@ ABUJA EMBASSY YESTERDAY, JUST 5 OUT OF 30 STUDENTS WAS SUCESSFUL

I prayed, fasted, I was bold, spoke smartly, answered all questions regarding to my purposing for schooling in US and why I choose d specific school.
I really dont know why i was denied by the Abuja female VO, She authoritatively denied me for no reason.
At a point, She wasnt sure of my answer " I choose my school because my school was among the us universities that offer such a technological course of my choice' Building construction site management and she replied " all us universities offer technological course" and I opposed her and she left her counter to confirm from her colleagues.
She came back to ask other questions and I answered her politely.
She refused me even without going through my documents and without give me any reason for denial.
very strange.

My advise to evryone: try not to avoid anybody @ d counter, just pray for FAVOR OF GOD.
IT SHALL BE WELL.

I gave d consular my documents, he checked my waec n asked wat have been doing since 8 yrs n i gave him my bsc den he said u re almost 23 n u finished sec sch at 15 n i said yes. Asked 4 my transcript n i gave it 2 him den he circled a course on my transcript n i told him wat it is.
List d components of a cell? Told him, what is name of d water surrounding a cell wall? Told him bt wasn't sure. He smiles n i said dat biology n i read microbiology, n he said he said organism has cell wall: i said nt really. Looked at my I-20 n asked why i was going 4 an undergrad again, told him i wnt 2 read medicine den come back 2 nig 2 work. Asked which sch of med, told him; said both in ohio(yes). Do you knw any1 dere, i said no. Why ohio; it has an excellent teaching staff n it is surrounded by health care centres were i can do volutary servic to acquire exposure, experience n knowledge 4 med sch. Den looked n said am nt sure wen u get dere u re gonna come back. He seized my transcript wthout telling me until i went back n was told 2 wait 4 a call 4rm antifraud unit, almost immediately it was released 2 me.

@ seedord247

If you are 21yrs old, finished secondary education at the of 15 with 8 A1s in your WAEC, graduated with a 1st Class in a Nigerian University at 21, scored 1570 in GRE, got admitted to one of US ivy leagues for a Masters, and confidently able to break down Theory of Computations to the VO in 1minute, I doubt if any right thinking VO will want you to leave the US after your education.

Yes, I made a mistake of saying I won't come back. If you were referring to me in your last post, I guess you now see why I am in the USA. By the way, you made a mistake about Wole Soyinka, comparing him to desperate folks is senseless. As a matter of fact, those guys at the embassy see it as a blessing if somebody like him wants to live permanently in their country.

Thanks for the words of encouragement people. I'm not deterred cos I know I'm gonna get it. The denial actually strengthen my resolve and I'm doing all I can to get a date. December 14th is a little far for me. I was told I shouldn't have been honest, that I should have said I applied to 3 schools instead of 4 considering I got admission from just one school. Donno if that was the reason for my denial though I doubt that cos I've read through the pages of this thread and applying to 4 schools is quite normal. Anyway, I'm getting my visa the next time I go there. The US consulate can only hold my visa for so long. Thanks for the kind words people, If anybody knows how I can get a date this month, please let me know.

Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by khrisponty(m): 7:39pm On Nov 03, 2011
@All of you that got denied, its nt about wat u said, or dint say, or body language, or self composure, or facial xpression, or the way u dressed, or how relaxed you looked or how nervous or anxious you came across to the officer. It is very simple, they reject you, n u pay money for another interview, and they reject you again and you book another appointment and pay money again. Its about the *MONEY* this is a source of income for their economy. Its not about God, is not bout satan. That's jus the bitter truth. They are feedn off our desperation to go abroad. #CHI-CHinG.

@khrisponty

I agreed with you at this moment. House, if you are going for your visa interview all you need do is pray and ask for God's grace because at this moment YANKEE is broke, they need money what you can hear from VO is "you can apply again" without any reason for your denial.
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by kinkyfrag: 9:36pm On Nov 03, 2011
@imperioxx he already has a diploma n is applying 4 a BS n all she said was he doesn't need a degree since he was already working 4 his dad, imagine dat! @zico, it is nt a crime 2 fall bt wen u refuse 2 rise up again it becomes an issue. I believe we u apply 4 emergency, u no longer hv a right 2 choose if is lag or abj. @house i cld use ur advice on how to improve myself next i face d consular.
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by zicoisaac: 10:12pm On Nov 03, 2011
@ imperiousxx, she was referin to me, i hold university diploma certificate but d consular wasnt aware of my qualification. She was just being too forward and ready to denial me immediately but its wasnt easy for her because i didnt take easy wit her wit my propmt answers and polite approach, dats was why she was asking me irrelevant question, i corrected her twice
1. My school is one of d universities in US dat offer such technological  course of my choice 'Building construction site management'
And the lady VO response was just out of my point. Though she went inside to confirm it wit one of her colleague.
2. She kept askin me why i want to go for anoda degree before confirmin my qualification and my present status. Meanwhile,I hold university diploma and av been assisting my father as surpervisor after graduation. nothin workin officialy wit him.
3. I told her hw the course is important to me, my father, and my country: the course is essential to my country development strategy in the area of buildin construction sector. That US curriculum and exposure will give me added skills needed to survive in this modern world.
To my surprise, I noticed that each time I try to attach how my country will benefit from me, the more she gets mad, no no no tell me why u choose dis course 'am not ready to issue you a visa'
3. She ask for the location of d school, i told her d full address, immediately, she just concluded dat u see am not just ready to issue you visa. , boi my head swol, i shouted why? Whats ur proof?and i left her counter and went outside to question my GOD, and GOD replied: SON!!! NEVER WORRY, I AM DAT I AM, I HEARD GOD SPOKE. I WILL SURELY GET MY US STUDENT VISA THIS YEAR IN JESUS NAME. AMEN.

Stop this nonsense, we commit blunders unknowingly sometimes including you yourself. You go through the whole Travel section spotting mistakes without any good contributions to issues. Shiiiior!

Tell me, is there anyone that is error free? So each time you notice one you pick on it? Let's drop that and face important issues.

You yourself? Is that an appropriate english expression.Well, you just made a pernicious and absolutely ludicrous allegation on an innocuos comment of mine.i dont visit this thread seeking to correct mistakes, but when i spot some errors i deem unpardonable,i am compelled to make references.A prospective American university student is not expected to commit errors in parallelism,Subject-verb agreement, diction, dangling modifiers etc.
My post was by no means disparaging.
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by herself(f): 8:48am On Nov 04, 2011
Did you see me correct anybody's grammar? What's my business with that? Or have you seen me talk out of point here, harass anybody? Everybody on this thread is here for one thing- to get their visa. I'm not a grammar nazi. If I have inquiries as regards what I'm on the travel section for, I ask. Politely. I don't want trouble with anyone. Especially you, that's been a big help on this thread.
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by herself(f): 8:54am On Nov 04, 2011
Imperiouxx, my bad. I thought I saw you say 'herself'. No wonder I was wondering how 'I' came into your discussion. I'm sorry about that. Let's leave grammatical errors and move forward. So far, we've had sad news on this thread this session. Let's look for ways to change that. Encourage each other and share ideas and knowledge like its always been. God will bless our efforts and grant us our heart desires.
