Chiefpriest1:
These people should go learn how to play the opposition and stop all these childish nonsense.

So, did buhari's wife buy the watch after her husband became president?

Assuming the watch is really N10m as claimed, can't someone who has worked all her life and indeed consulted for an oil company afford a good watch?

Modesty is a personal issue. Buhari has never said his wife was modest or a modest dresser. Whatever she wears, fits her Though.

Its too early to be childishly critical of buhari and his wife.

Jonathan had overwhelming goodwill until two years after he became president and he decided to remove fuel subsidy after nigerians traveled for Christmas and new year and couldn't return.

While being critical, let's remember that to make Nigeria greater is the main objective, not to pull anyone down like some people are doing.
I like dis post!nigerians traveled for Christmas and new year and couldn't return.

If this woman was in government, Nigerians would have labelled her a thief. You see!
To every Nigerian (excluding me) all rich people especially politicians are corrupt.

Photos of Nigeria's first lady wearing an expensive watch led some Nigerians to ask whether they undermine President Buhari's "man of the people" image.

In March, Muhammadu Buhari was elected as Nigeria's new president after a campaign which took a strong anti-corruption stance. Buhari underlined his humble credentials by raising money from ordinary voters. He even had to stretch his finances to pay the fee to register as a candidate.

This image was diluted somewhat when his wife, Aisha Buhari, was pictured wearing an expensive-looking watch at her husband's inauguration last week and these images were shared on the Instagram account of the photographer George Okoro.

Nigerian press described it as a Cartier Baignoire Folle 18-carat white gold diamond timepiece that was estimated to cost around $50,000 - more than £30,000 or about 10m Nigerian naira. Others, however, pointed out that knockoff versions are available for as little as $100.

Around 3,000 tweets mentioning the first lady's name and the word "watch" have been posted. Many were critical and raised a sceptical eyebrow about where Mrs Buhari might have got the money to buy such an expensive piece of jewellery. "Aisha Buhari will be wearing a N10million watch and her husband told us he borrowed money to buy his presidential nomination form," said Twitter user Kate Vincent.

But others defended her: "Aisha Buhari didn't use Nigeria's money to buy her watch so what exactly is the problem? Am i missing something? Why is it a big deal?" tweeted @SalaudeenNana.

Just because you have a tough stance on.corruption does not mean that you can't buy yourself beautiful things especially if it with your hard earned money.
Why we even discussing this?

Obama or his wife cant wear a 10million naira watch not because they cant afford it but because its waste of money and portrays them as extravagant. We only claim we want an end to corruption by words and not action. Just look at some Nigerians defending the first lady and making some silly excuses like "its a gift", gift from who and for what?
