That above is your version of successful woman. The woman you cite for me. Even my senior cousin who is an Ariaria trader who flies to Dubai, England, USA, China, South Africa every other week is more successful.

Biography of Adenike OGUNLESI
Nigeria > Business : Adenike OGUNLESI

Biography :

Adenike Ogunlesi is a Nigerian woman who founded the brilliantly-named children's clothing business, Ruff ‘N' Tumble, in Lagos in 1996. It has become a great success story and exports along the West African coast.

Adenike Ogunlesi is the founder and chief executive of Ruff 'N' Tumble an indigenous clothing company in Nigeria that specialises in children's clothing. From a tiny shop with her and her mother as the main staff, Adenike aka Nike turned Ruff 'n' Tumble into an instantly recognizable brand. She has built a reputation for being one of the best manufacturers of children's clothing in Nigeria.

"My kids ran out of pajamas. And I used to make clothing for women. So I decided that I'd just make some pajamas for my kids. "

In her second year as an undergraduate law student at the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Adenike opted out of school unsure of what to do with her life. She then reluctantly accepted her mother's invitation to work in her womens tailor shop. That experience helped her to discover who she was and what she wanted to do.She is yet another university graduate that never practiced her profession for one day. Trained as a lawyer at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, her father had wanted her to get into a high profile legal practice. But that was not to be. She refused to live out her fathers script. But her mother who made quite an in road into fashion in Ibadan in the early 60s and 70s, asked her to stay with her. Within one year, she said she discovered herself.

"I started in 1996, I was selling from the back of my car, I was selling at bazaars. Everywhere, there was a bazaar, I was there, my table and my suit case, my children and sometimes even my husband. So it all started then."

Today Ruff 'N' Tumble is a thriving business with 50 employees and distribution along the West African coast.

"We don't export now. Export to the West African coast, yes, all along the West African coast, yes, but to say, America or to England, I'm not interested in it at all. If 40 percent of the 120 million people in Nigeria are children, I have the potential of a huge market here."

Adenike was featured in the Africa Open for Business documentary and was recognized as the Fate Foundation Model Entrepreneur in 2005.
She is a mentor to Junior Achievement of Nigeria and the Fate Foundation.

Mrs Adenike Ogunlesi (Ruff 'n' Tumble) Mrs Adenike Ogunlesi, Managing Director and Chief Executive of Ruff 'n' Tumble, the burgeoning garment making for children is yet another university graduate that never practiced her profession for one day. Una no fit name one Yoruba woman that can stand soldier to soldier with Ngozi

Okay I lower the bar
Name one that can match
Oby Ezekwesili
Dora Akunyili
Arunmah Oteh (President of SEC and former VP of African Development Bank)

I know you may now be able to name one, Olufunmilayo Olapade, in this second category.

Believe it or not, Ngozi is the most accomplished woman in Nigeria, past and present.

Zno,

your stupidity is out of this world. Ngozi herself would be disgusted.
Why would she quit World Bank to come back to Nigeria if her definition of accomplishment were close to yours.

In fact, I think her starting as finance minister in Naija is the BEGINNING of her accomplishments. i'm sure she feels the same. otherwise, she would have stayed in WB.

grow up a bit and come back to open your mouth.

Your most successful Yoruba woman is a tailor and garment maker advertising herself on cyberspace. Oh! How much Oyo empire has fallen.
She is not fit to untie the shoe lace of even the MD of EMZOR pharmaceutical company, Lagos. Now run along, little sissy, your bottled food is getting cold.
Olodo! Ngozi had been a Finance minister (first naija woman) and Foreign affairs (first naija woman too) minister in the past. Both Obj and, now, GEJ had to beg her to come serve in both cases.

no woman is the most successful woman. tayo ogunlesi is just one of THOUSANDS of successful yoruba women. and I used that example because she was mentioned in the video on the first page.

i'm sorry if Ngozi is your idea of the most successful woman.lol

@OP: That first video was kind of cool. Didn't realize the importance and function of these commodity boards. Seems to be very important.

You be proper Ode. You have your Yoruba women only in your dreams

Ngozi is serving to help lift you from poverty, and to prepare herself to become the first female president of Nigeria

Bio:
BS Harvard
Ph.D. MIT
VP, World Bank
Finance Minister, Nigeria
Foreign Affairs Minister, Nigeria
Senior Fellow, Brookings Institution, USA
MD, World Bank
Finance Minister, Nigeria
Plus tens of other secondary positions she is holding.
President Nigeria (in anticipation)
Let me see you produce any female, Yoruba or not,  that can beat that status.

lol. this is exactly why Nigeria has not has a Igbo president in ages. God knows we might even never have one (if we split).

I personally will vote for Ngozi as president if she accomplishes enough as finance minister for Nigerian people. World Bank for example doesn't have a good track record of helping African people positively. and that is one reason why I don't care too much for her. who knows if she really represents Nigerian interests or World bank interests.
I would vote Fashola over Ngozi anyday. and Fashola hasn't accomplished anything according to your silly definitions of success.but he has accomplished plenty according to my definition.

Your Fasola is a hype. Erosion, flood and dirt is killing Lagos and your SW media keep hyping him, while he steals Lagos blind, in cohort with the master thief Tinubu.
I will have you know that your Fasola begins and ends in the SW, no one knows or cares about him elsewhere.
BTW, have you finished the milk in your feeding bottle? I have some baby juice for you.
