For quite awhile now,i have had this problem with my diseqc switch. They always got spoilt sometimes if i change satellite position once in a while. i have used (4-way) supermas(2),strong(2)and pauxis(2). Also, i have tried 8-way diseqc switch like super hd(1)& xcruiser(1). A friend told me using all the ports(4-way) is like overloading the switch but i always disagree with him and this led me into trying 8-way switch but 8-way is worst so far for me. Never stable, sometimes it will switch off one sat for the other. I'm still interested in 8-way becos am currently using three dishes facing 6 satellites. Most times i set it in All satellites so as to combine them for relative ease but have also tried selecting them separately sill but still get [b]No/bad signa[/b]l.Can anyone please recommend a good switch(of course 8-way)that is stable and reliable. Or i don't mind motorizing but couldn't lay hand on a HH motor suitable for this purpose or even the local method becos i heard some people do construct neck for their 1m dish to motorize it with jack.

Never use a satellite finder with your diseque switch.Any short circuit damages the diseque switch post

I never own a satfinder and av never used it before.all tracking na tru rooftop.

It could be thru a short circuits while removing the lnb cable.Always use direct cable when searching for a satellite(bypass the diseque switch and connect afterwards,..switchoff the decoder everytime you remove or inserting the cable on the diseque switch)

I need to report to colleagues using SRT 4930 HD about the latest software update. Previously there was an outcry that the software updates using boot version 5.40 were bringing dead tps when you blind scan. This time although maintaning boot version 5.40 as opposesd to Mytv's 6.0, the dead tp issue seems to have been rectified. I did a blind scan on Arabsat 5c and it was ok. Someone should try on any KU band sat to complete the test. There are several updates too that I have noted so far.

odilibe is right. You can't beat nilesat/ab7 when it comes to music, movies, sports etc. Since your dish is 4m you should be able to track fox series in Akure. As for music, you have MTV arabia, melody, etc. For sports, JSC sports, Abudhabi sports is there for you. If you're a news buff like myself, you have all the major news channels - CNN, bbc, france24, euronews, CCTV 9, etc begging you to watch them. What else do you need?

If your tv has the component jack you can use that. If not, use the a/v splitter so that you can have 2 outputs from the receiver.

thanks,can i get sky uk itv uk and other europe channels on astra2a2b wit 4m in akure.And of hotbird badr and nilesat which one has more english channels.

vcr and game consoles are some of the machines equiped with a rf modulators, so if u have one ,dust it nd put it to good use.

Irapada with 4m dish i dont think you need to ask anybody what is good for you .fold your sleeves and do something worth emulating.try all the satellites one by one,from 55w-68.5e both ku and c band .

i have forggoten my STRONG decoder password can SOMEONE help me pls with any password i can used now

Copy d firmware of another strong decoder (same model) to ur decoder.Use rs232 cable its easier dat way.

the master code for strong receivers is 0103
