CAMEROONPRIDE: we already have a bad image no need to add more cry cry

Besides with all the billionaires we have on this continent we do not even have a single news channel with reach of aljazeera or cnn to project highlight the achievements of this continent and sway people's views about africa in general. When you get into african homes, you'd see peeps watching CNN, BBC, france24, msnbc, foxnews newly aljazeera and CCTV news.

As you can clearly see, the americans are covered, the europeans are also covered, the chinese same, even the arabs. Yet africans want favourable media coverage. Hahaha "na today".

I watch SABC-Africa which is a african current affairs channel on DSTV and it paints a total different story about the continent where issues are covered like less famine, rising income levels, growing infrastructure investments and improvements in literacy especially from girl child education. But the problem is good news never attracts sensation only africans dying on the streets do, they never show us how people are getting gunned down in Chicago or in poverty stricken areas in France where african immigrants face daily harassment by french security forcesangry

and that every one are starving? The never show bad places like downtown detroit which are ruins in their own documentary! Fuc..k the Us, fuc.k the west, no wander the Arabs hate them like crab.

We had a Danish exchange student who lived with us for 1year some time back, and when we went to fetch him from OR Thambo airport he couldn't believe that an african airport is almost twice the size of the Copenhagen airport, then to further ad insult he asked us where is the animals in our neighborhood because all he saw was buildings trees on the pavement on the side on our roads. I almost slapped the Pink of his face.grin

what you all are saying is what i have talked about ones before on several forums or fora (if there is any word as such). But the problem i have come to encounter is that, when you try to raise this issue, you will find that it is even africans that will come up and shout you down! They do this becos, they feel it is going to make people stop giving aid. This also means there willl be no money for them to embezzel.

@snydergp there is this case that gappened in Lagos. He was interviewed on radio. This american came here to train basketballers in Lagos. During the interview, he said when he came here, he was surprised that africa has mordern cars and flyover bridges. He said he use to think of africa as a safari place where you just come and see animals.

i strongly believe that if we work together, mobilize african Netizens we can instigate change, with the way the west have made us look in the eyes of the world ! If we could pull the right strings, send emails to right people, start online anti-racist campaign we can make a change and send a strong message to those western psychopaths! I suggest we create a tread and send it to front page to begin

To fault. There is this beife among south africans. Only we can complian about south africa. If you sit in real sillent in a SA bar you will hear all these problems (crime, corruption, incoptent leaders, poor infustructer extra) but if a forghiner complians he will get torn apart because he is either soft rich kid from some 1st world country or he is frome some dirt pile and should not complian and be happy he is in SA.

Namacurra habor patrol boat is used to patrol harbors of SA and by OBD(Marrines) has a patrol boat. They where active in burrinde.

Speed is over 30knots
Crew is 4 minim and optmal 5 armend with one 12.7mm and one 7.62mm machin guns. Crew is armend with R5 carbins and 9mm plus one shotgun(for if they rcover prisoners. One shot can stop a rush) and scare charges for killing divers.

Deacal radar, GPS, fishfinder(works has a diver finder) and full set of comms makes the rest of the boat.

They are incredbly agil boat able to pull 360(yes 360 not just 180) degree turns at full speed.

They come in at under 5tons and can be transport ove land, by air and can be carried by SAS draksberg.

Both nambia and mozibique each have 2. SA has over 20.

The xena river patrol boat

Basicaly the same set up has a namcurra with 4 big difrences
1 water jets means no pros so it can operta in even shalower water
2 much greater range at 12 hours at 15knots
3 larger carry capacty with space for 6 marines or cargo
4 not has agile but still can go over 30 knots

SAN has around 15 all with the MRS(marins) they can be moved over road, air and by sea but have yet to be used in a deployment. They painted white since they ment for peace keeping missions.
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 3:38pm On Mar 13, 2013

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T_Craft-class_inshore_patrol_vessel

SAN has 3 of these T craft. They classed has IPV but where built has air sea reascue launches. But they no longer needed in that role. Though unarmend they can carry one 12.7mm(some say it can carry a 20mm but in the DRC they had 12.7mm) and two 7.62mm machin guns. Crew of 15 it has a 7 day endurance and carrys a RIB. It has radar, echo sounder, GPS, commons and water jet engiens.

3 where sold to isreal.

They will be replaced(or complemted) by projected biro IPVs.

Yeah, RIGHT. It can do 360 decreases at top speed. Can't it also do somersaults, I guess the only thing left, is for the boat to represent SA at the olympics (gymnastic events). Great competition for the russians and chinese in RIO 2014.

They are okay, but I'm not impressed. I've seen better.

If you want you can come through to simmons town on between the 5 to 7 of aprill for the SA navy open day. They do the 180 degree turn.

The 360 turn is called a figure of 8 turn. It servis no milltary purpose but is still is a neat trick.

You correct they not the best patrol boats in the world. But for what there mission is there is nothing that beats them in africa. Rember they not war ships they built to protected harbous and water ways against covert, light attacks and costbillrie duties. Where stragic mobilty (they can be transport by road, air or sea) tactical mobilty (high speed, agil, shallow draft) are the most imported. We not iran and have no plan to use speed boats to attack warships.

SAAF and SAN requested its defense manufacturing wing DENEL DYNAMICS in the late 1990's to develope a tactical drone for target acquisition and DENEL came up with a redesigned drone which is called the SKUA Target Drone.

The drone uses a solid fuel rocket booster which gives it a cruise speed up to Mach 0,85 to 1,00.

Now if there's any other african military with such indigenous technological capabilities I would love to see one, maybe in 8-10 years such target drones would be in use by more african nationgrin.

Now though this is a small step it just shows how far military tech has grown on the continent.

The Umbani (DPGM) is one of a series of SANDF's missiles in service and also exported to a number of countries.

Now to those who doubt what the outcome would be if there's a war between SA and other country, this is what we build in SA one of the best modern indigenous PGM's in the world.

Now SA uses both the UMBANI PGM (1st two pics) and the GBU-12 Paveway II (last)
