Does this add up to the total figure don't you realise the balance goes for the dudes with third class?? That's exactly why you are still in the labour market frustrated and pouring out your anger on private universities as if they are responsible for your predicament.

Trust me I attended ICAN classes with these chaps and quite a number of them are very good and already chartered. Go to any of the big 4 auditing firms known for objectivity and equality in their recruitment process and you will see a lot of these chaps from private universities.

They are good because they have an enabling environment, critics DEAL WITH IT.

This is how GPAs are calculated in most Nigerian schools;

1 unit=6 points
2units=10points
3units=15 points

An A=70%.So, someone who made 90% in a course and his mate who made 70% will be in the same grade of A.

So, if you make an A in a one unit course you get 6 points and so on.

Assuming this guy took 50 courses and made 49 As and a B, then there is possibility that he may graduate with a CGPA of 4.99

Huh I'm speechless even Igbinedion university that started first had seen courses like medicine not being accredited by NUC due to poor infastructures.Btw,How come private universities don't make the list of best Nigeria  universities ?

If the current students from Federal Universities are exposed to the superior facility and lecturing found at CU, they will produce more First Graduates than CU.

The UI,UNN, OAU, UNILAG of the 80s are better than any University now.

But these schools don't lecture(UI,UNN, OAU, UNILAG ) any more, instead they intimidate students with failure.

Private Universities are the why to go for now.

Federal Universities failed us big time.

Please all ye beefers, don't be vexed with this feat, as a matter of fact, this guy is my very course mate, and I'll tell you that his intelligence is not normal. Mind u he said he struggled in secondary school but he was only trying to be humble, he only struggled in his S.S.1, DO UR RESEARCH, HE GRADUATED WITH 5 A'S in his Senior WAEC. And as for those of you that feel that C.U. is easy, send ur relatives or come yourself and study and see wat u graduate with!!!!!!!

It is good that a 4.99 CGPA is coming out of a Nigerian University, but the issue is that, apart from the fact that 4.99 CGPA might probably not be possible, there should be a benchmark for rating these students.
1. The kind of lecturers that are teaching these students, what do they have, I mean what is there academic standard.
2. What is the standard of there exam questions. Do they give the students the assignment questions as the exam questions
3. The kind of exam questions, are they mean to apply knowledge gained in the class or they are just direct questions. Because in school like OAU, exam questions are application of knowledge. There are no direct, from textbook to exam paper, questions. You will have to think right there in the exam hall what you were thought in the class and apply it.

I think the management of the school needs to review the academic standard of the University. Because to me it is like making parents to be happy for the money they are paying to the school. Also to impress other parents to bring their children.

Moreso, the students being turned out of the university are not matured at all, they are mummy's kids. They are just academically okay but are totally inexperienced fellow.
I believe the management needs to review their strict rules on these people and give them certain freedom to express themselves, they are just dummys.

To make 4.99, you have to be returning GPA between 4.99/5 and 5/5 every year from year 1 to final year. All these mushroom universities are the problem of Nigeria Education and job difficulties.

Be sure of what you are saying, i think UNAAB was affiliated to Unilag up to 1991. Who is the Lecturer?, I know all of them there, couple of them are lecturing both at UNAAB and partime lecturer at  Babcock.
