I am wondering if anyone has seen RCCG's new way of collecting tithes:

Those who are tithing on any Sunday now are called to the alter and receive separate "blessings and prayers" before the general "offerings" are taken.


It begs the question if this is another way to "shame" folks into ponying up the dough because they might not want to be seen sitting all the time during these calls, does anyone find this Biblical?

I just wanted to find out if other "parishes" are doing this.

I don't pay "tithe" as you know it and no amount of "show" will change my mind on that unless God directs me to start giving that way.

I can say I have had reasons to give a day's salary to a "stranger" in the past and don't need to show it in fron of any congregation to make it worth my while.

RCCG has long turned commercial, they have to use every trick in the book to maximize revenues.

They need to maintain their Jet now so more emphasis will be give to that direction.

Their new style stood out because I just started noticing it, we see things for the first time and think it's a one and done occurrence but when it is announced as basically a "directive from the GO" one can only wonder.

Am a deeperlife member but my bros always force me to his redeem church at Heavens Gate parish Idiroko Maryland. What pisses me bout their service is that they take lots of tithes, lots of efizy, show offs and the pastor is a good orator am not making fun or ridiculing him but i think he can make you emply or purse even ur acc in church with new church developments. In My deeperlife church, i secretly attend by lying to my bros that am going to office, we are not forced its free will and as for the tithes, they will just announce and you will be in mood of prayer while droping ur offerings. But in redeem i will say they are redeemed to the purse.

Its quite unfortunate that many people attend churches, but don't read and assimilate the Bible.
I never saw in d Bible where you are forced to give Tithe.

I think people should know that you MUST not be cajoled to give tithe, you have to understand what Tithe is, and why you should give it. But if forced, it losses its meaning. Remember, do not give grudgingly.

I don't think this is an issue to talk about here. God has away of speaking to people. Tithe brethren is very compulsory as far as you are genuinely born again christian. Tithe has it's own bless and curse - Malachi 3: 8-11.

Its amazing how people twitch and squeal when the issue of offering & tithes is brought up. These same people insist that there is no need to either give offering or tithes as it is used to enrich pastors; yet they are happy to go to the same church for their wedding, whenever they have a child they need the church but dont see the need to make any form of contribution. I wish you took some time out thinking before posting this topic.
Its very simple! If you think the Pastor is not worth leading the church you attend as a member, then quit or start your own church!
Stop telling the Pastor what to do cos you did not employ him! maybe you are ignorant of this: you cannot advise God!
On the other hand, if you think your action by not paying your tithe is right, then chill out, sit down and never mind others going forward whenever the Pastor calls for them. The truth is that the Pastor's motive is to encourage others to do same but if you are not convinced to do it then do not cry out foul when others do it. Keep your money to yourself while the church keeps progressing and prospering without your money! RCCG cannot be broke because your money or tithe is not part of the offerings.

Are you sure you are a Deeper Life member? I wonder how you can lie to go to church cos your bros wants you to follow him to his church? I greatly doubt your claim of being a DL member cos of your quick way of passing judgement on others! Please, go and see your Pastor to get you born again. DL members do not judge others neither do they lie in other to come to church!
