@segba,
u re good to go joor,

hope it is a new CAS u re using, that shows tuition fee fully paid.
make a transaction a day before u print out the bank statement, to aviod closing balance issue

2.5m, in your bank account, which i believe is the same name on your passport and cas, u re more than good to go, jare

currently with the way britain is, it is really tough, so prepare your mind that u might be returning to naija after your study, and secondly, make sure u bring enough money here, cos, u will be lucky to get a job.

immigration laws are changing, and if u want to come in as a student, u ve to apply as soon as possble,
no miracle again for england, come april 2011, they might even scrap post study work visa,
the reality is, it is tough

all the best in your future endavour

thanks jare,
how is life over there?
I beleive with God on our side we are going to make it. Amen. are you enjoying the weather?

Secondly d last transaction i made was july so dis is actually more dan d 28 workin days, hope i wont av problem wit it and wat is d meanin of 'closing balance issue'?
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by Xorcyst(m): 6:56am On Nov 30, 2010
@dammiac

when u mean visa letter is that ur CAS? n then if youve had funds since july, make a little transaction on the acct before you apply.
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by Nobody: 8:55am On Nov 30, 2010
Yea, its my CAS. D school is resuming jan 7, if i make any transaction hope its nt gonna affect d 28 days and am i good 2 go?
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by Xorcyst(m): 10:02am On Nov 30, 2010
@ dammiac
just pay in a lil money into the acct, even if its 1000 naira so that the end dat on the transaction will b that day showing that btw ur last transaction in july n present the balance is still equal to or above the required amount.
uv got your CAS and the documents on the CAS should be presented to the BHC. jan 7th? that means you gotta apply soonest. just cross ur teez n dot your eyez.

@forum: kindly chip in anything ive missed out

God bless you richly!

I think I have to look for school that have February resumption date because I don't want to put my application in tight corner,

Please house, anybody who knows college in uk that take new students in February should pls post it here,

I will expecting your post regarding this.

Thank you all!
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by dayo1401: 11:51am On Nov 30, 2010
@dammiac,

hope the OND, AND TOEFL AD WAEC CERT, are all the documents u used in obtaining ur admission offer as shown in ur CAS
u didnt mention ur sch fees, has it been paid fully, or in part,
if yes, hope the amount u paid, has is shown correctly on ur CAS,

9000POUNDS in ur account, even more than the required 7,200 or 5,400 for maintanance, excellent, if it has been since july
what they mean by closing balance is that, a recent dated transaction , confiriming the money is stil there at not orj anuary when u want to apply,

it very simple, if u want to submit ur application tomorw, simply walk into ur bank, and pay in 500naira, into that account, and then u can request ur statement of account, from july till date,
the next day u collect ur statement, which shows when the money was lodge in, july, and anoda trasaction which was made just a day before, still confirming the funds

when u print ur acc statement, just for errors, like balance, errors like acc name just go through it to be sure, and make sure it is stamped by the bank

BUT LIKE I SAID, U DIDNT TELL US ABOUT UR SCH FEES, ?
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by Nobody: 8:17pm On Nov 30, 2010
I paid my school fee in full and accomodation. So u mean if i shld pay in like 200 pounds nextweek before i submit my application 2 BHC it wont affect d 28 days dey talked about? Thx 4 replyin me xorcyst
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by Xorcyst(m): 8:48pm On Nov 30, 2010
@ dammiac. Is your acct statement in GBP or naira? Since u have paid everything elsa 9000 gbp will cover. Jus make a little deposit. It won't hurt make sure ur documents are on point. All d best
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by dayo1401: 8:51pm On Nov 30, 2010
when they say 28day, they mean, the money should be in ur account, and not dropp for 28 days, it doesnt mean that it cant increase, or u shouldnt perform any transaction or use that account any longer,

it makes more sense to perform transactions on that account, since its ur personal account, by depositing money into ur account doesnt affect the money since it increases it, all they want is that the fund is shown there,
hope u get the point, wish i had the link of the tier4 maintenance guide i would ve pasted it

u can pay in even as low as 5naira, just do a transaction, since its like u ve not used the account since july

@lolatom
almost all bank in naija, ve provision for payment sch fees abroad, if u dont ve a domicillairy account,
u can work into ur bank and ask

i used a reputable bureau de change and air ticket agent in ikeja lagos, called airchoice, they money got transfered within 4 hours,
am not advertising cos i dont know them personally, but i transfered about 9kpounds, when i was in naija, and bought my ticket with them, not the first time though, they re just on opebi link bridge from oregun, they sell tickets, its air choice travel agency before chicken republic or so,
they ve an office in london, that actualy does the payment, so its nt a transfer, they just collect the pounds value from u, and call thier office to credit ur sch's account with ur information,

other big travel agency might be doing it also,

better stil, u can also use, visa agents, like pfl, bcie and the rest, but u might ve to pay agency fee i think
all da best

Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by ell77(f): 9:41pm On Dec 03, 2010
Wow.

I remember when this page was thread was merely a few pages, now it looks like a book!

Firstly, I must apologise profusely for my absence on Nairaland, I have been battling my own Master's degree and got married whilst helping some students here in the UK who have finished their Bachelor's degrees into jobs. I am glad that so many of you have still kept up this thread and in the spirit of brother(sister)hood have done so with out personal gain.

I applaud you all.

I must give my own warnings as a concerned sister at the difficulty in finding careers here in the UK for some students. The average graduate should expect it to take up to six months to find a career (a role that actually fits their skills and experience), however exceptional students should find their careers in less time than this.

The economic downturn has not been favourable to a lot of Nigerian students here and the governments increasing bias/hesitance towards immigrants seems to have compounded this. Unfortunately, my colleagues on the other side of the pond (USA), seem to iterate the same thoughts. I will be holding application workshops and SHL tutorials from the 15th of December for those who are already in the UK. Unfortunately, I know a lot of the graduate schemes are closing around this time and some have closed already but hopefully those that come will recognise there is always a way and use this to their advantage.

The classes will be free of charge.

I have also made a number of industry contacts to take on people for work experience to boost their chances of getting a job and I hope to make more connections based on the preferences of the participants.

If you are interested please email ellaoku@gmail.com with the subject PROGRESS WORKSHOP.

I am not really focussing so much on getting Nigerian students to come to the UK any more (my website is down) as there is a real need, I believe, to make sure for those who intend to stay that they have something worth coming to first.

All the best in you applications!

Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by dayo1401: 10:43pm On Dec 03, 2010
@ lolatom, well, u might be able to do that, but it is not advisable,

hw re u sure u wil get ur cas on time? some sch takes 2 - 3 weeks, some days, i got mine within 3days, or so

might b worth tryin, but its a risk, which i think i might be worth it, because come april 2011, immigration law is changing, and it wud affect students,
depends on the course u intend to study, if it is below degree, u had better hurry up, if it is degree and above, then the changes might not really affect u, but bear in mind, that there wil be a shake up, come april 2011 in uk immigration law

all in all, u can give it a gamble, but make sure the statement closing date date is is not more than one month prior to the date of ur submission, infact i wud suggest 2 weeks, to reduce suspision

if u want to transfer ur fund via air chioce, make sure u go in the morn, like 8am, so by 12noon, the funds has been deposited in ur sch account, and the sch can confirm it the next day, and start processing ur cas

all da best
