He has not played in the league in a while. It's because another defender called Titi was suspended that's why he got a look in... He's going back to d bench next weekend... Nothing special about this Otigba to be honest...

Humility017:

why is the guy still being sidelined?
I think if he was still in the Dutch league he would have been looked into....

Funny logic so we are using one match to judge a players quality, Mikel has consistently shown over his career he's nothing but a dumb ox, leave it at that.

Its a bad loss no doubt but zamalek was always going to be a big ask. They can still get a shot at the confed cup, unless they pull off their own version of Remontada. I still believe in the quality of their players and I am very sad for them.

Mikel is nothing but a dumb Ox. People like you baffle me. You do not even know about the match Mikel excelled in against Spain. You can not even Google and find the list of midfielders Mikel started against but found it easy to call Mikel a dumb Ox. Amazing.

I wonder what you know about Mikel’s career.

It is funny because Mikel’s performance in the Confederations Cup against Spain is very popular, Viral and common. I have the video I downloaded from YouTube on my phone and watch it regularly. There was a point Mikel lobbed the ball expertly over Xavi.

Calling Mikel dumb and acting as if you know his whole career does not speak good of you when you do not even know something as basic as Mikel in the Confeds.

Zambia were crowned 2017 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) champions after beating Senegal 2-0 at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka on Sunday evening.

Senegal dominated possession in the opening stages of the game and Zambian shot-stopper Mangani Banda was the busier of the two goalkeepers in the first 10 minutes of the game.

However, Zambia grew in confidence as the game progressed and they took the lead through Patson Daka, who scored from close range to make it 1-0 to the Young Chipolopolo in the 17th minute.

The Young Lions of Teranga had a chance to equalize from a free-kick in a promising area on the hour-mark, but Ibrahima Niane placed his effort over the crossbar without troubling keeper Banda.

It was soon 2-0 to Zambia against the run of play in the 37th minute when Edward Chilufya scored following a mistake in the Senegal defence with keeper Lamine Sarr to blame.

Nevertheless, Zambia were leading 2-0 during the half-time break thanks to two goals from Daka and Chilufya, who had both netted their fourth goals of the tournament in the first-half.

The Young Chipolopolo began the second-half lively with Enock Mwepu forcing Senegal keeper Sarr into a good save following a Zambia corner-kick five minutes into the second-half.

The Young Lions of Teranga then took control of the game - pushing more men forward with their targetman Aliou Badji keeping the Young Chipolopolo defence with his power and pace.

The striker unleashed a powerful shot in the 63rd minute from outside the Zambia box, but keeper Banda was equal to the task pulling off a decent save to deny the lanky forward.

With his side struggling to penetrate the Zambia defence, Senegal coach Joseph Koto introduced France-based striker Dominique Edouard Miquilan in the 75th minute.

However, Man of the Match Banda and his Young Chipolopolo defence stood firm at the back in the remaining minutes and Zambia emerged 2-0 winners on the night.

Katlego Mohamme's own goal and Naby Bangoura's penalty ensured Guinea finished third at the 2017 U20 Africa Cup of Nations after beating South Africa 2-1 at the National Heroes Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Amajita's only goal came through Liam Jordan in the first half as they bagged the fourth spot at the tournament in Zambia.

As early as the first minute, Amajita dictated the terms as Kobamelo Kodisang nearly opened the scoreline only to see his shot saved by goalkeeper Moussa Camara.

However, in the fifth minute the South Africans broke the deadlock through Jordan who showed great composure in the box when he was set up from the midfield.

Despite their lead, Thabo Senong's men conceded a silly own goal two minutes later when Mohamme tried to header back his keeper, Sanele Tshabalala, who did not anticipate the pass and it easily beat him handing Guinea a goal, 1-1.

The Junior Syli Nationale combined well in the middle fo the park in Amajita's half, but Morlaye Sylla failed to hit the target from a well drilled shot in the 29th minute.

In the 38th minute, Itumeleng Shopane was set up by Grant Margeman, but the Kaizer Chiefs striker was denied by Camara from close range.

It was 1-1 at the break.
With less than 30 minutes to go, Tshabalala produced a fine save to deny the Guinean forward in the 63rd minute from a distance.

Alseny Soumah came close to bagging the lead in the 69th minute when he found himself unmarked in the box, but his effort went wide of the target.

With seven minutes to go, Tercious Malepe committed a foul in the box and striker Bangoura converted from the penalty spot to make it 2-1 to Guinea.

Amajita wasted a beautiful chance when Thendo Mukumela's free header sailed over the cross bar in the injury time as the South Africans finish at number four.
South Africa: (1) 1 (Jordan 5')
Guinea: (1) 2 (Mohamme 7' og, Bngoura 85' pen)

As Colin put it, there is no guarantee a player is better than the other unless they are closely monitored.

I think, this is the true cry of most NPFL lovers. They want the home based players given their fair opportunity. A good case was when Siasia carried out a screening process and dumped the NPFL players when the Foreign pros hit camp. Carry out a fair trial, closely monitor them and pick the best. Not the foreign based pro getting an automatic preference.

Zamalek 4-1 Enugu Rangers: Ohawuchi inspires Flying Antelopes’ demolition

The Nigerian was in fine form in front of goal as the Egyptian side secured a dominant victory at the Cairo International Stadium
Stanley Ohawuchi found the back of the net as Zamalek swept aside Nigeria champions, Enugu Rangers in the Round of 32 first leg Caf Champions League encounter on Sunday.

The 26-year-old put the White Knights in the eight minute to put Mohammed Helmy’s side ahead against the Nigerian champions, after connect well Osama Ibrahim’s corner kick.

Imama Amakapabo’s men had failed to win any of their previous two games and struggled to make the most of some half-chances against a dogged Zamalek defence, as debutant Hossam Paulo scored the host’s second goal in the 22nd minute.

Mohammed Ibrahim floated a perfect pass into the feet of Ayman Hefny, who took his time before tapping the ball home at the far post.

A shell-shocked Flying Antelopes soon found themselves out of the game as Mostafa Fathi powered in his penalty kick past goalkeeper Itodo Akor .

Bobby Clement’s strike on 82 minutes gave Enugu Rangers the slenderest of lifelines, but the Egyptians held firm to secure a massive home victory.

The second leg holds at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium – with Amapakabo’s men needing to score three unreplied goals to reach the group stage of the money-spinning competition.
