Flam-ster talked about a "bond" and YET decided to leave;maybe the bond does not matter to him undecided

A one season wonder who talks from both side of the mouth is not what i want back in the squad.

If Song's improvement can continue the way it is,then i think there should be less talk about "Cashley's brother from another mother".

That's by the way,a piece of news on injuries here:

Arsenal may welcome back Manuel Almunia, Johan Djourou and Emmanuel Adebayor for the visit of Middlesbrough on Sunday.

The Spanish keeper (ankle) and the Swiss defender (knee) came back to training on Thursday while the Togolese striker (hamstring) is set to join in on Saturday.

However, on the downside, Robin van Persie (groin) will be out until at least the trip to Portsmouth next week, meaning he misses the Champions League Semi-Final first leg. Gael Clichy (back) is NOT ruled out for the season but he is sidelined until at least the return game against Sir Alex Ferguson’s side on May 5.

“From Tuesday night we are quite safe,” Wenger told Arsenal TV Online on Thursday. “We will rotate a little bit again but we have no major injuries from Liverpool.

“Manuel Almunia was in full training today and we’ll see how he responds. Djourou was in full training also so we’ll see how he is too. Both could come back into the squad. It is not enough training to say [for sure] yet we need 48 hours more.

“Emmanuel Adebayor should come back into the training on Saturday. He could be in the squad.

“But Robin van Persie is definitely out for Sunday and for Manchester United.

“Gael Clichy could be back for the second Manchester United game. He has a scan on Monday. We’ll go from there. He has a chance to be back in full training next week.”

Wenger also confirmed that William Gallas (knee) and Tomas Rosicky (hamstring tendon) will definitely miss the rest of the season
.

http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/almunia-djourou-and-adebayor-close-to-return

I wonder why Tomas is still mentioned though,or is any one out there still relating him with this season? undecided

My major worry though for the UCL is Gibbs, can he cope with C.Ronaldo?

The joke is on Monsieur Nic anelka this morning.

http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_5231390,00.html

ANELKA: ARSENAL ONLY AIM FOR TOP FOUR

Chelsea 8/11, Draw 5/2, West Ham 4/1
Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka has blasted former club Arsenal's title credentials by labelling them a team who only "aim for third or fourth place".

Anelka, who played for the Gunners between 1997 and 1999, also believes the Blues are a bigger club than their London rivals.

The comments come just a week after Chelsea came from a goal behind to beat Arsene Wenger's side 2-1 in the FA Cup semi-finals.

The Frenchman, who is the Premier League's joint top-scorer despite a run of 11 games without a goal, has had a turbulent relationship with Arsenal fans ever since he left for Real Madrid and his latest outburst will not have helped matters.

"Chelsea are a mega club composed of top players, within which you have to win every game because you are under massive pressure," he said in the Daily Mirror.

"You have to win week in, week out. It is different from at Arsenal. There is a context surrounding the club because of the chairman Mr Abramovich that makes people speak about Chelsea more than about Arsenal.

"Arsenal are composed of young players, aiming for third or fourth place, but we do not really speak about them for the title.

"Chelsea are like Real Madrid - the pressure here is huge."

However the 30-year-old did praise Wenger for bringing him to England from Paris Saint-Germain as a raw teenager.

"I still enjoy a tremendous relationship with Arsene," he added.

"You must respect such a manager for all the things he has done for so many players.

"Thanks to him I have got to know England and I am still there despite all the things that have happened throughout my career."

To be convinced that Le Sulk is talking rubbish.

Good morning to you all
This morning I read comments made by Nicolas Anelka, where he suggested that Chelsea are like Real Madrid,at first I just smiled and thought what an idiot, but then it started to wind me up, so I thought I would do a little research,it just goes to show some/most footballers should really keep their thoughts to themselves.

More . . . . . . . . . . .

Abromovich: "I don't understand Guus. Why did you not beat Everton? Is it money? Do you need more money? BECAUSE I THINK I HAVE GIVEN ENOUGH!?"

Guss Hiddink: "No it's not the money. Sometimes you just don't get the goal needed for a win. Everton in fairness played very well and, "

Abromovich: "I DO NOT CARE HOW WELL THEY PLAYED. I'VE GIVEN THIS CLUB MONEY. MONEY SOLVES EVERYTHING! Where is the one you call Anelka, bring him in!"

*Anelka shuffles in*

Abromovich: "Anelka! Why did you not score against Everton!?"

Nicolas Anelka: "I did try but, "

Abromovich: "ANYONE CAN TRY! I WANT YOU TO WIN! WIN! WIIIIINNN!"

Abromovich: "Is it the money Nicolas? Do you need more money?"

Nicolas Anelka: "Yes"

Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by A40(m): 12:52pm On Apr 24, 2009
@HNIC
Anelka is a disgruntled ex how can his rants be taken serious? he had a chance to make Chelsea a bigger club than Arsenal in Moscow and he blew it! so he can eat a manliness with shyte on the tip

As for the Silvestre issue the ironic part is he had a solid game when United came to the Emirates and played arguably his best game for Arsenal so the truth is he might either be our saviour or doom us to defeat with his goofs i am not counting on the former based on his recent performances though and i would still hope for Djourou to be fit in time for the game against the Scummies

I tire for Rosicky please when is his contract expiring?

I think we should wrap Eduardo in cast or plastic he needs to be rested on Sunday abeg so he is fresh for the crunch game against the Scummies
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by debosky(m): 1:19pm On Apr 24, 2009
Rozzi and Gallas definitely out for the season. . . .Almunia, Ade and JD to be fit for Sunday. cool

IMO, I'd rather not even play Ade on Sunday - I'd play either Dudu/Nicklas with Arshavin playing support striker behind. RVP is definitely out for the semis which is a good/bad thing - Wenger cannot stick him out on the left in the asinine FA cup formation, and if he plays Dudu, the man is more than capable of playing on the left unlike RVP who is hit and miss there.

I am very glad Almunia is coming back - he should play on Sunday to get his bearings, ditto for Djourou.

Wednesday is going to be the biggest game of the season for us - I won't mind rotating a bit for Sunday, but we must win so we can keep up momentum prior to the big clash.

All in all, we have more than enough ammo to kill Boro, but they will be fighting tooth and nail because they are in the relegation fight.

As long as Wenger plays people in their right positions and takes on an ATTACKING formation then we will be fine.

What tape? There is NO tape - Brown just coached his boys to tell the same lies. The spitting incident is still 'alleged' showing there is no proof. The accusation is about 'how he came on the pitch' which is a load of tosh in my opinion - pompous FA officials want to legislate that players shouldn't wear jeans on the pitch. Buncha prats who won't punish Diouf for nearly breaking Almunia's ankle but are concerned about dressing.

We have till May 12th to respond. At that point the suspension (if it comes) would be meaningless. tongue

at worst, the suspension would be for next season.
Hull has been on a free fall since that incidence.
To the championship they must return and never come up again!

Don't complain when Cesc lands his 5-match suspension in the middle of next season like they hung EVRA!!!
It's better to serve it now than next season when his absence might impede Arsenal's title chase.

Would really love to see Arshavin in the "hole" on Sunday. Dudu is ripe for a goal if he plays. Denilson-Diaby central midfield. Ebue on the right. Gibbs should play again. It'll do him a world of good. Fabrigas, walcott, Ade should all be wrapped in a bubble. They will be the Mancunians undoing.
