Ghanaians own too much. Did the border closure affect them more than the rest of the countries.

I thought they were showing muscle before.

Ghana is Anglophone, they depend on Nigeria than others

No country In the world shuts its border to its Neighboring country even USA to Mexico or Porto Rico this policy isn’t favorable in the long run

aside what the foreign minister said, not that the borders are closed without no alternative. There some other alternatives like sea and air border.

Open wetin. They are begging to make Nigeria a dumping ground as they smile to bank and there economy boom while Nigerian economy keep crashing. They have the mind to enact laws that stop Nigerians to participate in retail business and other small scale businesses saying that every Nigerian should invest in million dollars in order to stay in there country while they are enjoying many things from Nigeria. If I was Buhari,I will ban all their products and tell them to relocate into Nigeria and produce them. You can't be benefiting from Nigeria and you are making unfriendly laws against Nigerian citizens in Ghana and even closing there shops.

then something happened....!!

we started fighting back....!!

Even Trump as ruthless as he is, he gives notices and follows due process. Even if Bubu wants to close borders, fine, but he should follow due process. ECOWAS has it's laws, rules and regulations on things like this. Bubu as usual, didn't consult anyone and ran to close borders. Be supporting him. Bubu has no plan B for Nigerians trust me. We are still consuming the goods/old stock from these countries...and it will soon be all consumed ..just give it a 1 year. Then Naija own suffer go start proper

God bless president Muhammad Buhari.
Even though l hate you before. This border closure make me to love to see you as visionary leader. I pray God give you wisdom and good health to govern this country in Jesus name Amen.

My president, l went to a village where locals are producing rice and l was marvelled the rate at which most of this youth are engaged and happy. Some of them that do menier job prefers to be involve in rice business now and they are busy. Assuming we have done this since 1999, our economy to an extent would have been better.

Assuming you failed to close the border, l don't know what future will hold for a country of 200million in next 30years experiencing smuggling through borders of expired medication, expired oil, expired beverages, expired rice, smuggling of Petroleum.

I have bought my local rice and they used local machine to remove the stone and l am enjoying it. The most surprising thing is that two cups of local OLD rice feed family of four. I bought it #13,000. The pictures are heavy, l would have show all. It kept showing the size is above 4MB

I know in the next one to two years, private entrepreneur will invest in the business (more of Cocharis company) and the price will come down. Like Donald Trump said American first.
Buhari now Nigeria first.

Note: l expect Channel TV to go to areas where rice are being produced and do a documentary, not sitting down in Lagos and ........
You don't need to respond to my comment, after typing l close the page and move to next topic

*Benin Republic has a population of 12 million people. But it is the worlds 5th importer of rice. In 2018, it imported rice worth US$996m.*

*Benin is also world's largest importer of _used_ _cars_ and __second_ - _hand_ _clothing_ . All with a population of 12m people.*
*DO YOU WONDER HOW?.........*
*Don't!*

*98.2% of these imports into Benin are only on transit; their final destination is _NIGERIA_ !*
*Nigeria is world's largest consumer of used cars and second hand clothing, and is also Africa's largest consumer of Asian grown rice.*

*The problem here is that all these imported goods attract appropriate import duty and trade tax, which are paid to the Beninoise Government while the goods are thence SMUGGLED into Nigeria WITHOUT ANY PAYMENT to the Nigerian Government and, thereby, adding zero value to the Nigerian economy!*
*Sadly, THIS IS ALL DONE BY NIGERIANS!*

*Granted, ECOWAS/CEDEAO charter allows for free trade between member states, but _on_ _goods_ _produced_ _in_ _member_ _countries_ , and NOT on imports from other economic blocs.*

*Where foreign goods are transiting through a member country, and ending up in another member country, the ECOWAS charter stipulates that the country of transit MAY collect a token trade tax, and its Customs officials should then escort the goods to the border of the importing country and hand it over to the Customs officials of the importing country!*
*But what we see in the case of Benin Republic is that it collects _CUSTOMS_ _DUTY_ plus _TRADE_ _TAX_ , and then allows the goods to pass through its hinterland for onward smuggle into Nigeria!*

*This is a clear violation of ECOWAS statutes and no nation can condone such costly infraction.*

*Nigeria has tolerated this nonsense from Benin for far too long and it is time to stop the malpractice if we want Nigeria's economy to grow.*
*(Therefore, whoever cries foul because we have closed our borders to smugglers while we're putting our act together, IS AN ENEMY OF NIGERIA!)*

*Nigeria makes up about 74% of ECOWAS population and about 71% of its economy. It is ECOWAS that needs Nigeria and not the other way round!*

Member of anarchist if u av heared about international trade u wouldnt av been saying all these shiiit, let me schooled you,the border closures was to check mate illigal smuggling and criminal parading and moving arms to our country also opportunity to allow our manufaturer sectors grow cos goods that can be produced in the country were not sort after because of foreign goods.

Benin dump all his rice here without paying a dime,no custom dutu no excise duty but yet they grow fat on us adding nothing to us.
If you want to do trade with us,open a trade channel get your documentations LC or BC and move your trade into the country not dumping all your goods on us people like u blame the goverment for not providing good enviroment for business yet u wine when good policy is put in place

IBO's, Hausa and Yoruba's are united on this closure.

Local manufacturing will greatly improve. Innoson, rice millers etc will be sooooo pleased with this.

Thumbs up Buhari. Follow up by creating the enabling business environment and support using the Banks of Agriculture, Industry and CBN to support these local manufacturers.

This could herald the new Nigeria if managed well. It could also cause more hunger if not managed well

Bros,
Rice prices are falling in Asia as we speak because no buyers and importers from Benin,

Those Asian countries are begging Nigeria so that they can export their rice to Nigeria at discounted(reduced) prices,
20% of Benin's economy is vanishing because that percentage is centred on smuggling into Nigeria, The effect of the border closure has reached as far as Liberia already,

So bros stop knowing, it has happened and still happening and that's why they've all been begging and crying especially those Ghanaians.
