he was pulling a truck.A bad game of football is always disappointing, but it doesn't really tell us much.

I remember games were the likes of Jonathan Greening,Luc Chadwick and Danny Higinbotham who were oustanding in one particular game(I believe it was against Spurs in the 00/01 season) where are they now?Even if Utd played excellently last night,it still won't tell us much either way for its only a single game.

The main drawback is the Cup offers an opportunity for many of those lads to have a go at competitive matches. But then, there are relatively few games to be played anyway.

Who remembers Bojan Djordjic who chipped the Celtic keeper from the half way line? The boy ended up at Plymouth Argyle
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 2:56pm On Sep 27, 2007
@ Loyika,

Pique came from the same Barca's academy that produced Messi, Fabregas, Bojan and Merida.
There's no doubt about it . . . . .Pique is CLASS. One freak game is not enough to write them off just like that.
Patrice Evra's 1st league game was disastrous against Man City . . . . .He is now arguably the best LB in the Premiership.
Vidic also had an appaling start in his 1st 5 months before becoming a rock at Man Utd.

Nani and Anderson are potentials . . . . They will have to wait on the sidelines for a long time.
Mind u . . . .They are not even meant to be balls of fire at this moment.
Expect em to mature by next season and give the gaffer what he really bargained for.
1 down to 3 to go . . . .At this stage last season, Arsenal were chasing all the 4 titles but guess what?
They lost all the 4 titles in a single week  grin grin grin grin grin . . .

@ Ritchboi,

Why are u seeking ma attention.
Ok . . . .I am not ready to answer u at the moment.
Leave me alone. Ooooops, come back by 9 pm to get your reply.
You better tell em chics to leave CHACAL alone cos i am in a FIGHT MODE now.
