I face a similar challenge on my SRT 4930. I however, use a Technosat T-888 for the tracking because I find
it more handy, since I have more experience with it and then the speed leads of the signal when approaching
a Sat.
I am tempted to think that it is the nature of the Receiver. If someone has a solution to this challenge,
kindly share.

you are right i use strong 60cm and strong ku lnb i couldn't go beyond 78%. But sha, am comfortable where it is so long signal quality is stable.

@Obnelly I owe you a million thanks on the guidance on my motorised. Though I was able to track sats from true east to true south (stopped at 4.8 'e) of both c band and ku band sats. I am on further study on how to track the arc accurately and less stress using the angle measurements. It was true talk, the grammar of LNBF with/without teflon plate does hold true on all c band satellites. I was able to track BOTH linear and circular c band satellite without the teflon plate in the LNBF.
