patches689:Can't believe this, we have L-39, Alpha Jets, MB339, F7, mi-35 helicopters, mi-17, ATR 42, 3 Frigates, OPVs, several fast Attack craft, almost 50 IPVs, landing ships and several other vessel that your navy don't even have. Nigeria should be the one talking of attacking South Africa. And these are just some things u claim not to know. Can u even prove that u have upto 14 pilot for ur Gripens. I believe u have also upgraded your hawk to 4.5 generation figther nonsense. |

iblawi: Alphas are all absolete they can't even be compared to our old Cheetah's. Mi helos are not dedicated AH helos like the Rooivalk that is in the class of the Apache. The NA has less then 3 operational F-7's. Atleast one F-7 crashes in Nigeria every year. 6 Gripens and 4 Hawks is all we need to take out all Nigeria's radar and air defenses. Guy the hawks are lead in fighter trainers and interceptors not 4.5gen frontline fighter like the Gripen. What 3 Frigates are you talking about show us, and please don't talk about Grand Pappa Aradu or your other second hand 60 year old cold war USN-Hammilton coast guard cutter donated aka NNS Thunder. Nigeria don't even have a single naval supply ship to help sustain a single convoy of ships if they in there dreams try and launch a attack on SA. Your OPV's has no single missile. Your Navy can't even protect Nigeria's small 800km coastline that is today the worlds largest pirate hotspot. SA has 3X larger coastline then Nigeria and 10X larger shipping route yet we have no pirates in SA controlled waters. Please man be real. 1 Like |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Nobody: 9:22am On Aug 17, 2015 |
iblawi: This list is not even accurate even your beloved Beeagle tells us your Aradu is in dry dock for almost 7years now. 90% of all the ships you listed are not even Blue water ships nor are they fitted with missiles not even your downgraded Chinese P18N class OPV's has any active missile systems integrated currently. "Westland LynxAnti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) helicopter United Kingdom(3)inactive The Nigerian Navy is interested in acquiring former American CH-46 Sea Knight and SH-2 Seasprite helicopters". Hahahahah I like this one Nigeria once again going for decommissioned old retired US helicopters. Come back to us when you have a actual Navy capable of being able to actually fight a naval war 5000NMi away from your polluted Delta creeks. 1 Like |

iblawi: Dem say we no get planes and we no get pilots, yet ThisDay Newspaper's article on NAF's SITREP paints a picture of our air capabilities and abundance of pilots who can do us proud with the dozens of F7s at Markurdi. Emphasis is "dozens". When SA wants to taste the wrath of a gentle giant we'll be waiting! We work hard and stay humble! Cheers!

Henry120: - Frigates are modern. Far more modern than anything in your fleet. - Olifant Mk2 is amongst the most modern in the continet. - because we are developing our own BvR - subs are amongst the most modern subs in the world. They can charge while submerged (what is snorkeling?) - Starstreak is the most advancedMANPAD on the continent (probably in the world), CRAM upgrade will render our AAA to be the most advanced in Africa, when GBADS project ends Uhmkonto will be an exellent platform. We also have one of the most comprehensive air defence networks in africa - outdated info on infantry age. - 14 grip pilots in 2013, obviously more now. 14 Grip are enough to handle all the threats we have right now. - this lie has been disproven multiple times. We have 5 operational c-130's at any one time. - rooivalk is one of the most modern attack helicopters on the continent and posseses capabilities NAF could only dream of. Rooivalk do constant NOE flight - O really? So the millions of dollars we have made selling artillery, SAM's, ASM's, turrets, mortars, VLAP munitions, sniper rifles, communications equipment, submarine periscopes etc does not exist? This is just my first pf 3 responses. Wait for the other 2 2 Likes |

I hate when people reason like donkeys. Do you train fighter pilot in 2 years. The newest thing you have in your Navy is 10 years old already. ( your incomplete meko 200, and your sick subs that has been patched and probably the batteries are weak.) Every other thing you have in your Navy is as old as ARADU you call a grand father. You have no air arm in your Navy not to talk of army. When NA already training there first set of helicopter pilot. You will bring ill trained pilot to Nigeria when you know you can't pass Angola. Let's imagine you got to Nigeria how will you fight without well trained pilot when we have more and better trained pilot still proving there skills with what they have. |

Henry120: Counter-point: - Your Frigate (SINGULAR) is OBSOLETE and NON-OPERATIONAL - Your tanks are not modern either - You have ZERO 4th gen patforms. You also have no BVR - You have ZERO subs - Sh1t? What, compared to your handfull of literally OBSOLETE launchers with EXPIRED missiles and some OBSOLETE MANPADS? Your ZERO mobile radar systems? Your ZERO air-space management systems? - Your infantry are terribly and equipped and have terrible training (most only issued a sh1tty Ak47 and 30 rounds of ammunition) - You lack fighters in general, your F-7's crash daily and most are not operational, same applies to your Alpha jets - You only have 3 C-130's that are airworthy in TOTAL - You have obsolete cold-war relics that arent even dedicated attack helicopters - Your Cutters are 60 years old, your other two latest platforms are 40 and 50 years old - You build and export nothing of value. |

Bartitsu:brother I even try to prove to them that they don't have enough to attack us and we won't attack them either but they want to prove what they are not. They can't threaten us and we can't threaten them simple. They are not better than us and we are not better than them. Our focus is different from theirs, and that is why equipment are also different. Finally we both have flaws in airforce and our navies. |

[b]"Denel Dynamics will conduct missile flight tests of its new Marlin missile system in September and November this year ahead of a first guided test flight in November 2016, where it will be demonstrated against a moving target. ... The 80-100 kilometre range Marlin radar-guided air-to-air missile is being developed by Denel Dynamics under an Armscor/Department of Defence technology demonstrator contract. Denel Dynamics will be using a dual pulse rocket motor on the Marlin (this uses two fuel chambers and one exhaust nozzle) for extended range. ... Marlin can also be configured into an all-weather surface-to-air missile. Common subsystems will be used for the different variants of the weapon, with some components derived from the A-Darter and Denel’s Umkhonto surface-to-air missile. ...
