Winning elections in Nigeria doesn't necessarily mean you are popular sha, if you have strong backers, you can win elections, case in point Obaseki, Fubara and late Yar'Adua. If unpopular candidates can win governorship and even presidential elections simply because they had strong backers and a machinery in place, best believe worse would be happening in lower tier elections.

Like this Okphebolo guy, Sege wey dey active in politics for the state no know am, I no know am, but the people e contest against for primaries I know pretty much all of them, yet you say the guy popular simply because e dey win...reason am na grin

Probably because you are not in his Senatorial district. I doubt anyone who lives in Esan land wont know him when campaign was ongoing

Why? You are putting forward experience of Asue that distinguished him, What experience does GRV have over Sanwoolu
Lol, you mean Sanwoolhs experience beyond being a member of the deadly APC, manufacturers of multidimensional poverty?

This Sanwoolu's experience you guys keep alluding to, one would think it's something more special than being a Nigerian banker that grew through the ranks of his career as a banker plus a ton of political appointments... I really don't see anything spectacular about this experience you guys refer to really.

GRVs education trumps whatever education Sanwoolu brings to the table. I mean Sanwoolu spent years in finance, e no get ICAN, e no get CFA or any of the other major qualifications wey you go use know technically sound minds in the finance sector. I'll not want to make mean Sanwoolus accomplishments as a banker or in civil service cause e no easy, but the way you guys go on and on about this experience talk between GRV and him, you'd think it's a comparison between Okphebolo and Asue Ighodalo grin.

GRV has a solid education from one of the best schools in the world, hopped across a few companies post graduation then went into private practice and he's doing well for himself. He's more than qualified to contest for the governorship seat in any state of the federation and against any candidate, he's no pushover intellectually.

In a situation when it's between candidates who are both qualified enough for the seat they aspire to, you then start looking at things like their manifestos, the seriousness they bring to the campaign, their sincerity, ability to work unencumbered and more, and in all of these I think GRV was above Sanwoolu in the 2023 governorship election.

Knowing him is different from him winning and election because of his popularity and his personal clout as a politician.

If its easy to get those accomplishments in banking then GRV would have it

GRV contested at age 40. When SanwoOlu was age 40, he was already treasurer at a Bank age 29, Head of foreign money market at UBA and Divisional head at FCMB all these before age 36

GRV contested at 40yrs what verifiable does he have to show that compares to what SanwoOlu did in his Banking career

GRV completed his NYSC post MIT studies in 2009, he contested in 2023. That is 14yrs in between, what has he done in his career to make him a better candidate than SanwoOlu at 40 never mind the other achievements of SanwoOlu post 40yrs

Education is education and never a substitute for experience, You can have all the Harvard MIT and Stanford education, until you get on the field and put the education to use to make a difference you havent done anything better than someone less education but with verifiable result on the field

The Obi you are following has a Bachelors in Philosophy who has obviously shown how to be successful in business, why are you not following some of the other contestants who has Masters and PhD from foreign Universities without the results of Obi in business?

GRVs career has to do with creating architectural designs, it's not a career that leans heavily into management like in banking where you'd have hopped like 4 roles in 7 years. GRV is an architectural designer that worked with some architectural firms early in his career then moved into private practice. He's no less qualified than a banker moving up the ladder.

A doctor that's been practicing for 10 years is no less qualified for a political position than a banker that's been in banking at FCMB or Skye Bank simply because the latter has hopped positions and gotten fancy titles in the process.

Person go see this your post think say LP don win governorship for Lagos and every other state. The thing that made BAT of APC lose Lagos and two weeks later Sanwoolu of APC won same Lagos with ease is the same thing driving support for AI and don't you think it's too early to be going on like this when the results neva comot cheesy

APC supporting LP stands a chance and either way both candidates are better than Okphebolo.

This so called architectural designs that GRV has been working on and creating, Can you give us his business website so we can check his works and his clients plus achievements in the field? Abi that should be the minimum expected of an entrepreneur

I am sure there are architectural firms in Lagos where you can see their work online. If you want to build and are thinking of hiring GRV, what works will you see to make you hire him

For example Asue you can check his company's profile online, Same with Olumide's Templars.
Now lets see what GRV was doing post NYSC before politics in his field that is better than being a treasurer and division head at a bank

You don't have to win before the hypocrisy is pointed out. In Lagos nothing concern experience just LP top to bottom. Now Edo nothing like that anymore
