Philosopher1979:

Zidane, sylvian wilted, Tigana yohanne gourcouff. They all played for bordeayx. It's funny.
It's like saying Aston villa ir nottingham forest or Everton should become extinct.
They should find aeab money or any kind of money
Robert Pires too if I’m correct. Our ex coach Gernot Rohr played and coached the club as well

Then NFF should get us a world class coach. If small countries like Benin can afford to pay. What's stoping them. Thieves cool

Gift Orban possible loan transfer from Lyon to Brest may have hit the rocks over his high salary.

The striker does not have an immediate future at Lyon after a difficult first season in Ligue 1.

He has therefore been linked with various clubs recently as he tries to relaunch his career.

Brest, who caused a big stir in France last season and will feature in the UEFA Champions League in the new season, were the latest club linked with the player.

However, it has now been reported they cannot afford to pay the huge salary he commands at Lyon.

The 22-year-old striker shone at Belgian club Gent for Lyon to splash 14 Million Euros in January to give him a contract until June 2028

Just came here to write that it is a eonfer how that Oma Akatugba fellow has managed to be an objectively successful sports journalist with how unprofessional he is.

He allows his bias cloud common sense, and intentionally obfuscates issues where matters concern his interests. This campaign of calumny he has started against Mikel, for basically saying a generally parroted perception in African nations, has once again reminded me of how much of a bottom barrel person he is.

The one he did against Nwabali in a bid to prop up Maduka was vile and nasty, and he has come back again to attack Mikel for no other reason than his refusal to entertain whatever silly questions he planned to ask him in all those his low intelligence interviews.

This is someone that is clearly more interested in his own self importance than the actual job of journalism, which is why I wonder at his ability to make a career out of it.

Not surprising really. Fortune favours the bold and you can't fault Oma for many things, being timid isn't one of them. He's that person who will take an unpopular, sometimes ridiculous position yes stand boldly by it. Also when he gets his emotions out of the way he's quite good at his job.

Like you said his reaction his personal. He's opined publicly severally that his son will prioritise Germany over Nigeria. Don't think he's doing this because of anybody, he's doing this because of his son.

I didn't want to bring in his family into this, but this is exactly what I think.

He is fighting the battles his son will have to fight at some point, ahead of time. Which is ridiculous, because he's doing it all wrong.

He comes off as fiercely anti-Nigerian, one of those self-hating negroes. And his continued attacks on homegrown talents is so uncalled for. Anyway, he should make sure that if Germany never calls up his son, they should not bring what is left of the career to Nigeria, like Mikel said.

There is nothing bold about Oma.

He is a sneaky bastard, that's what he is. He wanted to fight Okoye's battles against Nwabali, but he couldn't come at Nwabali directly since he was clearly exceptional, so, he did it by propping Uzoho to unrealistic levels.

What that did, was open Uzoho to even more ridicule. Anybody that cannot say what he wants with his chest, is cunning, but definitely not bold.

Well I don't know him too well and sometimes his takes can be annoying but no need to send personal abuse his wife's way. Good or bad Oma's made a name for himself it's not easy being a foreign based journalist getting accredited for international airport sporting events.

Yeah he can be dodgy a times. Remember how he almost added to Osimhen's matter with Napoli and the fans by misyarning though he later deleted the video.

I retract my previous comment about his wife. However, it is clear that he is heavily influenced by her, almost to the point of idolizing her. While it's understandable, considering her significant impact on his life, I believe he should find a balance.

Regarding accreditation for international competitions, it's not as challenging as it might seem, much like the course 'Journalism.' Many who pursue that path often lack critical thinking skills.
