onyinye2: You girls really should quit being so dramatic If she really did nothing wrong and he beat her up, different story. But evidence has shown that this is a very less than satisfactory model of a wife, hence the husband should be given a chance. At least he didn't beat her up. . .shows he actually cares about his baby Still not excusing the slaps. Just saying y'all should reason and realize that this woman is the one provoking her man. If you don't take care of the root cause of a problem, it will keep recurring. Might be the next man she marries and opens her mouth to insult that will actually take a butcher knife and cut her open. Help this woman, ladies, and tell her her faults is all I'm asking. @David I agree. Those raised abroad are the ones that will simply take a gun, blow her brains out and bury her in the backyard. Dude'll be married again in 2 months. |

sillyboy: @ the last bolded part: I'm sure you know some naija men require their wives to submit their paychecks to them (the husbands) as soon as it comes in. From the supposedly combined paychecks, the man now "graciously" gives the wife money to feed the ousehold. That's some guys' idea of a happy marriage!!! Some women's ideal marriage too, who knows!! Different strokes for different folks. In any case, what kind of nasty miserly Scroogelike babyish character refuses to let his pregnant wife eat? Was this man tortured while growing up and now he's taking it out on his wife? ITS TERRIBLY UNMANLY TO HIT A WOMAN. A real man works on his temper if he knows he has a problem with it. If he cant control his temper, then he should take a walk!! Let him try hitting a western woman- either AA or white- the same way and see how fast they'll deal with him. The one wey never hit sef them dey deal with am how much more an unrepentant batterer. |

onyinye2: Look you were born and raised in the US, you're no better than girls that have never been outside Lagos all their lives. FACT - most of them will make far better wives than you. no pun intended, just the cold hard facts. A man is not the product of where he is born but how he is raised. |
Re: My Husband Slapped Me Twice And Now He's Not Talking To Me by sillyboy(m): 2:56am On Mar 28, 2009 |
@ David. You dont have to be surprised. I am obliged to be responsible for my wife when I have one. . . .even for my gf. But if she relies on me to be fed all the days of her life, then UNICEF should put her name on her list. In the era where women claims to be equal to a man, why should a woman be relying on a man to be fed in the name of marriage. I have always said, A woman who doesnt make at least 70% of my income is not gonna be considered. Talkless of 1 that will depend on me to buy "iru" and "maggie" for her. @ Sauron and Tope. Dont you know that Lucifer is sensible and smart. Women should work. "No food for lazy Woman". . . . . .especially one with a loud mouth that can insult and deserve not to be spoken to for days. |

Thread was meaningful before. Knew if the village bicycle comes, it'd either turn to sex thread or. . . .or God knows what. We have one moderator here. Why can't he lock the thread? You dont have to be surprised. I am obliged to be responsible for my wife when I have one. . . .even for my gf. But if she relies on me to be fed all the days of her life, then UNICEF should put her name on her list. In the era where women claims to be equal to a man, why should a woman be relying on a man to be fed in the name of marriage.I thought UNICEF only provided for black college students. Children and family would help her. There's no reason why any woman should continue to live with a brutal man out of fear of not being able to take care of herself or her children. |

When they told you I was a medical student, you should have come and asked me A college sophomore baby. And if you want to know more, ask me my school hours, when I start and when I get out. And if you do indeed have a life, you'd stop the YIM rumor It's becoming a vogue on NL. But yet, we continue to preach the "only the shutdown button". What a hot mess |
