Bros, that's exactly what pito and I concluded. The main trick is the dish I think. Even the best lnb on a dis-used, warped dish will still give you a very poor result. I think that guys's mould is very good and again he is able to get his focal point very accurate.
Every other thing like alignment, plumbing also falls into place for mine.

@kascar,
adewest was attending a course last time I spoke with him. It's been over a month now though.
I tried calling him last two weeks but looks like he was too busy to pick his calls. You know how
it is with service men. I'm sure he will come out of hibernation at the right time.

is go africa still on w3a?
Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by GeorgeD1(m): 10:12am On Apr 08, 2009
@enitan,
It's been long since I watched w3a but last time i checked, it was still there.
I will confirm later tonight when i get home.
When you also finish installing your nilesat, you will hardly have time for all
these 'small, small' stations grin

Here is a close up shot of my fuji. You notice it is the screw type?
Looks like these are the 'new' models they have now, so they are
not fake afterall.

Here is the signal quality I got after finetuning the dish on sunday.
An amazing 91% on 10758V!

Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by GeorgeD1(m): 10:23am On Apr 08, 2009
Check OK tv (still 10758V transponder) on 94% signal quality.
Does it get better than this? smiley smiley smiley

Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by odilibe(m): 10:50am On Apr 08, 2009
@KASCAR
EPL:do u mean english premier league(itv) astra 2d at 28.2e.
getting a 4.4m dish attempting to pick astra 2d could be a waste
of time and money cos itv is
a local channel in
london/uk which
can be received
using an ordinary
indoor antenna
connected to
free2view dvb
decoder they
dont have rights
to show epl the
sky digital pay-tv
which is on the
same astra 2d
has the rights but
it is scrambled.
if u want to hook
to astra 2d for
the sake of itv
i dont think it
is a good idea.
A motorised 2.4m
pan dish can pick
nilesat-7west,
etv on sirius
4 they show uefa
sometime.2m national on eutelsat w6 at 21.5east they
show english premier league.
etv on pas 10
at 68.5 east they
show uefa. see
lyngsat astra 2d
signal is too weak. it's footprint did not
cover the middle
east and north africa.
astra 2d could be
impossible and hard to track in
west africa.
Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by Nobody: 11:19am On Apr 08, 2009
@ odilibe, word well spoken. @ george, changd my sirus back to w3a yesterday and go africa was found wanting, even after i have my nile installed i'll still have nothing less than 6 nos of 90cm dishes. nss7-lc2 for CAF, w3a-mbc for fa cup, sirus-etv feeds for epl, pas7-etv for champions league,cheaters,rythm city,ripley bliv it or not, WWE, 26e-2m for epl. i cant get all my satisfaction on nile cos i aint going for any echo, so my satisfaction aint centred around nile. NILE-here i come. @ those that have registered at d group on facebook, i say thank u all, but more of u guys are still invited, butoneday, george, jossy to name a few.
Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by badaru1(m): 2:27pm On Apr 08, 2009
@george d

That is agood signal,remember to get nile u have to lift the dish up that position a little. That will reduce the signal
Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by loluskysat(m): 5:33pm On Apr 08, 2009
@ Enitan

If you Motorising a 1.8m dish you will get all and more rather than using six 90cm.

That is what i'm using.

all,
I eventually met Enigma in Abeokuta at a wedding.He was magnanimous enough to bring two serial port-serial port cables from the UK for Enitan and I.
I tried picking SilverbirdTV on intel903 but the signal wouldnt come.the same with Daarsat.I couldnt see the signal at all.
what is wrong with Showtime as it goes off everytime there are Epl matches?they come back every Monday after denying us the matches.

Enitan/Pitodenz,
It is looking like my in-law Engineer Enny Ash---o is not revealing everything or why would it work perfectly on ur system and not work for others,not one person oooo.If there are new direct IPs,pls let us know.I am pissed off with the epileptic freedom.

Graciousme,
I tried getting you on phone.It seems something is wrong.I will try again tonight.why didnt you get echolink?I missed talking to you.
Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by pitodenz(m): 9:46pm On Apr 08, 2009
If u re using starsat or any other receiver for abracadabra card. Dont just wait for an update that ll bear ur receiver name,get to know the class of chips your receiver falls in.(eta,beta,alpha,epsilon e.t.c). Like starsat update came today at satmac but i ve upgraded with echolink eta file since day b4 yesterday.

@ tox
your-freedom is the best of the ftb softwares if u know how to use it.The thing dey fast no bi small and u can acess any application u ve in ur system. Just follow my instructions in the group,no cheat,no % just ems.your-freedom.de u know what i mean. grin
Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by GeorgeD1(m): 9:02am On Apr 09, 2009
@enitan,
I checked for go africa last night but no luck. Seems they've joined the league of stations playing
hide and seek on w3a.

About your six 90cm dishes, you know I just smiled when I saw your post. Loluskysat already spoke my
mind regarding that. I was not implying you will stop watching other stations when you have nilesat
all I was suggesting is that you will frequent them less and less when you come into the nile family.
I was having this array of 90cm dishes scattered around the compund just like you untill it struck my mind
to do away with them and install a motorised system. Now I have a comstar 2.5m mesh which takes care
of all the birds you mentioned and even some more.
If space is not a constraint for you, I suggest you do likewise. In the long run, it will pay you better. Even
a 1.8m motorised may be cheaper than having all those 6 dishes littered about your house. And, by the
way, I watched CHELSEA Vs LIVERPOOL yesternight on w3a with my mesh.

On the issue of getting ECHOLINK/starsat for nilesat, I think it's a personal thing. If your're not so hot on showtime and art packages, STRONG will do for you. But then, the question is: after investing so much to
put up such a mass of a dish, you bring the signal in, is it the extra change of getting a decoder that will
stop you from watching what you have brought in? In any case, you don't have to buy it immediately. Like myself, you can always plan for it and buy at a most convienient time.
Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by GeorgeD1(m): 9:08am On Apr 09, 2009
@jujukemist,
Looks like you're back to base. I been trying to get you on phone for a while
now. Thanks so much for that stuff.

@pito,
I was able to do the upgrade-eventually yesternight. No be small heat that
thing give me o! But anyway sha, na experience.

@olofofo,
Thanks once again for the satmac link. E be like say I go later go for echolink too.
Starsat is very good but looks like it's infrared signal is interferring with my
eurostar positioner remote. Na wa o grin
