Check and make sure your system supports such upgrade cos a 2012 Macbook is quite old and if it does, what's the module i.e ddr 2 or 3?

If you have two RAM installed, remove one and see.

One if the RAM is faulty.

I only have one 8G DDR4 ram stick installed in the laptop, though it has 4 slots, and can be expandable to 32gb or 64 as the case maybe.

if you have access to a desktop monitor use a VGA cable to connect to it and reboot to see if it will boot up windows to be sure your lappy screen isn't the culprit.

Yes, the TV automatically shows which of the HDMI ports that's connected or hooked up to any display source. Given the aforementioned scenario, what could possibly be the diagnosis? And any hopes of repair/resolution?

Try the following options

1. Power ON the system and wait for 50 secs for it to get to Windows logon screen, use Fn + F key depending on the function key for external display

2. If the above option doesn’t work, shutdown the system then open the back cover and disconnect the display connector from the motherboard. Reconnect the HDMI to the Tv and power ON the laptop.

Option 2 will definitely work because that’s the only way you can access BIOS on external display without Fn key. Once you are able to access the laptop on your Tv go to device manager - display and roll back the graphics driver.

It is possible your screen needs replacement too.

If the problem persists after 2nd option, take it to a technician to put another screen or revert back for further technical assistance.

Hello House.

Please I've not used my HP folio for over a week. The folio was working smoothly on the last use. However, I tried powering it up 2 days ago, noticed the keyboard backlight keeps blinking. The screen doesn't come on. The keyboard light will keep blinking for over 30 mins till the fan will just start blowing noisily. What could be the issue? How do I fix it?

Some weeks ago Before this happened, it will suddenly go off and show blue screen diagnostics. But whenever I remove and reinstall the battery, it works just fine.

Update: I swapped the ram sticks. It powers on without keyboard light blinking. However, the screen doesn't come on. The capslock key blinks twice, and the fan starts blowing very noisily.

yes,if it were to be in the repair shop, many checks will be carried out to narrow down what could possibly be the problem.e.g using a similar or compatible video card to check, check your laptop screen with a same or compartable laptop to see if the screen will display fine then check video cables as well.infact a lot of check will be carried out to track down the remote cause.Electronic device troubleshooting some times are very complex and require a lot of work to get the device back to life.

most times this devices malfuntion as a result of prolong non servicing or interior cleaning so they require you disassemble them then do a thorogh and complete dusting off using a hand brush or air blower to remove accumulated dust that may have clogged in moveable parts like heat sink or hardware contact or connecting points, remove and insert back a particular sparepart e.t.c
After that you assemble or couple the entire system parts back in most cases the system will heave a sign of relief and return to normal performance. so do that if you can.

One engineer is saying the issue is from processor. What are the odds?

yes very possible,it could be or could not cause system behaviour could be tricky sometimes you think is the processor by the time you start troubleshooting you will be amazed is something else so guessing what it could be won't solve the problem until an engineer check everything that needs to be checked.
