house37: I happen to have met a lot of medical students during my time at the medical school, and I can attest to the fact that only about 20% of qualified doctors can be said to be actually brilliant!! Many get through medical school via means that I would rather not talk about here! Lets face the argument and avoid personal attacks!! This pharmacist guy may well have gotten his JAMB score and is probably more intelligent than many doctors!!! However, this does not imply that doctors do not have a case when they insist on being in charge of patient care in hospitals...Doctors are the head of the health care team and this singular fact is reflected in their training and development (despite the fact that we have a lot of charlatans masquerading as doctors because they acquired an MBBS or MBBCH). 1 Like

My initial response is adequate. I also didn't expected any other thought process from you. Aren't they fraudulent pharmacies and labs? Run at substandard level/ practicing criminal activities. The trend is general so don't point fingers |

jpphilips: like d saying in political sphere 'to provide a level playing field' shld b guide in career advancement of diff players in d health industry but within legal and profession guidelines. have d health administrators and cmds been just and fair to all players, have there been lopsided treatment to any side, what brought about d reversal of headship of public hospitals during Ransome Kuti era as MOH. if there are clear cut roles for diff professional consultants, how is d patient care at risk. i do not think johesu is out t prove d indispensability of nma or otherwise bt t insist on growth & improvement of d sector for d betterment of d system. rather it is d nma using position inducement & intimidation in various hosps to puncture johesu strike. d cmd nma always com mandeer emergency services in d interest of patient but either look d other way or turn incapable of replicating same whenever nma is on strike. indispensability !!! someone is insisting 2 Likes |

docadams:Nurse Practitioners perform surgeries(though, myt b limited) |
Re: JOHESU Sues NMA, Says Doctors Strike Illegal by allycat: 5:08pm On Jul 18, 2014 |
Samgreguc: No nurse practitioners do not perform surgeries, they assist surgeons. In sane climates even general practitioners only do minor surgeries like cutting open a boil called an I&, removal of small warts, or in grown toenails and if trained emergency procedures like tracheostomies which are life saving and cannot wait even 10 minutes where necessary to save a life. Otherwise they refer to a specialist. These are even people with post graduate medical training in family medical practice. |

U may not really understand what is happening. JOHESU is never fighting against NMA n its allies but NMA n allies are together fighting against JOHESU growth. A group of professional should not fight against the other, each professional group should be given all d chance to grow n bring new innovation. Clinical diagnosis to me are baseless assumption but confirmation for disease state comes via laboratory diagnosis. 92% if not 99% of a patient treatment is a measure of what that medical laboratory scientist is able to do. Let all this professional grow n b Happy. Let all patients be glad When they go n come back from the hospital. Medicine of today is all about laboratory medicine. Radiology position is a great stand. Empower nurses to care well for your son, daughter, mother, father, uncle, cousins etc. My dear without proper matching of even the ABO blood group by a medical scientist which sounds simple, a doctor will have no option that let your child die. A medical laboratory scientist is like a god or oracle and the doctor a prophet or the oracle eye or consultant. Think about the job of a pharmacist. What if your drugs and medicine are not well formulated, what happens. The health care professional should be a team n a group. And i think a team should always work for the common good of all. Wake up all. 1 Like |
