excanny:Never heard of an "Umuaro", but there is Aro-Ngwa settlement in ala Ngwa. Their occupation came as a result of Aro-sponsored, Abam invasion on Umuajuju. They killed and raided the area, making some room for some Aro to settle in amongst already established Ngwa. |

@Arysexy, I know all the nooks and crannies of Awka, because I was there from 1989-2000 (Amachalla Amenyi) Pretty close to Aziza's store, Nkwo Market and "Obu Imo Awka". Awka people call me "Nwa Ekwulobia" |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by InkedNerd(f): 12:44am On Oct 07, 2010 |
slap1: I'm from Obazu, Mbieri . Where are you from? Freewilly: I was born in Enugu, but since Ibo culture is patriarchal I'm from Imo State. I'm kinda in the same boat with my dad. He was born and partially raised in the north but is from Imo State. Technically speaking I'm not "fully" Igbo. My grandmother is a Cross River woman which makes my mother half Ibo. I acknowledge both my Cross River and Ibo heritage though. |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by grafikdon: 12:47am On Oct 07, 2010 |
stillwater: Say what? You have no idea what you are missing. A well made vio vio is light years ahead of jolof rice and beans, beans and yam, mamaput rice and beans with stew, ''kanda'' and fried plantain. The only thing that comes close is "Abacha ncha" with "azu mangala" and "afufa" or akpu(Santana) and onugbu soup with azu mangala, snails, okporoko and goat meat. |

Inked_Nerd:There is no ethnic group called Cross River. It could be Ekoi, Legbo, Efik etc. Forget the idea of being fully Igbo or not, your father is Igbo and that makes you Igbo. Be proud of your Igbo heritage. |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by Arysexy(m): 1:06am On Oct 07, 2010 |
@ grafikdon tell her, she is really missing. Even Aiza used vio vio for his wedding and it was history! |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by OgidiBoy(m): 1:17am On Oct 07, 2010 |
grafikdon: @ grafikdon, You are a very wicked man, look at how my mouth is watering right now Nothing like will prepared Igbo food I swear. I need an Igbo wife in my life FAST. |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by InkedNerd(f): 1:27am On Oct 07, 2010 |
Andre Uweh: I know there's no ethnic group called Cross River. My grandmother's English isn't very good so it makes it difficult for me to really pinpoint where she is from. I've been working on trying to figure out exactly where she's from since Igbo isn't her native language. And I am proud of my heritage but I don't like the idea of not really acknowledging my non-Ibo side. |

OgidiBoy: Bro, you better grab one fast! You need one who is real though. By real I mean, the ones who can cook those dishes. You may have to head home if you are not already home, to find that type. They are fast going extinct, thanks to our collective lethargy for our best assets. |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by Nobody: 3:30am On Oct 07, 2010 |
Arysexy: From Umuanaga village, Awka south. How can viovio be your best food? It's just like choosing ordinary beans over party jollofrice. grafikdon: Nothing beats jollof in my world. Is abacha ncha, african salad? |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by Onlytruth(m): 5:26am On Oct 07, 2010 |
stillwater: ngwa nezienu anya! ha! Please no pun intended, are you Igbo? You can only be forgiven if you are not from Igbo land, or if your part of Igbo land is not into abacha. I am yet to meet an Igbo that doesn't know this dish. |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by Onlytruth(m): 5:28am On Oct 07, 2010 |
^^ And to answer your question, it is like asking whether a lion is a cat. Abacha is a superior (by far) form of salad. The only thing that makes it a salad is the anara/afufa + ugba/ ukpaka + azu mangala +. . . raised to power "n" if you are into Mathematics. |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by Nobody: 5:38am On Oct 07, 2010 |
Onlytruth:Lol didn't you say sth aby nigerians in usa not going home to get a woman, a while ago? I thought we were pulling the same guitar string. Yea, yoruba men and their stealing of igbo women from igbo men @post Ekiti state baybay |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by Onlytruth(m): 5:46am On Oct 07, 2010 |
Ileke-IdI: I didn't say he should bring her to the states. I know some folks whose wives are in Nigeria; they visit home to spend 3 months each trip. It can be done, and people are doing it already. As for Yoruba men, they should worry more about us stealing their women. Remember bros Ezeuche? I won't sleep at night if I were a Yoruba man. |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by Nobody: 5:53am On Oct 07, 2010 |
Onlytruth: True that. One of my aunt does thee same thing. But I just dnt get how ppl do it esp when dealing with a nigerian man, guess it all boils down to trust. I rem ezeuche, but what has he stolen? Give me a month to crush his ego and he'll be eating out of my palms. Only a yoruba man can handle this. Ezeuche knows that Yoruba men sleep well. Thatz why they have extra fatty skin around their neck |

Ileke-IdI: I don't understand. You mean they snore? |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by Nobody: 6:08am On Oct 07, 2010 |
Onlytruth:Lol if that makes it easier to understand, then we all shall call it that. Yes, they snore. |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by Onlytruth(m): 6:12am On Oct 07, 2010 |
Ileke-IdI: Isn't that a form of liability? |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by Nobody: 6:15am On Oct 07, 2010 |
Onlytruth:who are you worried for? Igbo women or Yoruba women? We seems to be enjoying the snoring and the perfectly rounded potbelly Cheiii, you have changed. |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by Onlytruth(m): 6:36am On Oct 07, 2010 |
Ileke-IdI: I'm not worried, just puzzled. You know me. I seek truth fiercely. Never knew that any woman enjoyed snoring and potbelly. Now, you know I don't buy that. |
Re: What Part Of Igboland Are You From. by excanny: 7:40am On Oct 07, 2010 |
Ileke-IdI: Folks, pardon my ignorance. Which part of Igbo land is Ekiti State in? It seems i'm missing something. Or do we mean the future Igbo state, Ekiti-Igbo. lol |
