Stogwu123:No offence intended, the poster is actually asking for Ethnicity and not town of Origin. I know that Agbor is a town. |
Re: Celebrate Nigeria's Diversity - Posters' Rich Diversities. by wesley80(m): 11:53pm On May 25, 2011 |
^^ Agbor IMO qualifies to be called an ethnic group even though its also the name of a town. those from that area are popularly referred to as 'Ika' so maybe the right ethnic group here should be Ika. |

omanzo02:You see among Nigeria's problem are the Nigerians, they are very stubborn they never listen to instructions Can you show me what state is almajiri;s state Just say all states in the north are inhabited by almajiras The OP specifically said dont de rail this thread If you are not comfortable with it please dont post in it, simple as that no one is begging you anyway Nigerians they would say quiet they would shout, dont park - they would park their cars and insult the security who tell them it is prohibited Nigerians they get problem sha Anyway, Ethnicity here, what exactly does that means ? Is Hausa among the ethnic groups ? While you reply that am from Yobe |

Re: Celebrate Nigeria's Diversity - Posters' Rich Diversities. by AndreUweh(m): 12:40am On May 26, 2011 |
Let's display maturity here. No Nigerian is stateless or has no ethnic group. The poster has in a very polite manner asked posters of the politics section to state their states and ethnicities. It is not compulsory that all must post, so do not make the thread look silly. |
Re: Celebrate Nigeria's Diversity - Posters' Rich Diversities. by dempeople(m): 1:12am On May 26, 2011 |
@Andre Uweh, and all others You've all been great. Thanks for the contributions and for promoting diversity. You can't imagine how happy I am that this thread was never de-railed despite some mischievous attempt from one or two posters. I forgot some conspicuous posters like becomerich (Musiwa) , Obiagu, #Afanna, Yarodin etc? Keep them coming. Everyone should remember that during the roman times, there were lots of "tribes" in Europe. Even present day Saudi Arabia has lots of tribes in there. xterra2: Thanks for your post. It goes to show you how stubborn Nigerians can be. Where we specifically stated about not de-railing the thread, some people just couldn't wait. About the bolded, yeah. Hausa is among the ethnic groups. Everyone is welcomed. United in diversity makes a great nation. Rhino.5dm: Are u ashamed of your ethnic group? Is there anything wrong with listing ethnicity? |

@Odunnu, I knew you're Hausa but didn't know whether its Kano or Jigawa etc. Nice to hear its Kaduna. I'll like to visit Zaria to pay homage to the medieval Queen Amina. My relatives reside in Kaduna. omanzo02: OgidiBoy: I tell you. sirjec: Your royal lord of the highness is welcomed Sir. Ibime: Welcome Sir. Faka Jonathan is Okrika. |

Jarus, Kwara, Yoruba. To think all these years, I have not been able to figure Becomrich's state, but I'm sure he is not from Kwara, only schooled in Kwara. I have a feeling he is from Oke Ogun side of Oyo state. Also, Odunnu is not from Kaduna/Hausa. Only lived in the North, she's from the East. Kobojunkie is from Lagos, I guess. |
Re: Celebrate Nigeria's Diversity - Posters' Rich Diversities. by Rhino5dm: 7:37am On May 26, 2011 |
I don't really know why all this name calling. All i did was to ask a sincere candid question of the benefit of this thread. My enquire is genuine so don't get mad at me. The only thing i see a thread like this tends to achieve is to create a sub-conscious connection among NL base on ethnic sentiment, which i think is very wrong. I think it should be voluntarily done by individuals at their own discretion over time. IMO. |

henry101: Well if so then why the need to lie about something like this? Thought she wrote she's Hausa? Is there any shame in one acknowledging their identity? Rhino.5dm: I'm glad you said(wrote) its your opinion and we differ on this. To be honest, the thread isn't directed at anything but positive. The sub-conscious connection you wrote about has already been achieved through the posts that each poster posts to each thread of interest. For e.g, I've formed an opinion of you in particular way before I knew your ethnicity and state. And guess what, it was simply from the tone of your posts. Ethnicity and state of origin had nothing to do with it rather, everything to do with the pattern and tone of your own particular posts. When you wrote that it should be done voluntarily, are you insinuating that I held a gun to posters' heads while forcing them to type here? Its a free world. Choosing to comment or not, isn't by force. |

Jarus: Becommrich is from Ondo state, his love for that state is not like the love he shows for Yorubas in General. KoboJunkie is from Ekiti state Odunnu is Hausa, but lives in the SE. She said it somewhere in the cultural section. |

Odunnu is from the south somewhere, just grew up in the north. Kobojunkie is an Igbo woman who has spent a lot of time in the SW. She is tall (5'10) and sexy (at least, this is how I imagine her in my mind ) |
