@Shiloh, you are most welcome, God bless you too. @Udoka, I'l search for the book you mentioned "God ia Waiting" i havent heard of it before. Well technically, i havent started treatment for the "low Progesterone". This is 2nd miscarriage in a row and My Dr thinks there might even be something else other than the Low Progesterone causing it, My next appointment with my Dr is on Tuesday and that's when i'll the really comprehensive testing he says i have to undergo. So he wants me to do all the testing and then see what we are up against before deciding how to start treatment. Apparently, out here they dont do vigorous testing on you untill you have had 3 miscarriages in a row. But thankfully i have a Dr who thinks it doesnt make sense to wait for a 3rd one just incase there is an underlying problem causing the miscarriages. My prayer is that all the test reults will be normal and all i have to worry about will be Low Progesterone. @Slimphemmie, Ur right, the day i bought that book i wasnt able to do anyother thing untill i finished reading it. It so practical. |

@Hebrewwoman. Have u considered 'Incompetent Cervix'? My Elder sister had 3 mcs in the uk b4 they checked and saw it was IC that made her lose her pregnancies. For the last one, they began weekly monitoring saying she's high risk. As soon as the Cervix began to open, they stitched her up! As for me!As soon as I carry dis belle wey I take Torch-Light find so, I go treat am like high risk and will request to be monitored for that! But I pray that you will never record another loss IJN! Amen! |

Don't mind me oo, reading these books help me stay sane in this tryn period, or else our enemies will die befor their time. Rockqueen Can u set the floor rolling Afamdman Try and modify d post. uwani: @ mrskemi09, I was also diagnosed with pcos last year and was placed only metformin for 2 months, then clomid and metformin from the third month, metformin will help u lose weight (i lost 15kg while taking it and working out)and also make you ovulate. Above all you have to be prayerful then try and again try to relax. I am presently 4 mnths pregnant (took metformin and duphaston (progesteron)till the end of my first trimester). Baby dust to you all I think Udoka meant a ™ chat group for 'weight loss', not a replacement for this thread |

My pre-eclmapsia story3 So my mind was a bit rested since the doctors said she is fine and baby was doing okay. Cool shey, for where. The leg swelling was not over ohhh, now it came out more, even after my night duty massaging and leg prop, no way even put the pillow under mattress. When she wakes up takes her bath with the space of like 40 mins the leg has started swelling again talk more of carrying that leg to work the whole day, it was a nightmare sometimes she had to leave her desk, go to the ladies room and cry a bit. She always propped her feet in the office as best as she could and since its a working environment slippers were not allowed, so the feet would swell in her shoes. Sometimes I get home to meet her crying, it was heart wrenching for me, but nothing I could do in my power but to say sorry and massage as best as I could. now that's when I started researching online ways to ease swelling of feet during preg saw all sorts tried the ones I could, including reducing salt, still nothing till a climatic sunday morning. We got ready for church, got to church where wifey wasn't feeling herself at all she barely made it through the sermon, but immediately after the sermon she went to the car. I stayed back and did the socializing a bit. By the time I got to the car all she said was hospital, mind you we had not reached the 2weeks that the doctors said for us to check back. I took her to my mums place first since a nurse was there so her bp was checked it read a strange 170/110 that's when the worry frown showed up on my face. I knew it was hospital straight. We stay in festac and our hospital was on allen, that's because of the HMO she signed @ work. We got there and this male doctor started with us, but he pissed me off a bit, cos he wasn't telling use anything, even when we tried explaining our history to him. The next thing I knew was she admitted and series of test and a word started coming to me. A dangerous word called pre-eclmapsia. I didn't know what it meant but thanks to google I started my research. Hmmm my people fear grip me. Pre-eclmapsia is situation brought on by pregnancy where the woman has high blood pressure (PIH pregnancy induced hypertension) that on its own is a case but mixed with having protein in your urine, then you have pre eclmapsia. Could be mild or severe. In the mild case where your average bp reading is 140/90, with protein reading of (1) + while the severe bp reading of 150/100 and above with protein reading of (3) +++ and above. Hmmm as I read, my eye begin clear. I now read of when you get to the eclmapsia stages, what happens, how you can get a seizure, have organ failure and could even die if you don't get help quick. Hmmmm and worst of all, through time with all the health break through man has made, no break through had been made on pre-eclampsia. The only sure solution was delivery of the baby. Haaa deliver my 21week baby. I started to shiver, say God where are you ohhh come to my rescue. All this I researched. By the morning the doctors game and since it was our first pregnancy they decided they would do all they could to help deliver to us a safe baby. They now prescribed a 10week bed rest for wifey. I said 10weeks these guys must be joking. They said let them see how they could deliver the baby by 31weeks and put the baby in an incubator. I had no worry about their ability because, we had encountered a family friend in the same hospital at the same time where they were looking after her baby she had EMCS (emergency CS) at 7 months. But the 10weeks didn't sit pretty with me at all. I was praying that they would release us in a week or 2 weeks max, remember wifey works in a bank at that. |

So they started treatment and increased her aldomet to 1gram and added Nifedipine 20mg at the end of the week but her bp reading was erratic, up and down it was discovered that it was the drugs that forced the bp down so when the drugs wear off the bp would rise again. On top of that the HMO people started giving us heat cause of the bills. How comes its easy for them to collect money but when its time for them to help, they always come up with excuses. Wifey and I have decided we would deal with them when we finish our ordeal. We had spent 9days in the hospital, So because of the HMO stuff and her erratic bp reading the doctors felt they had to refer us to a teaching hospital. Fear gripped me again. |

From amazing pregnancy dot com, babyhopes and bellybelly Cervical mucus is a natural secretion of the cervical glands designed to moisten and protect the cervix. The nature of the discharge changes with the various phases of your menstrual cycle. As with most reproductive functions, hormone levels cause the changes in cervical mucus. As the menstrual cycles progresses, the ovaries increases the amount of estrogen released. The estrogen not only directs the mucus to change the nature of its make-up, it also creates changes in the cervix to make conception a possibility. So, How Do You Observe Cervical Mucus? There are three ways you can do this, depending on what you are most comfortable with. Toilet Paper – By observing mucus found after wiping Externally – With your fingers, feeling for mucus around the opening of your vagina Internally – Checking mucus from the cervix by inserting two fingers (index and third finger) into your vagina and gently sweeping the cervix Once you have some mucus on your fingers, between your thumb and index finger, press them together and stretch the mucus – take note of what the mucus does. Does it stretch? Does it stay in shape and is tacky? Is it slippery? Is it clear, yellow or cloudy? TYPES Infertile After your period, you may find that you have a few days with no mucus (dry). Any mucus that is seen at this time is infertile. If you do find mucus, it will likely be sticky and may come out as a blob. Words women use to describe their infertile mucus at this time include: Thick Dense Sticky Flaky Tacky Infertile mucus feels more dry to touch than fertile mucus. It may be yellow, white or opaque. Upon observation by touch between your thumb and index finger, you will find that it does not stretch or move – it is quite thick. |
Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by Nobody: 7:10pm On Apr 21, 2012 |
Possibly Infertile or Slightly Fertile Following infertile mucus, you may then experience possibly infertile or slightly fertile mucus. Mucus in this state responds to increasing levels of oestrogen and is usually sticky and may feel damp. There is only a slight chance of conception – sperm will find this form of mucus particularly hard to swim through. Words women use to describe their infertile mucus at this time include: Creamy Pasty Thick Cloudy Sticky Flaky Tacky Possibly Infertile or Slightly Fertile mucus still feels more dry to touch than fertile mucus. It may be yellow, white or opaque. Upon observation by touch between your thumb and index finger, you will find that it does not stretch or move much but it may be damper or in more quantity. |
Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by Nobody: 7:12pm On Apr 21, 2012 |
Fertile Fertile mucus usually signals the impending arrival of ovulation and if you are hoping to avoid conception, you must avoid unprotected intercourse at this time. Your mucus may change to a more watery state and feel more slippery. You may find this mucus is more abundant than the previous forms of mucus. Words women use to describe their fertile mucus include: Wet Slippery Watery Clear Thin Fluid Fertile mucus feels wet and slippery compared to infertile mucus. It’s likely to be clear mucus or have a cloudy/white colour to it. Fertile mucus will even smell sweeter (and apparently taste sweeter) than less fertile mucus which may have a more vinegar scent, however the most important observation to make is the wetness/slippery observation. DISCLAIMER-This taste thing,na the website oo,i cannot fathom why a human being would want to taste CM |
Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by Nobody: 7:14pm On Apr 21, 2012 |
Highly Fertile This time is the most likely time to find what is commonly known as EWCM (egg-white cervical mucus) or spinn (short for spinnbarkeit which is german for spiderweb). EWCM is ‘stringy’ hence coming from the word spiderweb. It may appear as a glob, or in smaller amounts in more watery mucus. Not all women experience this form of mucus so don’t be alarmed if you don’t notice any EWCM. Some women swear by Evening Primrose Oil to increase their levels of EWCM, however see a naturopath and they can suggest an appropriate dosage for you. If you were to stretch EWCM between your thumb and index finger, you may notice it stretches, unlike the infertile mucus which keeps it’s shape. You can see why this form of mucus favours sperm – it has a consistency similar to sperm and creates an ideal environment for them to reach the egg. Post Ovulation Following ovulation, you may find that the mucus may quickly return to the thick, tacky mucus or you may have none at all, leading up to your period. Some women experience a glob of mucus prior to getting their period, which is infertile. I could put up pictures but they are disturbing to me,but if you guys can stomach globs of CM,fine..just give the go ahead |

@all. This is the thread for those of us who want to gain/lose weight (Though I suspect more ladies wanna do the latter)! Its a free for all thread...as in we'll encourage each other, discuss meal plans, exercise regimen, and report our weekly progress. Y'all know that I am not a fan of exercise, so someone else will have to ginger us up in that aspect...am very good at dieting when am motivated to do so. I can therefore be involved in encouraging ladies to keep at it..or suggest alternatives to make it easier and more fun! @udoka, I opted for a thread on NL, so that we are not too far from our family in this forum..Do u still want the bbm group? UPDATE: pls see link below https://www.nairaland.com/920221/weight-loss-gain-ladies-trying#10650397 |

ebony Please pardon my post as i have re-read and realised that you may have thought i was refering to you sans the doctor bit and i felt bad/guilty.Actually,if you go back some pages you'd see where udoka mentioned her doctor did not call her back for more tests after medication.I shouldn't still have refered to it though as it may have come across as criticism. I don't intend to cause any offence but i see how i could have,I apologise and will take down the post immediately.. |

Udoka, lol,you and that doc sef .He probably wanted ozugbo ozugbo results I already deleted it.... I will try to write something else or rephrase when i have the energy to and probably focus on the prolactin issue since it's what i am suffering from Nolla, What is your prolactin level and what caused him to place you on it? I'm very happy to have a bromocriptine taking partner since Udoka refused to join me .Lucky for me,the ladies here warned me about the side effects I have been taking the same dose as you but i take it WITH DINNER AT BEDTIME....eating as you are about to go to bed is wrong but it's TTc,lol.I feel the food delays the rate at which the medication enters your blood stream therefore less side effects.. I don't know about taking with milk oo.. WELCOME TO THE CLUB THOUGH,I AM VERY VERY PLEASED WE ARE NOW TWO .I hope we recruit more members |

Oh dear!Nolla, Did you take it with food? i have no major side effects..If the thing too bad them get dostinex,na bromocriptine brother. I started taking the medication small small ie 1 point 25mg at night for like 3 nights for my body to get acclimatised to it then increased to 2 point 5mg.Why don't you split the medicine in half and take one in the morning with food and one at night with food. Sorry oo!! |

I was banned as usual,i'm getting tired of this thing. Nolla, sorry you are suffering like this ooo,e no do me at all but some ladies on this thread e do them like this.Pele my sister o! You could split the tabs in two and take half in the morning with food and half at night with food.. That's the way i did it cos i think it is too strong to be taken like that..even the manufacturer advised to take in small doses then increase slowly in order to circumvent the side effects. If e too hard, dem fit switch to d ostinex but the thing go cost shaa.. Sorryyyy |

@RocksQueen, to be honest i have not really considered anythng because i had already been diagnosed with PCOS which on its own gves you a slightly higher risk of miscarriage and then Low progesterone. Am just waiting for the testing to begin, cos i need to get it over with. But i dont think its Incompetent cervix tho cos of how early the miscarriages occured. Most miscarriages that happen cos of incompetent cervix occur in the 2nd or early 3rd trimester. At how many weeks was your sister miscarrying? Both of mine were at about 9weeks. Yea, you can definitely ask your Dr to keep an eye on your cervix when you get pregnant but most Drs do not stitch your cervix until early 2nd trimester i believe. |
