You're quite right. Its better you start another thread like you stated, to iron-out the issues you raised with the other poster.

As usual, you haven't proved me wrong by attempting to derail this thread. I know your likes. Why didn't you write that statement in English?

Simple instructions for the general benefit of all, like I stated initially in the opening thread and still, adherence becomes such a problem!

Thank you for understanding and yes, I know i'm loved greatly here, I dont take it for granted.

How can you be Yoruba and claim to hail from warri. Even Itshekiri is not considered as Yoruba to many but still qualifies as Yoruba. That's the closest tribe related to Yoruba in Warri.

Akwa Ibom -Ibibio

Why are AkwaIbomites so under represented in Nairaland. Are we not supposed to be the Fourth major tribe in Naija after Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba

Its called modernisation my friend. My close friend, Yoruba boy also swears he's a waffi man, and he is accepted by all and sundry as a waffi man cos he's got the waffi slangs and accent and is born and bred in Warri.

Likewise my friend from Anambra claims he is a Rivers man first and Igbo man second, and no one denies his right as a Port Harcourt boy since he was born and bred and his mum is also from Bonny.

Even EzeUche calls himself PH boy, although any real PH boy would reject his claims flatly!!!  grin grin grin

Te bolded doesn't make sense. Is Rivers  a tribe? Are Igbos not in river state? A person calling himself PH boy or Lagos Boy does not mean the person is denying his ethnicity. he's just representing the city he grew up in. Not that there's anything wrong with that but the OP asked for your ethnicity and state of origin and not state of naturalization.

I've always thought that Ibibios are the 4th largest ethnic group in Nigeria because like i see many of them way more than i see Ijaw people. I just think it's because the Ijaws are more vocal politically that's why it looks like they're the major minority in Nigeria.

The ijaws constitute a considerable chunk in 3 or more states. The ibibios are only found akwa ibom/cross river.

So, just because they are in 3 more states that makes them larger. No i don't think so. Are they the majority in those 3 states? Their population in Ondo is less than 1%. In Delta they're not up to 5%. In Rivers state they're 10% of thereabout. It's only in Bayelsa that they have close to 100% population.

Don't use this site often, but:

50% Benue (Paternal) + 50% Ogun (Maternal) = 100% Nigerian (best of both worlds without any tribe’s negative traits)

This combination is quite rare but unique.

In rivers state, they're about 25 percent. If you add up their population from the various states, their size would definitely be more than that of the Ibibios.

There's no way they're up to 25% in rivers state. The Igboid groups(Ikwerre, Ndoki etc) make up at least 70% of rivers state. Then you have Ogoni and other groups to fight for the remaining 30%.

Okirika, Kalabari, Ibani, Nkooro etc are all Ijaws. They all constitute at least 25% of Rivers population.
Ijaws are more populated than the ibibios, and thats a fact,

The Ijaw tend to classify non-Ijaw groups such as Ogoni AND kalabari as Ijaw just to claim they are the fourth largest group in Nigeria. Even at that The Ibibio, Annang and Efik combined is bigger than the Ijaw.
Re: Celebrate Nigeria's Diversity - Posters' Rich Diversities. by Ngodigha: 1:45pm On May 27, 2011
The only Ijaw group in Rivers state are found in Asari Toru and Akoko Toru.
In Cross River state, there are so many groups there, yet Ibibio do not claim them. Ijaw should stop claiming non Ijaws in Rivers state.
