sheyie2007: Wow this is really funny because if the writer of that article new about google he/she would've found that Egypt and SA already had satellites way before 2011. Maybe its just me but last time I checked SA was part of black africa and a African country including Egypt or please tell me does Nigeria have the only right to be called a african nation. Did u know that SA launched a satellite in 1999/2009/2011. http://www.earthzine.org/2010/01/11/sumbandilasat-eo-satelilite-shows-south-africa's-space-mettle/ Did u know that Hartebeesthoek radio and satellite tracking station was invloved in assisting and tracking many unmanned U.S space missions, including the Ranger, Surveyor and Lunar Orbitor spacecraft, which explored the planets Venus and Mars http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hartebeesthoek |

sheyie2007: I've heard this training thing numerous times where certain people here say naija trained ANC members yet history books only states Nigeria was a base for communication in the late 1970's when ANC sent Mbeki build relations with general Obasanjo at that time and the ANC office in Lagos was only operational for 2 years because of Nigeria's own instability at the time. Don't know why people want to distort history to fit there own means. 1 Like |

sheyie2007: What about foreigners in the likes of Nigerians who traffic small girls, r*ape and even force them on drugs. They do not do this in Nigeria because they fear death penalty in their countries. They also contribute to the problem that we already have in SA. |

AfroArab: Both the t72 and t62 export model(or monkey model) are not good. Since both have the same gun it comes down to armour. And neither could stop each other. The Vikers is not a heavy Tank it is a MBT. Both are old and outdated in air deffense. And shooting down a harrier is not a big deal. It is a slow low flying target(has jets go) There is a cobra armed AGM but all reports show you did not get that version. Ethiopia has 31 152 SPH and 21 122 SPH plus a lot of mobile MLRS sytems. No navy since no coast line. Nigerias navy is unable to stope the spread of pirats just of it's coast. A 4th hand SU27 would tear up in J7. The SU27 was built to kill the best air craft in the cold war USAAF the F15 eagel. It is one of the best Aircraft in the world never mind africa. A roland would strugel vs a SU27 and what Cobra SAM. All reports show you got the APC version. All my reports show both of you have got bad EW/ECM. Since when have the Arabs feard nigeria. Source please. What do you mean we have shorteges. We have more heavy wepaons than nigeria and can build more any time. Is it because you think it in storage it not in use. You do know we got a large reserve force and keeping thing in storeg when not in use is common sense. I mean we have 1200 ratel alone. Do some reshearch and yous common dog sense. |

andrewza:nice to hear! But i just found out from a military source that close to 50% of nigerian weapons are not documented! Therefore meaning the are not in the UN WEAPON INVENTORY, that is why nigeria is rated low! I personally have seen, motorized rocket launchers( the type used by brazil and togo) which are not documented in the inventory, a Ranking officer said "nigerian army is not an army of pictures" . The are several weapons undocumented including a soviet built long range Missile system, i had not even know we had(though in a little bad shape), there up to 3 navy warships, undocumented, several many others. I dnt knw nigerian army choose to conceed its military strength, bt its sure must be a military stragedy for element of surprise. |

When they sold it to you they had to report it. Same for SA. I can go online and look at what we sold. Has for unreported wepaons. 1 long rang russian misseils. You mean north korean knock off SCUD SLBM tahat never took place. Your MLRS are listed by janes. The UN dose not do stock takeing of wepaons. So I don't under stand the UN wepaon list. None of our stuff are listed on the UN. People in nigeria think that because they don't see pics there is jhigh secricy. It not true. AfroArab: Where did you get this info from because its full of basic flaws. What is up with this Arab nonsense we are all africans. 1-Nigeria's roland sam's is old and outdated it will not shoot down SU-27/30 unless there is pilot error not to mention Grippen Jas-39's. 2-what few weapons are you talking about because SA has more modern long range artillery systems then any other african country + SA builds there own G6-52 the best howziter in the world. 3-what Russian colonel are u talking about source please ![]() 4-what skys of africa are u talking about no airforce in the world will ever control the sky in africa simply because the airspace is to large. Radar coverage is the only alternative even this can be a daunting task. The F-16's are reaching retirement and is being fazed out in the US and other nations, nolonger the best and the specifications Egypt has is no match in a dog fight against JAS-39's. 5- SA's infantry mobile batteries are best equiped on the continent even Algeria uses SA made systems. Mobile REUTECH infantry radar warning systems, STAR STREAK mobile anti-aircraft, umkhonto anti-missile/anti-aircrft mobile batteries including Rooivalk helicopters are unmatched even by world standards. Numbers means nothing in such conventional war situations its been proven many times in wars the world over. 6- how can nigeria be 2nd best navy when it lacks Blue Water Naval ships. Only Algeria and Egypt can take on SA because they have more ships but not as modern as SAN ships and submarines. Nigeria don't even have any submarines capability currently, and no country in the world can built a credible submarine deterrent within 10 years. I really think you are a big dreamer. ![]() Now this has been the most badly written bull I've seen in the short time I've been on this forum ![]() |

sheyie2007: @Synderp - the made in NIGERIA drone features Now compare that to SANDF's Seeker-400 UAV's that has a defense and attack capabilities not even speaking about Bateleur's all post apartheid built systems including africa's first domestic indigenous built light attack and recon aircraft the ARCHLIC. Nigeria can learn a lot from SA and we can also learn from u, but the fact remains SA is still years ahead in research and development. |
