You're right, only Nigerians use this word. The word is supposed to be: the exodus of the Jews out of the palestinian lands, to settle in other countries, the body of Jews (or Jewish communities) outside Palestine or modern Israel. Though, there are some secondry definitions which do not directly indicate that Nigerians abroad are Diasporas.

Heh heh heh. The funny thing is that Naija's abroad aren't in diaspora. The people in Diaspora are the african americans, caribbean and other people of african origin that were taken abroad against their will. We are simply Nigerians abroad.

When I see them in Lagos speaking with their nose I sometimes wonder if this is as a result of them putting something in their nose at work. Oyinbo don't speak with nose even. Considering that many Nigerians who have lived in the US or UK for decades still prefer to converse with other Nigerians using their native dialects, it is both absurd and amusing to hear other Nigerians who return home from short overseas vacations suddenly trying to sound like the Queen of England, with predictably hysterical results that no one from any country can understand.
