Even Trump as ruthless as he is, he gives notices and follows due process. Even if Bubu wants to close borders, fine, but he should follow due process. ECOWAS has it's laws, rules and regulations on things like this. Bubu as usual, didn't consult anyone and ran to close borders. Be supporting him. Bubu has no plan B for Nigerians trust me. We are still consuming the goods/old stock from these countries...and it will soon be all consumed ..just give it a 1 year. Then Naija own suffer go start proper

you people have always been sayin nigeria will collapse, nigeria will this, nigeria will that for years now....

The rate of killings by Boko boys and Herdsmen have reduced drastically. Our local producers and farmers are smiling gradually,. Our rice is spreading all over the country. The border closure is working for us, no offence to Ghana or any West African country, we can't please u guys to displease ourselves. What Ecowas policy allows u guys to let bandits and weapons invade Nigeria? What Ecowas policy allows the influx of illicit drugs like tramadol, refnol, crack, cocaine etc into the country after which they've pass through ur borders too? This is temporary until all these things are rectified. Ema binu, we just need to put our house in order. Whatever u want to import into Nigeria can sustain u guys, I heard one Guta guy saying they'll divert their exportation to Dubai or something, oya make una do am now, at least una claim say Nigeria will suffer more... Leave us with our fate abeg.

Your deputy trade minister and his entourage have been in Abuja begging, this other deputy minister is in Abuja begging too, can't Ghanaians stop the begging and allow our officials to concentrate on their jobs? Seems it's high time we even ban direct flights from GHANA to Nigeria t stop this incessant disturbance, can't we shut our borders in peace again?

Come to think of it, since the closure of the borders, Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen, and crime has greatly reduced all over the country.
With the incessant crying by Ghanaians, is anyone thinking what I'm thinking as per the supplies of arms to these people? Just thinking aloud though.
did you just say begging

you are funny oo grin grin grin grin

We are telling you that if you dont stop the wanton disregard for the core treaty of ECOWAS, we may have to prevent you from our market and others beyond us.

Quickly, your government want to create a path for Ghanaian products because they know what they stand to loose if they pick a fight with Ghana

Ghana is a major arms manufacturer in the region. It is your problem to make sure, arms does not get into the wrong hands and not our problem.
so you dont get to blame us for your arms problems.

solve your security issues.

If not an insult why will Ghana that is less than 2 states in Nigeria be questioning our decision to close our border. Did we question thier policy of 1m dollar to operate retail business in their country? Where was their government when their touts were molesting our thriving business men for the past 4year?

Their wailing just started, that border will remain closed until 2050. Then next in line is to cut the gas supply to their country, if they think they can harass Nigerians in their country without repercussion, then they better come to reality that Nigeria has been pushed to the wall and the era of father Christmas and big brother is long gone. Nigeria is back to reclaim her glory and her foreign policy now placed Nigeria and Nigerian above other African country, we have learned our lesson with the way SA, that we championed her liberation from apartheid turned against Nigeria residents in SA

There is no need for rush in opening the border, In 1969 \70 Ghana practice Xenophobia against Nigeria by forcefully expelling those in Ghana some have houses ,properties and money conviscated. China closed its border for 8 good years they developed their economy from dumping ground. Even though we are buying local rice for #18-27000 per bag it will soon go down .

Re: Ghana Begs Buhari To Open Closed Border by dc23(m): 10:48am On Nov 02, 2019
Majority of trade between these two countries is actually done by Nigerians. Nigerians bring auto goods to Ghana to sell and also buy cheap products in Ghana to resell in Nigeria so as not to loose value in exchange.

Now ask yourself, who smuggles goods through the designated border when there are lots of unapproved crossings? At the end of the day it's the legitimate ones who suffer, whilst smuggling booms.

Typically, Ghana and Nigeria actually get the bulk of the goods from China and Europe anyways. If Nigeria is really serious about local industry, the sea port might be a good place to shutter.

buhari will never open the boarder, unless you give him a very tangible reason to.
although, i wonder what will happen to nigerian goods when it finally became saturated. but on a second thought, nigeria is a big economy, and i don't think she will need any external consumer for her produce.

Ghana please exercise patience for the madness in Nigeria to run out.

Today, Nigeria chairs ECOWAS meeting, the following day, Nigeria closes its borders against ECOWAS countries.
Nigeria is an abnormal country.

The best policy by Mr president so far is this border closure. This will enable all our criminal Nebors sit up and start doing the right thing in line with international practice...we must learn to patronise our locally manufactured goods...we 've the number to make Nigeria great again...imagine Ghana dumping Olomo bitters in our country while we 've so many drinks of that nature here....they were bold to tell us they are losing 2.5billion dollars since border closed....imagine that.....the worst aspect is that this our Nebors will give licence to Lebanese people to import rice in their country...a rice they don't ear but they will send it to Nigeria because we are a cursed nation that cannot get her priority right...God bless buhari for restoring our lost glory

Why not wait till you see the path or corridor that the Nigerian government will create before jubilating? Waiting for a corridor for Ghanaian goods for 3 months and daily counting after your ministers have made Abuja their home already and begging all over the place, your president is not even excluded from the begging.

@bolded, that's exactly what you've been telling us and that is what we want, act fast like a man and stop disturbing our peace on nairaland about you preventing our goods into your 30 million market

You are lamenting seriously, You never argue with reasons but with emotions. trade issues aren't settle on emotional ground , I have try to educate you on that, Nigeria is a good market for Ghana non traditional goods and likewise other africa state. Ghanaian diplomat engaging their Nigeria counterpart on the border closure is not begging but diplomacy in international trade, i wonder what you guys learn in school. so expect more of it to come. so as the pressure becomes heavy in Nigeria. Nigeria will do the right thing in the interest of the Nigeria legal traders and ecowas as a whole. but let me be frank here, there will be a diffrent news in the next two weeks. bet me. Both nigeria and other ecowas member state including Cameroon are not left out on the burden cause by this non challant direction.

industrialization contribute nothing less than 24 percent of Ghana GDP and Ghana is expecting it to double within a few years. Nigeria will not excape the market ....

Nigeria has been carrying ECOWAS like a new born baby from inception...pls let ECOWAS walk by itself or walk alone. I don't mind any punitive punishment from other countries, they negligible compared to the employment opportunities and growth it would create here.
African govts have been bullshiting OAU and ECOWAS for decades, let ECOWAS even remove us. We should even start naijaxit.
