Good set of results last night --- we win points even without playing! grin grin grin

Not so keen about the "unbeaten seas record" winning the title is the ultimate--- but right here, right now; I DARE to DREAM cuz that would be the fitting coup de gras'

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson intends to allow goalkeepers Edwin van der Sar and Tomasz Kuszczak, defenders Wes Brown and Gary Neville, midfielder Owen Hargreaves and striker Michael Owen to leave Old Trafford in the summer. The Scot will then build his side around midfielder Anderson and right-back Rafael. (Daily Telegraph)

Mancs, this looks good but can someone pls delete Owen Hargreaves name from the list.
and maybe also, VDS. . . .maybe not yet but the rest can pls jump out of the window asap!!
Abi wetin una think?

Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by Nobody: 11:17am On Jan 06, 2011
@Emperoh,
Let's face it.
Owen can't do much for United anymore.
It's starting to be psychological as well as physical.I mean his injuries.
But having said that,if Fergie can give Gary Neville contract extensions,I see no reason why Owen shouldn't be given same.
I hardly trust that report, because the two (Anderson and Rafael),despite their above average performances cannot be said to be cornerstone players (i.e. think United, think Anderson).
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by MrTA(m): 11:54am On Jan 06, 2011
No chance Wes Brown is leaving and really, I don't want him to leave. I don't care too much about the rest as I think big Ed is going to call it a day on his career which is fair enough. Neville will probably get a coaching position which is cool.Owen will go ahead and rob some other mid level club on high wages and spend more than half the time injured.

@Mr. TA
Let Brown go.
He has become as useless as anything can be.
He can't even run anymore. He is so clueless and daft,I can't remember that he started for us and provided the Ronaldo assist the night we won the CL in Moscow.
I personally will be glad to see the back of a player who has refused to grow.

SB

No matter how crooked OH has become, i still hold out a lot of hopes for him.
he is one player is looked forward to seeing at OT since his days at BM. . . .so unfortunate we are getting the short end of the stick!!

TA
I wonder how useful WB is to you. . .he has outlived his usefulness!!!
Unless red cards and its likes are the ish for you. Dude is soo vulnerable!!
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by MrTA(m): 2:15pm On Jan 06, 2011
I guess I always have a soft spot for local lads in the team. Especially one as long serving as Wes. I still really think he has abit left to offer in a backup capacity especially if we ever get the amount of defensive injuries we got last season. Better to have him that Carrick and Fletcher as our Center backs.
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by tkb417(m): 2:42pm On Jan 06, 2011
Lolol. TA we have smalling now. Can't forget d spanking we got from Fulham due to the personnel we deployed at the back

Not a fan of the unbeaten run sermon going on but if it would help us win d title, perfect. What I want is the title even if we'll lose 10times. I saw this article on some games that might prover VERY difficult afterwards and I tot I should share. (Dunno why games with Liverpool aren't considered threats to us sha)

January 16: Tottenham Hotspur (a)
Harry Redknapp has the luxury of resting his best players in the lead up to this clash as Spurs play host to Charlton in the FA Cup third round a week before while United face Liverpool - a match Sir Alex Ferguson has already said he will field as stronger a side as possible.

United's trip to White Hart Lane marks the start of several key clashes away from Old Trafford and Redknapp's side are in good form at home having lost just once.

February 13: Manchester City (h)
Not a docile affair at the best of times, but City will without a doubt have reinforcements from the January transfer window and be out to secure their first win against United since 2008.

Their meeting earlier this season was a less than inspiring draw and this time round both sides will have one eye on their upcoming European ties; United in the knock-out stages of the Champions League and City in the Europa League.

March 1: Chelsea (a)
Extreme weather conditions have so far prevented the sides from meeting this term and should Chelsea fail to recover some confidence the clash could come at the perfect time for United.

The fixture -dependant on both teams avoiding FA Cup fifth-round replays - does however mark the start of a difficult spell for United who in the following fortnight travel to Liverpool before hosting Marseille in the second-leg of the first knock-out stage of the Champions League. Chelsea, meanwhile, travel to Blackpool before their tie with FC Copenhagen.

April 30: Arsenal (a)
United have the upper hand so far this season thanks to a 1-0 win in December, but yet again they will travel for an enormously decisive game.

Fatigue could play a huge role for both sides at this stage of the season depending on how they fare in the Champions League. The Emirates clash takes place just days after the first-leg of the European Cup semi-finals.

May 7: Chelsea (h)
If Chelsea do manage to rectify their season and climb back up the table, then this fixture could prove, as Ferguson described it at the start of the season, the title decider.

Meeting so late on in the season again means fatigue will be a factor as will both club's progress in the Champions League and FA Cup

Still along way to go.Lots of football to be played. Because your chances are slim doesnt mean Arsenal/City cant pip us to it even though we are in a good position, we know how quickly things can change.

Good
I read somewhere Gary Neville wanna resign! Nice

The era of him costing us points is over! Giggs and Scholes can still play for one more season

Can SAF get Julio Cesar quickly? A goalie like Cesar with d kinda backline we have mean another title next season

with Smalling and Javier in d team, we are looking good for d future!

Can Evans go back on loan somewhere so we can get an adequate cover apart from Smalling?

Brown? Undecided yet on dt dude

U have two options. . . .show me the link to the article or be banished to the Chavs/Gaynners (chosse one) thread for the rest of the season!!!

Wetin u want decide for Wes Brown own?
Abi u want use him name complete your brown sugar? Dude should waka.
Let Rafael blossom. . . . but e be like say na only am go be our left back!!!
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by Nobody: 2:14pm On Jan 09, 2011
Gary resigning is as good a news as i could recieve. Julio cesar will be a good purchase but i reckon neuer or sketelenburg will be a better purchase on the long run.
Cos they both have age on their side. . .

Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by tkb417(m): 2:23pm On Jan 09, 2011
Why can't Smalling start this match?

So Gerrard and Torres vs Evans?

What's the meaning of this?

@emperoh
I read it somewhere on ma fone. Can't find d link again
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by MrTA(m): 4:33pm On Jan 09, 2011
We really really need a creative spark. Im hearing SAF will sign someone this January so fingers crossed we can get someone with what we need.
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by MrTA(m): 4:33pm On Jan 09, 2011
It'll also be unfair on me to not praise Evans after his performance today. He was very good.

Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by MrTA(m): 9:52pm On Jan 09, 2011
See now, Adler want to join us but Im sure Baba will prefer Tomasz.

"I have told the board of Leverkusen that I am not willing to discuss any kind of new contract until April. I just want to achieve a Champions League spot with my team here now.

"But everyone here knows that I have higher ambitions and everyone knows that Manchester United is my dream club. The board of the club are aware of the special clause in my contract.

"As a young kid all my friends were interested in cartoons, MTV, and German television programmes, but I was only interested in one person: Peter Schmeichel, who was in goal for Manchester United. I thought he was fantastic and loved every minute he was on TV with United.

"My whole bedroom was full of Schmeichel posters and United things. I also had one or two other heroes in football, like Paul Gascoigne and Zidane. But nobody, in my eyes, was as impressive as Schmeichel."

Not really given to this kinda flirting.
But who cares. . . .if he is good enough, let him come. My major worry is our midfield!!
We need creativity like air!!

Much as we won today, i am continually getting disenchanted with our play.
Not any urgency to kill off the game!!

I am still waiting for when we will improve!!
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by tkb417(m): 11:11am On Jan 10, 2011
Same was Van Der Vart openly called SAF to buy him. Did he? No

Not forgeting Suarez! Is he gonna get him? No (tho we don't need a striker)

I don't know what SAF needs to know he needs to remix our central midfield. We lack creativity in that region. Only Anderson comes to ma mind when I look @ d personnel we have there. A combo of VDV and Ando would have been super in our central midfield but hey, we've got d most clueless lot presently in that area of our team

One day sha, we go survive this punishment
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by tkb417(m): 11:18am On Jan 10, 2011
We shd beat Southampton!

Ryan Babel is a doofus! And oh year, Evans did well.

Great game from him and I was sad for him cos he coulda gotten a TV goal!
